To begin with they are not 0-3 in the console market. They did not win the first two generations they participated in and they are on target to be at least second this generation (X1 sales are about double Wii U sales at this time last year). Not coming in first is not a reason to exit. Pepsi is second to Coke... Are they selling off?

Also, I would hardly call the last generation a failure. MS had a console that lasted a year longer than PS3. And coming in 3rd is more a s...

Why is this sad?

I wasn't much of a Kinect Sports fan last gen, but I have to admit after seeing the trailers and trying out the pre-season this game seems to be really solid.

Of course it won't appeal to everyone, but people do buy consoles for more reasons than to shoot stuff (shooters), slash/beat stuff (action), race (racing), conquer things (strategy/RPG), and collect things (platformers)!

Fix...

Implies that something is broken.

I have played Battlefield, CoD, Lococycle, Powerstar Golf, both Lego games, Ryse, DR3, and Forza.

The controller is not broken. I have had no problems playing these games.

They may be improving it, but it is definitely not broken.

Nobody sells millions of consoles in the month of March... Or April, or, May, or June, July, August, and September.

This is about setting XB One up for the October, November, and December timeframe when consoles do sell a million per month.

If you have the "game(s) they must have" when the consumer goes to the store or online to buy a games console, they will probably buy your console over the competitor's.

Exclusivity is more a statement of competitive exclusion than it is about exclusivity to a single platform.

Meaning it is more important which platforms it does not ship on than it is about which ones it does ship on.

If you want to play a game, but don't own the platform that it is on, that is a deal breaker that may compel you to buy the other platform. Or you have to accept that you may never get to play that game on your platforms.

I...

That's funny!

Forza did not have a frame rate or resolution downgrade. It has been 1080p resolution and 60 fps since day one.

There is a difference between the detail rendered in the E3 demo and the final game. But, I doubt anyone who has played the game with an open mind would say that is "severely downgraded" or that it took away from the game experience.

I like how all of a sudden 30 fps is acceptable because infamous Seco...

@MELMAN26... You have not seen so many delays at the start of a generation? Ummmm... You obviously did not participate in the last console generation...

Unreal Engine 3.0 was delayed many times for release on 360 and then many more for PS3. Too Human delayed years, Killzone 2 delayed years, Alan Wake delayed years, LittleBigPlanet delayed years... On the dashboard and XMB side, the console vendors were constantly dropping promised features. And they didn't call the ...

There will easily be 100 games between Indies, multi-plats, and exclusives...

Typically, if you use last gen as a guideline, you will see a distribution like:

January 3 games
February 10 games
March 10 games
April 5 games
May/June 10 games
July/August 10 games
September 15 games
October 20 games
November 20 games
December 3 games

Total 106 games... The reason I know is f...

I thought Forza 4 was a bit redundant, but Forza Horizon was a very cool way to use the Forza engine. I had a blast driving around that area of Colorado in an Aventor.

I would like to see a three year cycle.

Year 1: Forza the pure racing sim (aka Forza 5)
Year 2: Forza Horizon the racing sim set in an open world.
Year 3: Project Gotham Racing

There is a market for PS Now, but this is all going to depend on the pricing model and content. How many they sell will be interesting to see.

As for third party publishers, it will be all about if they can make a profit.

Don't worry. His comments about Xbox are just as dumb as the ones about PlayStation.

I have all three next gen consoles.

None of those games would make me switch from one console to PS4.

If you own Wii U it is probably because of Mario and Zelda. None of those games would be comparable to those.

If you own an XBone it is probably because you want Halo and Gears of War. Again, none of those games are comparable. And with Titanfall only a month away a lot of shooter fans are waiting to see if it lives up to expectations.

I don't think it is a gimmick. As a gaming controller it does have limited use though.

For example, it is hard to imagine a dance or fitness game without Kinect now. Kinect has made these games more immersive and realistic to play. There are a lot of legitimate uses for it. They just don't appeal to most core gamers.

Fanboys can work for financial web sites as well.

In fact, financial sites are some of the worst.

How does the truth hurt? I own all three consoles this gen...

Wii U, PS4, and X1...

I couldn't care less about sales. What I would like to see is more gaming articles on N4G. There seems to be a really lack of gaming content on the News 4 Gamers web site.

I don't care how good this game is. $40 is too much for two hours of entertainment.

I don't mind games being short, but when the game is $40 it has to be at least 5 hours of solid entertainment.

I will wait until it is $15-20

There are a lot of people in "gaming journalism" that really should stop being fanboys and start being gamers.

As I see articles like this I block the sites in my browser! Cause if they are not interested in real gaming articles I am not interested in them.

So a gamer loses their job and their PS+ subscription is up for renewal and they can't afford or justify to their family the PS+ renewal over feeding their family and paying their life bills.

That is not stupidity, that is putting your priorities in the right place.

Value is measured by price, quality, and time of enjoyment provided.

If they are out of balance then the game is not worth it.

And that is the discussion on MGS. It is probably excellent, but it currently deemed short, and it is costly for its length. If it was $10-15 I think people would be fine with it because the quality and time are aligned to the price. But when it is $40 you expect more, it is great but only 2-3 hours of enjoyment is not much. I kno...
