It could also prove the opposite.
Vanquish was probably my favorite game of last gen. I'd kill for a sequel. Hell, I'd take a remaster at this point.
@aconnellan
Technically games aren't free when you have to pay for them... And a campaign should be a part of just about every game at launch. I think the argument is that success for games on game pass kind of promotes more titles to be released in an unfinished state because it can always be updated later and boasted as getting support from devs and extra free content. That kind of service is a double edged sword for gaming.
There is a new Streets of Rage in development though lol
They're gonna have to add bots since there's hardly anyone left to matchmake with...
@Myst
Isn't that what any direct sequel does? Why criticize one game for doing it just because of its popularity when literally every franchise does it?
The end game is very grindy and repetitive with very little variation. While this may be the norm for a lot of games setup to be ongoing, bioware has also shot themselves in the foot over and over by going out of their way to make it unrewarding. The roadmap was also a joke since almost none of the planned events or content have come to light or even been commented on.
I'm pretty sure it's supposed to look like that.... Since they're burning candles and not suds.
Yeah definitely. Solo leveling through quests and running instances/dungeons was a game changer compared to the mundane exp groups of pulling one mob at a time over and over for hours to maybe get a level or two.
Jeez, for some reason I thought they shut this game down a while ago to try to move players to FFXIV. I put countless hours into this game back when it launched on the PS2 lol. MMO players these days don't know how easy they got it compared to how they were back then and EQ days.
I'm with you on that one bud. Lost Planet was extremely underrated and part 2 brought in alot of potential with the fun co op missions and huge boss battles. They could expand on that formula with the monster hunter aspects they had implemented and really have something special.
They also show alot of favoritism in marketing certain games over others. Tomb raider had much more advertising than Nier did. Same with FFXV in comparison to DQXI. It sucks because DQ sales numbers are nowhere near FFXV but it's so much better and was actually a complete experience at launch as well.
LOL so FFII and FFIII/VI are poop? FFXV is the biggest pile in the franchise...
Funded this on Kickstarter so long ago lol. So glad it's finally coming out, now I have to figure out my account info to see how they go about confirming shipment and all that. I haven't logged on the site in a year probably...
There's alot. The Witcher 3 if you haven't tried it already. If you're looking for something more traditional or jrpg, I'd say you'd have a hard time finding something better than Dragon Quest XI, or Nier Automata if you want action combat.
The thing with review scores and ratings is that they're subjective. An okay, average or even bad game to one person could be a great game to someone else. It doesn't really make either person wrong. Different things appeal to people in a variety of ways.
Actually, there's been articles for 3rd party games saying best played on the One X as well... But with the superior hardware I guess it's justified. People just need to be happy playing the games they want on the platform they want, though.
I'm not one to defend EA, but people are ready to attack anything with their name on it with little to no reason. Uncharted 2+ are single player story driven experiences, with optional multiplayer also, along with many other games.
Just saying, at this point we really don't know until we know. The worst thing that can happen is what you already assume EA will do. And in that case, it's pretty easy to just not buy it.
Still wishing they'd remaster Black.
FFXV shouldn't be anywhere near this list when there's so many better choices out there. Dragon quest XI easily beats it out as the first game to come to mind.
