After the KZ2 debacle way back in the early years just before PS3, GG has been very consistent in focusing on actual gameplay rather than tech demos/cut scene trailers. It's a welcome change. Horizon looked incredible.
Likely to be a long wait. Sony buying up the marketing probably included only showing footage for PS4 for at least a while longer. (See XB1 with Destiny) maybe terms are different on PC platform though.
You would not have called them marketing geniuses for much of last generation. In fact usually it's marketing that has held PlayStation back from even MORE success. This gen they have been much better. In fact they copied a lot of MS market strategy and it is paying off.
I agree with you, but it's not just 18 games. It will be over 100 and more as the public release becomes final. It's actually really cool and I wish Sony could do it. That being said, I agree with you the PS4 will still win.
MCC and Forza are still there because no noteworthy game has release for XB1 since last holiday.
I think it is unlikely that Sony holds to a 399.99 price point by the end of 2015 also. If they drop the price to 349.99, they will be able to get large holiday numbers as well. I just don't see MS being able to create the tidal wave they expect.
Shenmue is not console multi platform. It is only on PS4 and PC.
The keyword there is "for me". I enjoy sports video games. Although I do not enjoy Madden.
The reason Microsoft gave away backwards compatibility for free was because the owner still has to have the physical copy (or buy a digital copy). At least as I understand it. It would be asking a lot for Sony to give away PS Now for free. Too many licensing issues. Perhaps Sony can come up with a BC deal similar to Microsofts down the line.
No they don't. Microsoft had a great E3, but in the long run even if Sony delivered a mediocre conference it isn't likely to cause a sudden change in sales. The odds of negative impact for Sony from E3 are pretty low.
That being said, as a fan of video games I hope that Sony does put on a show equal or greater than Microsofts.
@MELMAN26
You are correct. That wasn't the point I was making though. It wasn't a MS vs Sony thing. I was merely pointing out that unveiling VR at E3 is gaming related and is therefore not similar to what Microsoft did at their console unveiling event (which gamers expected to be more gaming focused than it was) which focused on TV and other non gaming benefits of the console.
VR is for games though. I agree I hope it isn't the entire show, but it makes sense that it would be a large portion of it. That's not the same as the infamous "TV TV TV" E3 Microsoft had two years ago because that had nothing to do with gaming.
One handing a shotgun seems a step too far...
You could stop visiting N4G before E3 ;)
We have tried this already so many times. People do not want football games that are without the NFL license. It sucks. I hate it. I wish they stood a chance. But you can't pretend the Orlando Flippers are equal to the Miami Dolphins or whatever other made up team they come up with. It totally destroys the fun of imaging yourself truly in control of your favorite team.
They said that but they also closed the studio that made the game and discounted it severely. I hope it gets a sequel but the first one did disappoint Sony.
MCC set the bar high? A large portion of MCC multiplayer is STILL broken. That probably encouraged them not to attempt that with these remasterers. Besides, most of MCC wasn't really remastered. They just ported over prior versions of the game.
The PS4 is much faster installing the games. It's not even close and it's very noticeable on SOME games. That being said, PS4 installs can sometimes take a while also.
I thought about this but the ability to make back a portion of my purchase (through sale) was worth more than the ability to pre-download. You are almost always paying more if you download.
I think they got a DDos attack. Thus the DDos verification page. Just an assumption though.
