Best part of this game was the split screen multiplayer and co-op campaigns. Sad the new games don't have it.
Activision owns Crash, but I'm pretty sure the games N-Sane trilogy is based on (the original three) are still owned and distributed by Sony. This game was a compromise on both sides (Sony gets exclusive, Activision can use original games), no way it ends up on another platform. If they make a full blown sequel that's a different story.
The protection for this game is the fact that Star Wars Episode 8 is coming and that hype will help it. As someone who waited a really long time and picked up the ultimate edition for $20 on Black Friday, I really like battlefront. It has plenty of content with the DLC all included. Let's just hope the base game at least includes more than last time.
You missed out on a fun time by passing. I had a ton of fun with the game. The only reason I quit is because I'm more invested in some others now. The complaints are somewhat valid, but over blown. Some characters are better than others it's just the way it is. You have to learn to win in spite of it.
But beyond the first few Scary Movies when the genre was brand new, live action parody films have flopped so hard.
Just my personal theory but I think the interactive element of a video game is still the part that makes it difficult to translate to film. There are a lot of games with great stories, but the fact that you can immerse yourself in playing the characters is what makes it better. In a movie you lose that immersion and you have to rely solely on the emotional attachments to the character. There hasn't been a film yet that has been able to truly create that emotional bond. With books or comic...
Xbox One doesn't offer any additional multiplayer software advantages over PS4. The multiplayer games are overwhelmingly multi platform to begin with, and there are games that offer great single and multiplayer experiences such as Uncharted 4 that you are missing out on.
Gun was very fun
The most frustrating part of it for me is not being able to share the in-app purchase on family sharing. If I'm paying $10, for a game requiring always-online, I should at least be able to share that with my wife and kids.
Battlefront at $17 isn't a very good deal considering it can be had now for $19.99 and will be $9.99 on Black Friday.
@bow2yoda
It actually says game "card" which would make it more likely to be SD flash memory type of storage.
The commitment to local multiplayer (based on the trailer) is one thing I do like about the Switch. The end of local split screen has been a big factor in not having as much fun gaming with friends these days.
Most call of duty games get solid reviews in the beginning, although this one is getting a little higher than usual. It's not until a few weeks or months later that a large group of haters come after it for either changing too much or not changing enough. At the end of the day, if you like Call off Duty you will buy it and if you don't you won't.
I haven't heard 100% confirmation that the games are "cartridges" persay. They could be SD-card type flash memory that house the game. But, you're right they may not need to be stored locally.
He originally had more turret damage and it was extremely lopsided in his favor. Frankly he's sort of just a broken hero overall.
I'm sure it was 100 times more R&D than that amount, but the profit from each unit probably only covers marketing costs etc. where the real money comes from is the additionally VR software and accessories. I'm guessing Sony is making a fortune off it altogether.
The 360, although globally outsold by the PS3, was successful in reaching the mass market and pop culture at large. I give Microsoft credit for that. But outside of some of the 360 years it is a pretty ugly history for the Xbox brand.
Genji is annoying. But there are ways to defeat teams who duplicate characters. You can even copy their strategy if you really want to.
Crappy is a little harsh. Vicarious Visions has done good work in the past. Some mediocre work as well, I agree. But they aren't a bad studio. They are capable of making a strong game.
Halo 5 coop campaign was not split screen. I'm very excited to hear that they are including it in halo 6.
