It wouldn't have been free, since users would then have to pay for EA Access. So how is that even related to this offer other than being an opportunity to throw in a weak jab at Sony?
Not saying it didn't happen but do you have a source for that? Sony did not pay for exclusives very often in the PS1 era. They dominated by such a large margin and it was such an easy platform to develop for (since it used CDs) a lot of developers became PS exclusive for free. Such as with final fantasy.
This is a terrible example of someone who doesn't quite understand supply chain economics.
The PS4 Pro is still selling out frequently on amazon, and was not a new console just an iteration of the former.
I bought the Switch and it is cool, but I do still think Nintendo could make some incredible games on a system like PS4.
Yeah I bought a Switch and personally Zelda wasn't for me. It was an excruciating wait for MK8 which was really more of a remaster or DLC packed game already done on the Wii U. The system is MUCH better than the Wii U. No doubt about that. But I'm concerned that the third party support is shaping up to be little changed even after the hubris.
Nintendo is marketing the system as a game console not only as a mobile. Although it's true a lot of PS4 and XB1 owners buy it as a second console, it's still the case that any purchase of a Switch is money not spent on the other two systems. I don't understand why some Switch fans won't just embrace that. You are competing with two other systems. We don't grade on a curve.
I guess it depends on where you live. I didn't have any problem getting my hands on a switch, and the eBay resale values (the ones actually selling) are pretty reasonable which generally means demand isn't crazy enough to drive up the price. Don't get me wrong I think the system is popular and it's selling through the stock but I don't really see the numbers backing up the idea that this system is anything more than a typical console launch. Virtually all consoles in the p...

They dont own the IP but they do own the publishing rights for the original games of which this trilogy is an exact replica of.
This would work against the brand Microsoft is trying to develop with a Scorpio, which is the hardcore graphic intensive console gamers. To develop a handheld, something they have no expertise in (and Microsoft has a dreadful history in first entry devices) would only dilute the brand more. Terrible decision.
Battlefront 1 wasn't that bad after all the season pass DLC was added in. I played when it first came out and then returned many months later and was pleasantly surprised how much had been added to it. Still needed more depth which it looks like they are addressing in BF2.
I've seen them higher than 400. But you're right, when you factor in the average paypal+eBay cut of 15% the profit margins on these aren't that good for the resellers.
It does vary from state to state but the number of states is increasing as Sony has been forced to abide more closely to ambiguous sales tax collection laws.
UK uses a totally different tax system. Not applicable to this.
I don't believe taxation is "theft". I do believe taxation is private property seized by fiat. The latter interpretation acknowledges it is legal, without being happy about it :)
Many states are safe for now, but Sony has made it clear they will slowly shift to applying the sales tax in every state.
They didn't used to tax PSN in most states. Sony recently has begun assessing them to comply as best as possible with local tax codes to avoid ambiguous statute interpretations they may face in the future.
Huh? What state with sales tax are you shopping in where the retail price includes the taxes? That doesn't make sense. The US doesn't use a VAT system. It's $59.99 plus an additional applicable sales tax. The PSN store used to avoid collecting the additional tax, but they have decided it is legally safer as a company to begin collecting it. So now both online and in store there is sales tax.
Yeah but this is the Ultimate Edition so it includes all of the DLC/Season pass content.
