They showed a snow-dominated planet IIRC at last years E3. There was no red or yellow. If you actually take the time to search for yourself you would find them. As far as "deeper blacks" go, I mean the game obviously has a distinct core animation style and you either like it or you don't.

@UltraNova

They didn't sell the rights back to Marvel. They agreed to temporarily share the character, and for Marvel to have some input on the new standalone films (in return for some Marvel characters being shared as well). Sony still owns all the screen rights to Spider-Man.

Generally beta/stress tests they let you level up and such faster than what would be ordinary, so that players are able to test the items and abilities during the testing window more frequently.

Yeah but the reason a COD type franchise doesn't do it, is that they are already highly exposed in the media. They don't "need" the Super Bowl exposure so $5 million isn't worth it. For less known titles, $5 million is too big of a risk. The economics just don't work out for most video games in the Super Bowl.

Do you have a source for this or did you just make it up completely?

Easy to say now, but believe it or not many analysts at the time of the deal thought $4 billion was OVER paying for the franchise. Besides, Lucas was willing to give a discount to sell it to Disney because he saw it as the best fit given their merchandising/franchising prowess and his relationship with some of the executives.

I mean, yeah it came out the month before... on October 27. So it had one week before November. That is really not that great of a finish for a title on the scale of Halo.

The PS2 generation actually wasn't very long, if we are going by the time it took for the new consoles to release. And really only the PS2 had massive sales. It's not like that generation represented a huge pool of console shoppers that won't be back again. (That might be the case for the Wii shoppers from last gen though)

Don't forget when the PS3 first released in late 2006 it was missing a LOT of features. I mean there wasn't even in-game XMB or trophies. The PS3 as it grew older gained a number of great features (to be fair it also lost some, like custom OS). Give the PS4 the same opportunity to mature as a platform and I think you will feel differently in a few years.

PS3 was a very good console. But personally I have to disagree about the PS2. It had quality games across almost every genre. And virtually everyone owned one (in North America anyway).

I loved the PS1 but there were times when the N64 was just as good. (I personally never came to be a 64 fan, hated the controller, but I respected the quality of some of the games) but the PS2 was just incredible. It's hard to describe to younger teenagers these days who did not live through it.

It's not that the PlayStation 3 was bad. It's just that it failed to live up to the PS1 and especially the PS2. I've never seen a console so well situated as the PS2 was. Xbox and GameCube had their moments but the PS2 was a system you absolutely HAD to have. It had DVDs, it had BC, and it had probably the largest library of quality games with the most broad swath of genres. It was also the last generation where local multiplayer was mostly standard. So it was phenomenal to play w...

At the time SE made the deal with Microsoft, PS4's sales domination was actually even greater than it is now. Although, obviously, the total unit lead was lower since sales have accumulated since that time. The momentum was clearly in favor of PS4 before the deal was made.

I'm not saying this game is perfect because it's definitely not. However to say "if this wasn't Star Wars the score would be lower" is just ridiculous. You could use that logic for almost any game that isn't a brand new IP. This is a Star Wars game, so it gets graded as a Star Wars game. In fact the Star Wars aspect of the game is the only part most would agree they did perfectly right. If they completely butchered and betrayed the Star Wars license people would be g...

Not just Fallout 4 which was bad enough, but right after Halo 5 and COD which both had huge marketing deals and both are established properties for Xbox owners.

But the biggest sales occur during the first week on a blockbuster game like this was. It will sell more due to its proximity to the holiday season and the fact that SE will have to start discounting it because every game loses its luster after the first few weeks. But when it's all said and done there's no way they can be happy about the way it has sold. And it's not just the MS exclusivity deal. It's also attempting to match up with Fallout 4 and fresh off of Halo 5/COD. Who...

It's not just that PS4 is the leading platform. It's that, worldwide, the PS4 unit lead is so massive and dominant in some regions outside North America SE doomed the games launch in those regions by not being available on it. Not to mention the fact that the game is already traditionally a PlayStation franchise. Or it was anyway.

That's sort of accurate. They did indeed let Bungie leave and take the name. However, they kept several members of the staff. It was more like there was a mutiny brewing and Microsoft decided to just let them go rather than get into a bitter fight that could bite them if those departed developers made an awesome game. Good decision on both ends.

Personally, I disagree with your assessment. I felt Black Ops 3 jumps and wall running felt more natural than AW. The zombies and campaign are also still best with Treyarch.

A shooter can only have so many changes. It's still just a shooter. Black Ops 3 actually introduces several alterations the series has never had before. I am not a big call of duty fan (not a hater either) and when I played the beta I had a lot of fun.
