They will sell much more than a million or two by the end of the year. Holiday sales are easily in the millions PER MONTH. (Granted there's only two months) my guess is they add another 4 million from now to end of the year.
Your point has merit. But review scores have gone through an element of score inflation over the past ten years. In other words, the last generation of game consistently scored higher than scores from the past. Plus there were less reviewers back then so any mediocre score dramatically impacted the final tally.
Xbox One disappointed a little bit in the US, but the damage at launch was never as bad in North America as it was around the world. It's sales in Europe that have really gotten hampered by it.
I don't think I've had that bad of issues in my experiences. I have had it on occasion but it's never a big deal.
Companies on the scale of AMD don't just liquidate overnight. They will stay around for several more years and, if need be, sell off portions of the business that are valuable but unprofitable. It would take years.
There's a reason why Nvidia said they didn't even bother fighting for Sony/MS business this time around. The margins are minuscule. Not insignificant, but still very small. And the pricing pressure gets worse every year because they are constantly trying to force your prices down and consoles don't upgrade mid cycle. In other words, the margins start small and only go down because there's no need for a new product with higher margins to replace the old.
I see you were joking, but as a point of fact currently the Euro trades for about $1.14. That's very low historically. Exchange rates don't play that big of a role anymore, compared to what it used to be.
I could see team chat working well in a few game modes. When it's 20 vs 20, that's too many mics I have to listen to.
If XB1 fails to beat PS4 even with Halo 5 can we just assume the war is over. There's no way they will ever win if they can't even win Oct-Nov (at least one of the two) when Sony has ZERO big exclusives while MS has all of theirs.
For some reason I am getting a "Phishing" alert when I open this link. Hmm...
No. It's been talked about because Halo has always been one of the most popular games, maybe in history, for supporting even up to 4 player split screen. It's an entirely different experience (not to mention convenience) playing with friends or family in the same room on the same console. Losing the split screen ability actually removes my only lasting interest in Halo because it was those experiences that made me a fan. Without that, I don't have a huge interest in the game and l...
I can't speak for the galactic conquest aspect. I have not played the original games since the PS2 gen. You may have a point there. It appears based on my memory, however, this looks really similar to the old games. I'm just not seeing why it gets so much anger. I guess I'll see if the beta is fun and perhaps agree with you after that.
This game doesn't look any less fun than the original Battlefront games. I'm not understanding the pessimism on this. People asked for a new battlefront and this is almost exactly that. Battlefront never looked that fun. But somehow it was anyway. I'm still looking forward to it.
I disagree with the premise there is not enough family friendly content. Look at all of the free games with PS Plus. Almost every single month you get at least one family friendly game. There are plenty of them. The difference is that what constitutes a fun game has changed. We aren't as easily entertained by platformers anymore. And the good AAA talent that developed them in the past has thus moved on to make different genres.
The game has been out for over a year. At this point the only people who care are the ones who do in fact think that the game is enjoyable. I don't understand why you feel the need to continue trashing it.
I don't particularly understand when they do a preorder requirement anyways. Anyone could just buy from Amazon, play the beta, and then cancel the order without paying anything. Or maybe they are banking on consumers not understanding that they can do that.
I agree with you on the charge up feature in 2k. But in terms of the graphical physics it seemed more like real football.
I just explained what kind of change I want. It doesn't play or move like actual football. The players are too stiff and unnatural. Watch any gameplay video and You never think wow that looks almost like the real thing! It just looks arcade like and fake unless it's a static screenshot. I have played every Madden (except 16). It's not that they don't change things. It's just that the changes don't solve the core issue, which is that the game just doesn't feel right...
By no means do I say this to slam the people who still get excited for Madden every year, but in my opinion it really is just marginal improvements every year. Or simply an old generation feature brought back in a new wrapping. My biggest problem with Madden has and continues to be that it doesn't feel like football. It always feels like an arcade game. ESPN 2k5 has certainly dated by now, but at least it felt like a real football game in terms of the physics. Madden looks good in screens...
NFL Gameday won't happen. But I wish...
