I actually don't disagree with the idea that piracy has led to service advances. But the argument of "well i never was going to pay for it anyways so I should be able to enjoy it" doesn't really hold any weight. You shouldn't be allowed to get all the benefits of a product for free simply because you don't appreciate it enough to pay for it.
Costs that much to go see a movie? In America it is $10 for many showings or $2 a day for a blu-ray rental. Not really that expensive. And it's your fault for buying theater snacks. Everyone knows those have 300% markup.
Although, it will then probably release in a rush despite years of development and won't be fully patched until 2018. So 2018 we are good to go.
I expect an E3 2015 teaser trailer. Than a fuller reveal at PSX 2015 In December stating a holiday 2016 release. Then in E3 2016 there will be gameplay and a delay to Spring 2017, where it MIGHT stay unless they delay it to the summer. So... By summer 2017 we should be playing it.
Unlike the advantages that Nintendo enjoys by owning the vast majority of their big characters, Sony has to pay for the rights to all of those your just discussed. The cost to license all of those characters would have been astronomical and the game had to prove it was worth the investment. Unfortunately it wasn't because it bombed big time. Is that due to the character selection? Maybe. But regardless Sony could never have afforded the high cost of licensing all those third party charact...
You are missing the point. Sony would have preferred to use the original version of those third party characters. But the third parties only offered versions which would raise awareness for their new games. It that sense, yes they were advertisements.
But Sony did not select them for that reason. That was just all they could get. The earlier post implies that Sony turned down Spyro and Crash for new Dante and big daddy (or the others). That's not true. They took what the...
The characters were not chosen to advertise a game. They were only allowed to license a few of the characters. Most of the major characters are third party that were not lent to them for use.
PS Birthday. It was originally released on December 3rd, 1994. (12-3 = 12,300 units)
Say what you will about how frustrating it was... But Sony sold out of over 12,000 PS4's in a few hours using only their own website (they get to keep all the profit).
They also generated publicity for it. In a business sense, this was a wonderful success.
Well considering experience is in December it would be hard not to focus on the next year
Some people are just way too critical. Learn to chill out and just enjoy yourself.
Really when you read the article it is much more of an indictment of video game consoles in general, not really on the PlayStation 4 (though it is obviously included).
FINALLY GOT MINE!....
jk. The website seems to be getting even slower now. I'm probably better off not getting my hopes up anymore. *sobs*
That would have reduced the implicit rarity of the console, which adds to its allure.
Got it in my cart but keeps having server error when I go to finalize it :(
This isn't a question of whether you have the "freedom" to play the game or read the Bible. Regardless of the retailers decisions, you do have that option.
This is a decision by individual (albeit large and more Liberal) retailers not to carry the game so that they don't lose customers in a boycott. Are those retailers being overly sensitive to radical feminists groups? Absolutely. But this isn't a political issue or an issue of freedom. It's an iss...
I only agree with you half-way. I wish more games had a quality co-op experience, especially locally. I have friends and we don't just like to watch each other play all the time.
On the other hand, a lot of times the co-op (especially online) does tend to suck if it's forced in.
What if this wasn't a completely new Crash and instead it was an HD remaster for it? With a.completely new engine sort of like Halo 2 Anniversary. I would enjoy that if they sold it for like $19.99.
Sony seems to be trying to turn this into their own major show. I think similar to when Apple or Google holds a special keynote. Basically, why would you want to go all out at E3, in the summer which is a dead season for games, when you can have your own platform exclusive convention and keynote right in the midst of the holiday season?
It's not that bad. For anyone who has been really interested try it for yourself. I held off due to the hate on this site and recently caved and am quite surprised at how much I enjoy it. It's a fun game in my opinion and totally lived up to my (albeit lowered) expectations.
