Well, some of the most successful commercials ever have been downright cheesy, so it's not all bad.
Although I do have to admit, the commercial is VERY cheesy. However, to appeal to average joe and average jane, sometimes you have to be.
I also am kinda divided on the gameplay enhancements aspect, especially if they do not include the content as an unlockable or downloadable content later down the line.
Once again, to all those whining about sony losing exclusives... what about bioshock, oblivion, braid, lost planet, kane and lynch, ninja gaiden and ninja gaiden 2, or fallout 3's dlc? what about mass effects developers refusing to say it is 360 exclusive? the fact is, xbox hardly had any exclusives to lose, so all of the lost exclusives so far have been 360 games. Sony on the other hand had 2 generations worth of games, so it's only logical that in today's age of rising development costs tha...
360 has lost just as many exclusives as ps3 had, and with the way the mass effect developers have been talking lately, they're about to lose another big one.
funny... i doubt you even read it, otherwise you would have noticed WHY it says it's the best looking game ever.
A hell of a lot cheaper than doing so with a PC that can run Crysis.
well, i would imagine they would offer the option to turn your head to look left and right, in addition to moving forward or backwards to be able to see more of the car around you.
Actually, no they are not. One is from GT5, the other is a real life shot. Which is which? (assuming you are referring to the screens in the article?)
I agree there, though it takes more to fool the eye into thinking it is seeing the real thing. So I'd still have to give my nod to GT5. Crysis looks simply amazing, but It's one isolated case that only runs well on a monster gaming rig. Try to get a $300 PC to make crysis look better than GT5. And try to make it do so in 3D with head tracking (also adding it's own 3d effect). you'd end up having to spend a great deal more.
guys, let's not forget that this article is not saying gt5 has the best graphics based on the actual 2d appearance of the game alone. it's the head tracking along with the 3d capability displayed recently at that trade show in berlin that rounds out the package to give this game a visual edge over every other console game ever made. yes, it is possible to adapt a pc to look that good, but only if you only like playing crysis and a small handfull of other games, because there are very few pc g...
In order to adapt a pc to run crysis in 3d with full head tracking, you're looking to drop enough cash to buy 5 PS3's and 5 copies of GT5.
800 cars... better lighting, 3D, head tracking, and ALL ON ONE DISC.
no more bumper car physics. full damage now included. a recent magazine article is even going so far now as to say that all cars can be damaged, though i'd wait for further confirmation on that one.
actually, the burden of proof rests upon you since you raised the question. and every bit of gameplay i've seen of gt5 looks miles ahead of any racing title ever released, not to mention that it is in full 3d with full 3d head tracking as well (read the article). i'd like to see forza do that...
crysis has no head tracking or 3d. well, 3d maybe if you have that nvidia setup, but no head tracking with it.
they have that bravia that makes any videogame connected via hdmi 3d...
Especially in full 3d + head tracking.
We're back online again. Sorry folks.
"It is coming to SOME 360's as well. I can't recall the exact name but they have been working on the software to make any ps3 and 360 with hdmi work with tv's that support 3d for both movies (any movie) and games."
Fixed.
And it's sony... their bravia takes any hdmi video game and converts it to 3d. still not as good as 3d rendered in-system like ps3 is getting though.
