no need for usb then!
HDMI 1.4 cables are cross compatible with older versions of HDMI, that doesn't mean Xbox 360 can do HDMI 1.4. True HDMI 1.4 (as in 2 HDMI 1.4 ports on either end and a 1.4 cable connecting them)transmits data at twice the rate that the 360's HDMI 1.2 allows for, which is why in order to do 3D 360 has to squeeze 2 standard def frames into a 720p frame buffer, and even then it's not guaranteed to work with a HDMI 1.4 compliant TV, as 1.4 is the only 3D standard. So, not all 3DTV'...
@ siren, doesn't change the fact that you're e-chatting with people... a cool thing to do once or twice, but only the most dedicated geeks would do it more than that. let's see this used in an actual game, where the characters react to your expressions (remember the eyedentify trailers back in 2005?), then i'll be impressed. so far, only one has talked about it, but nobody has come through with it.
It's just more of the same, no real games to keep people ...
The headset is going to be released, however Sony has not made any announcements about using the technology in the way this article describes. This was just pondering what the possibilities this new headset coupled with PS3/Move are. PSeye very easily could track a device like that to know where to pan the camera in a first person 3d game world.
and yes 360 fans, so can kinect. may not be quite as responsive (eye is capable of up to 120fps, so tracking may be faster on eye), ...
sony is also making glasses-less 3d sets, but they claim to have improved the viewing angle a good bit. that said, they will still never match the image quality of sets that use glasses. ghosting will always be there, and unless it costs a fortune expect a resolution decrease as well.
now that manufacturers are coming out with tv's that support polarized 3d glasses (the kind you get in the theater) which are dirt cheap, the "i don't want to have to wear expensiv...
um… come on. CES is a consumer electronics show, not a gaming show. add to that the fact that sony talking about ps3 being hacked at CES would only bring the issue to light in the mainstream media which would = more people knowing about it which = more ps3′s getting hacked, and you can see exactly why they made no mention of it. Not the time, nor place.
crap article. What's with any idiot posting 2 paragraphs as "news" these days?
but with a MUCH, MUCH larger install base of systems to sell to, so GT5 reaching the same sales is one hell of an accomplishment. In that regard, it's outselling GT4 quite well.
the 3d effect isn't as good as with them, and you can disable the 3d effect on any 3dtv, glasses or not.
Greenberg: The secret to a great exclusive is... space marines, guns, and an online mode. If it has those 3 things, and is on 360, it's better than anything on any other console.
the thing about these glasses free sets, the "3D Zone" is restricted to a small area right dead center in front of the TV. So, just like with a glasses based 3DTV, not everyone in the room is going to get to see it in 3D (at least with the old 3dtv's, you had the option of buying more pairs of glasses).
So, plan on possibly having to re-arrange your living room so 2 people can comfortably enjoy glasses free video in 3D. And plan on paying enough to buy 2-3 stand...
"There is no correlation between the three flashing red lights error and Kinect. Any new instances of the three flashing red lights error are merely coincidental,"
Translated:
Our boxes always break dumbass. Kinect had nothing to do with it, they just broke on their own because you were playing them.
nope, this new hack means no firmware update will be able to block it. they've actually figured out ps3's hardware encryption, so no matter what firmware is running on it, they can still fool the ps3 itself into thinking the code they are giving it is signed and directly from sony themselves. there is nothing sony can do about it. they still might be able to tell if you're running hacked firmware by what network features you use (especially if the hack allows cheating or something...
zag, the new hacks allow all ps3's to actually be jailbroken. no need for service mode anymore. however, the hackers are doing the right thing and not making fw that allows piracy. they could have just as easily.
Sony isn't going to go HDD snooping to try to catch pirates. AFAIK that isn't even in the privacy policy to allow them to do it.
lol... yeah. exactly. and all while standing up!
I've used it with john daly's prostroke golf, and it works quite well. (move, that is)
blu-ray burners are not $250 anymore... this dude's been living under a rock. You can get a dual layer 50gb burner for about $150, but the discs are still $10 for a dual layer. most games don't use dual layer though.
just like kinect!
it enables new types of control a keyboard cannot do. 3D positioning of windows, for instance. grab a window and move it into the background so you can pull another up closer to you. arrange a 3d desktop just by grabbing into the air. stuff like that. (like those playstation move tech demos we saw before it released)
Exactly, this shows prime sense has not intention of remaining exclusive to MS. They went into competition with them by releasing this FFS. While the exact tech in kinect may have some kind of console exclusivity, if this generation has taught us anything, that means nothing. A little change here and there to the way it works and suddenly you've got a loophole you can exploit in the contract.
Kinda like how Netflix had to use the disc in the PS3 until their contract for n...
sold to retail = sold for any of them. The make games/consoles, and sell them to wal mart/best buy/ etc.... not to us. They track THEIR sales, not the sales of those who they sell to. To them, it IS sold. The stores will only buy what they can sell. Yes, they do sometimes stuff the channel to inflate "sales", but none the less the store paid for that order.
