PS3 also uses tesselation in GT5 for it's damage modeling.
PS3 does as well, via the SPU's.
shipped. a fact that would have been blasted all over these comments had it been sony claiming that number, but since it's MS everyone's all hush hush about the "shipped" thing.
That said, even 10 mil shipped is a good start, but it's sales are trailing off. None of it's games are on the software charts anymore, and without hot new content to keep people coming, it won't last long. Ms really has to step up their game for both 360 and kinect when...
it was a joke dude... making fun of the fact that this article (and MS) seems to see a need in comparing apples to oranges.
This just in: Move selling twice as fast as the Schick Quatro razor! 4 times as fast as tropicana orange juice!
you can share ps+ content the same way you do psn content.
yeah, but I'd rather have a pair of cheap plastic glasses break on me than have a pair of $120 active LCD shutter glasses break...
why? they aren't the issue sitting in a theater, why at home? no difference other than the location. and don't buy the active shutter glasses tv's, the glasses are far too expensive. they are making passive sets that let you use the same cheap glasses you use at the movie theaters, so you can affordably have enough glasses for everyone in the room.
autostereoscopic is nice, but two facts remain. it will NEVER look as good as 3D created with glasses, and it will al...
active 3D sets, nah. (use lcd shutter glasses, expensive and they darken the image)
passive 3d sets, yeah. (uses cheap movie theater glasses, doesn't darken the image)
autostereoscopic glasses-free - not yet. viewing angles suck, and price is sky high.
ok... so it's ok to view a certain film from time to time in a movie theater in 3D, and wear glasses... but if you want to occasionally watch a movie or occasionally play a game in 3D at home, it's not?
that doesn't make any sense. I don't see why the location matters. I personally prefer the privacy of my own home where I can crack open a beer and fire one up while enjoying 3D content. and it's not like EVERYTHING you watch on that tv is in 3D or you are ...
keep an eye on the passive 3D sets, that use the cheap movie theater glasses. that will be the lowest cost option.
Well, at least by doing it that way you don't have to worry about bluetooth connectivity on your pc or being tethered to a usb cable. that, and sony doesn't have to code up windows drivers for both eye and move.
the possibilities are still endless. I do agree it is a setback, but Sony doesn't want people buying move without ps3 to be used on pc's. while i don't see that as a particularly bad thing, they do.
Killzone 3 and MAG are 2 of the best motion controlled games I've ever played on any system. Move has my interest more these days than standard games do. I think Move is doing fine, though it does need that killer move-only app like sorcery to come along. Still, that doesn't mean the move-added games like the ones I mentioned are boring by any means. I enjoy them very much, even if they didn't get designed for move. That shows off how versatile move really is.
beat me to it... if it has a move enabled bong minigame, that would be funny. or if it just uses kinect to track the use of a real bong.
This is going to be so stupid. "sit and flail your arms like an idiot to make him swim!"
nothing like real swimming when you're not laying down horizontally. This is one sport that kinect shouldn't touch. Move either for that matter.
um... he's a hacker, not a pirate.
GeoHot has my support. He never hacked PS3 to enable piracy, he just hacked the ps3. what people do with it from there is their choice. And don't be pissed at him, if it weren't him another kid would have found the amazing stupidity of a security system Sony built into the PS3.
And look at how bad piracy is hurting PS3 now... wait... you mean to tell me people don't like buying $100 burners so they can download 40GB's of data to burn onto a disc that costs $10...
I bet that was the scam all along. "George, we're seeing a decline in new XBL memberships... how can we make people think this is worth more money?" ... "Well Bill, we could jack the price up without adding anything new, and then make then think they're getting a deal when they pay a few bucks less than they were paying originally."
PSN's approach:
"Well, we need a way to get money out of them. What do we do? Make them pay...
umm... move was the first system to bring augmented reality onto consoles. i'd say that's pretty damn innovative. What did kinect innovate? seriously, other than being able to see in 3D, how is it any different than an eyetoy?
Depth sensing is innovative, but it also comes at the cost of lag (Which increases with each player you add to the mix.). And the controller free approach is actually a step backwards, removing the ability for precision gestures, triggers, or bu...
PS3 is still selling very well, they have no need to abandon this generation right now. If they announce a new system before 2012 i'll be surprised. This could mean a number of things. them extending the PS3's life cycle (it's far from dead), or they could have found a better hardware route to take, and decided to drop their current approach in favor of something better.
newsflash! the only thing any real sexuality has to do in gaming is cheap gimmicks (bouncing tits in DOA or NG, sex minigames in GOW, etc).
and let's face it, there are far more straight people in the world, and that majority doesn't want to see kratos trying to poke some other dude's shit pipe.
