yeah.. i agree. just a "don't worry 360 fans, you can still buy our game" to counter all the pro-ps3 hype from them lately.
cross platform chat on ps3/PC now... at least for this one game. however, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony begin to exploit this ability.
here's another secret. nobody is doing that with kinect's hacks. and while most of the hacks make interesting tech demos, few would be very good when put into an actual game. Also, prime sense (the company that made kinect's tech) is releasing a better version of kinect for PC. That's when the hacks should get really interesting.
games like kung fu live are designed around the camera's limitations, which is not the case with SF4. It would make the game mor...
not only that, but you feel the ball hit the virtual "racket" as well. and it can detect every minute twist of your wrist, it's EXACT angle (down to the millimeter level), and things like that which really do matter a lot when simulating tennis.
it does have about a 150-300ms lag (depending on the number of players), which for more simplistic games is doable, but for a tennis simulator you will notice it. that, and the feel is different whacking at a ball with your hand then holding a virtual "racket" and swinging at it. it's a much more natural playing experience on the other consoles. VT on 360 will be better played with standard controls.
only with move or motion plus, you won't get that kind of accuracy with kinect. there is no way for it to see minor twists of the wrist needed to put the slightest amount of spin on the ball.
more cat and mouse, give it a few weeks, another patch will release.
why is it that everyone is trying to link this to the jailbreak when this game has been hacked long before then?
but there's so much coming from pc gaming, that they're still playing prettied up versions of the console games and the occasional MMORPG, RTS, or FPS. And yet, the best games of the generation aren't available on PC.
do you have a tennis court sized living room? didn't think so. have you seen kinect track wrist movements down to the slightest twist without lagging or glitching at all? didn't think so. now you know why it isn't possible. Kinect can do a lot, but there are many things it just cannot do being a camera only system. It cannot see little twists of your wrist, or the EXACT (down to the millimeter) angle of your hand, and all of these things are very important in a tennis sim. add lag...
and buttons to move with.
what? you won't get anywhere near the accuracy of actually swinging the controller and it detecting the top spin you put on the ball with a DS3. nice try.
Not only that, but it lacks the accuracy to detect minute things like spin put on the ball. You can't have a game called top spin where you can't put... top spin on the ball.
how do you know valve won't put kb/m support into the ps3 version? it has usb ports and bluetooth capability, it's more than capable of handling keyboard and mouse input. it's already been done in some games like UT3.
it has far too much developer support to flop like VB did though.

pwner, I own a video production company and hold 8-10lb. cameras in my hands while extended out in front of me for hours at a time, and I have to remain completely still the entire time. I still do not want to be forced to do this just to enjoy a game. I'd rather have better accuracy, less lag, and the relaxing nature traditional controller based motion control offers. That way I can focus on actually aiming properly, not having to worry about the fatigue induced on my arm after playing f...
he was using the keyboard to move, and his fist to look around. when he starts firing the weapon, that's when the mouse wins hands down. notice the lag and how some shots don't actually fire when he wants them to. kinect has a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go before it can ever even think of replacing a mouse. Move can't even do that and it's lag free and a heck of a lot more accurate.
if you're into waiting a quarter second for your gun to fire or for your movement to register, and having an arm that is worn out 5 minutes into the match, go for it. Meanwhile, us Wii and Move players will be actually competing in online shooters with ease, all while resting our arms on our lap.
same reason millions of others like them did... HYPE.
