not me... i'm not waiting on displays that do it on their own. it'll be 5-10 years before they get it right and cheap enough to warrant a purchase. As of now, autostereoscopic image quality sucks (you lose resolution), and it has a very bad viewing angle problem where you must be within a certain distance and dead center to the TV to see the (not as good as with glasses) 3D effect. Add to that banding that appears if you move your head while viewing (think screen tearing times 100), a...
while the trophies may have random timestamps, it doesn't change the fact that they are all submitted to sony's servers at the same time. unless they put in a feature to gradually unlock each trophy over a period of time, sony could easily snoop out the cheaters.
I always was an avid dual shocker myself, until I started playing MAG with the Move. Now I won't play it without it. I was playing Homefront today and it actually took time for me to re-adjust to the controller. I really like using move with a FPS, provided I can get into that "sweet spot" that provides the best accuracy for precise aim (within 8 feet of the eye. I have a large living room so if I sit in the rear of the room it begins to get a bit floaty).
and yet it falls flat on it's face when put against wii sports or sports champions.
and yet not one single piece of kinect software makes the top 10 charts for december or for 2010 as a whole.
December 2010 Top 10 Games (New Physical Retail only; across all platforms incl. PC)
01. Call of Duty: Black Ops** (360, PS3, Wii, NDS, PC) ACTIVISION BLIZZARD
02. Just Dance 2 (Wii) UBISOFT
03. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm** (PC) ACTIVISION BLIZZARD
04. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood** (360, PS3) UBISOFT
05. Donkey Kong Count...
what an idiot. "realist"? IS in the wrong place... this guy can't even write! realist isn't a word. it should read:
"Is Heavy Rain the most realistic game ever made?"
A little grammar lesson for you there HHG.
kinect tracks pixels too man. it just has Z depth pixels to track as well (though not as many of them, as it operates at half to one quarter (60-120fps) of the frame rate eye does.). this tech with move could pull off a very similar effect, as long as the eye could use move to know your exact distance from the camera at all times. it would improve it's already good accuracy even more.
I did a lag test yesterday and it responded well under a half of a second. i'd estimate a 100-200ms lag there. about on par with the best kinect has done so far.
I too am a musician, and have not been hurt in the least by piracy. Until you hit a certain level, all that does for you is give you exposure. IF you're trying to make a living as a less than famous musician off of album sales, you're doing it wrong. Touring is the only way for someone who doesn't have a major label deal to make anything. Album sales come later, and even then are still secondary income.
Theft is wrong, but modifying my ps3 to encode video for me i...
No, but do we see MS doing anything different? *looks @ kinectimals* nope. didn't think so.
sony just screwed up big time. now the whole hacker community is going to go after them and gladly release tools to allow pirating.
fact remains, as much as I like to support sony, if I paid $600 for a machine I better be able to do whatever the hell I want with it. if they are too incompetent to provide security to prevent piracy, I shouldn't have to suffer if I want to install custom software on my box that I paid for with my hard earned money.
I persona...
last time i checked...
legal>>>>>ille gal (most of the time).
working console>>>>>ban ned console.
look how laggy it is when he turns. i had once thought that if MS released a move like device for kinect, it would be cool. but, if they don't put motion sensors in it that don't have to rely on kinect for tracking, it's going to be too laggy. lag won't do in call of duty.

You don't have to buy nav controllers, so take that cost off right there (I use my ds3 to play mag with move all the time, works great). and just because you can play a game with a standard controller does not mean the move does not add to the experience. that's the stupidest logic i've ever heard. trying to take move's versatility and make it look like a bad thing. Do you know why standard games also support move? BECAUSE THEY CAN. unlike kinect, wh...
I agree with you there, there's plenty of interesting things that could be done with it if they actually would, but as of now they are putting all their eggs in the twee little "casual games for the whole family" basket. the problem is, they have no established franchises those folks are familiar with, and simple party games only take you so far. they need to get serious about developing real games for kinect that offer more than a 10 minute play and run experience. something to...
thenickel, do you not hear all the 360 fans around here saying "if this is what 360 is going to be from now on, i'm getting a ps3"... those people are the core audience that has made 360 what it is today. MS is turning their backs on them while the competition is bringing it better than ever. That is going to hurt MS in the long run. Wii has far too much competition in the casual world for kinect to keep up. Wii is more versatile, offering motion control and also offering other ...
" If sony relies on games like Mag and KillZone to sell Move, then Move is officially dead."
Sony isn't relying on any of that, they're just offering it ALSO. Unlike another company...
Let me fix that quote.
"If MS relies on games like Kinect Joy Ride to sell 360, then 360 is officially dead."
Even the Wii offers more gaming versatility than kinect. Party games will only carry a platform so far. Yo...
US: 6 million
EU: 1.99 million
Japan: 0.01 million

Congrats to kinect, good opening sales. however, as sony stated, I think move will have more staying power. It's just got the games kinect doesn't. I can't play anything like MAG on kinect. It's all I play on Move now. We're hearing games like tiger woods are dropping kinect support because it just can't handle it... things like that will begin to show their faces a ...
PS3 is 1.3a, which has all of the features 1.4 has but cannot do the 100mbps ethernet connectivity (allowing you to have network connection, video, and sound in one wire). It has the same bandwidth of 1.4a otherwise, which is what allows it to be able to send 3D video to a 1.4 port.
HDMI 1.2 and earlier all have half the bandwidth of 1.3/1.4.
you make a good point.
