User chose to use the PS4 controller in a manner inconsistent with what Sony advertised the controller to be able to do.
User neglected to put the PS4 in a state where it could not be turned on accidentally.
User error. Twice. End of story.
So, if PS4 was already well ahead of XB1 in sales, and XB1's sales almost rose by 100% because of TF, then PS4's sales increased by 75%, it's very likely PS4 will still remain in the #1 spot despite the TF hype.
Not even Titans can save the bone at this point... and Halo is still months away from a proper reveal, and even farther from an actual release. I don't think it'll arrive in time to save the bone's sales. I see a price cut coming worldwide befo...
Every console's sales are slowing in Japan, with PS4 being well ahead of the rest. Japanese people just prefer handhelds over consoles these days. However, in all markets where console sales are healthy, PS4 remains extremely hard to find. I've tried to find my sister one and another friend who wanted one a console over the past few weeks. Not an easy task. As soon as both had spent their money Amazon got another stock in and held onto it for about 2-3 days, but it was sold out again ...
"I don't recall in Killzone being able to control the AI and make it follow or guard you?"
Actually, your personal drone bot in KZ:SF will do just that. That has been a gameplay mechanic in shooters for years now. Nothing new.
"Hmm, I recall they just shoot at you and yes, the Bots are purposefully designed as cannon fodder, Respawn have admitted that themselves. Why do you think the Titan AI is so smart and able to kill not only Pilots but...
So, Arbitor's logic states that the bots are dumb on purpose... the titans are supposedly way smarter even though games like Killzone: SF have demonstrated equally if not more advanced AI techniques from enemies... and then he goes on to try to justify his point by giving anecdotal evidence of his experience playing against AI characters on an 8 year old game system...
Pure comedy gold right there.
You seem to forget the bot AI, which is pretty much what you'd expect out of a MP game bot. Terrible. Little more than cannon fodder. I guess all the servers were too busy handling AI for the few titans running around the map? Cloud powah!
@fireseed, that's called a dedicated server, it has little to do with cloud computing in the way MS talked it up... such as their claims of it making the Xbox One 4x more powerful.
Many PS games also have dedicated servers, with low pings and no changing host messages.
MS' cloud computing claims were claims of cloud aided rendering, AI, etc... we're not seeing that materialize. They claimed Forza used it, but nobody noticed. They claim titanfall...
@omega
It would require a resolution downgrade to do VR, but also would require a framerate upgrade (at least 60fps per eye to keep you from getting dizzy). So, PS4 VR games won't look like Infamous: Second Son while running at 1080p, but possibly at 720p with a couple other shortcuts. For the experience of being fully immersed in a virtual world with head tracking and all that jazz, it's a compromise I'd be willing to make. I imagine some sort of framerate scali...
"Hey, let's write a song about Nintendo!"
"Ok... let's see, a love song, about a girl, we'll mention Nintendo in one line of the chorus and then try to rhyme a bunch of stuff with it. It'll be great!"
I only have a counter for BS...
Framerate drops in an online shooter can get you killed. It isn't just some minor annoyance, it can actually have a negative effect on the gameplay other than just making the game look like a slideshow.
@kendrick, I saw an image posted for PS now where week long rentals were free and buying access to the game was like $10.
Here it is: https://pbs.twimg.com/media...
"They add to the environment.. They make the map feel alive.. "
More alive than having actual living people controlling them?
"Ignore them if you want.. Or kill em as you see them... Or use them as decoys.. Or hack them.."
Or just include more people in the game and give people the option to deploy a decoy if they choose?
"Having them around makes it feel like a real battlefield.. They are carrying fa...
Exactly. This isn't the first shooter to use mechs or other large vehicles in a mutliplayer environment. Make a limited number of them available to the team, and have them respawn slower than other vehicles... just like everyone else has been doing for years.
My beef with it is the fact that they claim they don't have room for more players, but then toss in AI that are little more than filler. They offer no real challenge compared to the human players, and pretty much get in the way. I'd rather the AI get dropped in favor of more human players.
PS4 is also constrained by low stock. Demand is far exceeding supply.
Yeah, it's the ISP, it couldn't possibly be the game. I mean, look at all the other games that depend on you having a certain ISP in order to play them properly! Look at all the games that have had to have entire countries taken off the release list due to internet infrastructure. And for what? A 6v6 mech game.
He remained classy. He just stated a point and left it at that. He didn't say anything was better or worse than anything else. He didn't lie, spin, or stretch the truth. Just revealed their policy in a rather funny way.
Cutting off their nose to spite their face, as they say.
It isn't patriotism. Most gamers in the USA don't give a damn about where their consoles come from. It's Microsoft's online service, obsession with the FPS games, FUD, hype, and massive advertising budgets around here that create the sales. They successfully tapped into the MTV generation and became the "in" thing to have if you were into gaming. Sony lagged behind XBL for the majority of PS3's lifespan, and they still have not recovered from that. If you don'...
