This is on Nintendo to do right by the customer, no excuses. However... there is no law saying they “have” to refund any digital preorder or sale. Also this pertains to people who preorder and download the game to which I believe both Xbox and Sony won’t refund either (I could be wrong). But I’ve seen cases at least here stateside that all major publishers (Sony, Xbox, Steam, and Nintendo) have refunded customers in certain instances. Either way, the law needs to be reworded.

Why a score of 19? Why not just round up to 20? Or a 10, 19 just seems random.

I would absolutely double dip on Horizon for the PC, it was easily my favorite PS4 game this gen.

To be fair many are random phone games. I really wish Nintendo would do a better filter on their shop their stuff... or at least have a rating system. But, it’s really good to see Nintendo get support this time round, yeah many are shoveware-ish games, but they definitely gotten their fair share of 3rd party support too.

The amount money needed to secure the rights to any sole exclusivity to this behemoth of a franchise would be almost be astronomical. Unless it was for something like a years worth of exclusivity, I can’t see how Sony (or anyone) could see a potential return on investment.
That being said, I could foresee Sony maybe getting the online portion first or deals for the potential DLC.

Yeah but there’s always those customers. Anyone who’s worked retail knows that no matter how well or how poorly a product is named or described, there’s always those few that get very confused... then angry... and they want to argue how your store has to few bathrooms and exits... *shudder*

Customer: I want (or my kid wants) the newest Xbox.
Retail Associate: Here you go.

I think Uncharted has run its course. In theory you could revamp it with a entirely new character set, but I would just the series be. Besides, I hope Sony tells Naught Dog to create a new IP for the PS5... worked out pretty well for them when they came out with The Last of Us

Nintendo is Nintendo, they have succeeded and failed based upon their own choices. Nintendo for many many gamers isn’t a primary console, it’s a great secondary option for those that like Nintendo games and the occasional exclusive. I’m sure ports from either PS5 and Xbox will cease once those two are out, but maybe some developers may continue to try and port some games from the PS4 and Xbox 1 library over and the continuing addition of some great indie games will keep the system going. I would definitely take a switch port if they make one.

Interesting, but it makes sense.

Well considering you need a PS4 to play the PSVR, the Vita is well, the Vita, the PS3 is a great option if you’ve never used a PS4 before, so I would say the obvious in PS4

I’m a huge Zelda fan, and really loved Breathe of Wild... but I too thought the music was just either too subtle or non-existent. For a series that some amazing music, that was really big disappointment to me.

Highly doubt it. While the Fallen Order is achieving some well deserved sales success, I can almost guarantee you that it is just a drop in the pan from a profit standpoint in comparison to everything else EA monetizes the figurative crap out of. I just hope they give BioWare some space to do DragonAge some single player (non-micro transaction) justice...

It added diversity to the video game industry. They added more games with mature narrative themes that for most part you weren’t going to get with Nintendo at least. Being a huge FF 2&3 fan from the SNES, the PS1 was a must have with FFVII for me... even though we already had a N64. That generation to me is still my favorite, so many great franchises and evolutions of great franchises happened that gen. Not sure we’ll ever see one like that again.

I wouldn’t call it terrible. It’s definitely a transition year though, moving most of their developers over to the PS5. I haven’t gotten to Days Gone yet, and Death Stranding is just not for me, but it’s not like they didn’t release anything or release just terrible games.

You are much stronger person than I am. I always cave when a new system comes out even after knowing that 1. A revision and/or hardware upgrade will be available 2. There so rarely any good launch games 3. The deals on consoles get so good after about a year or two

At first I was against the idea of these mid-gen upgrade models...but then I started thinking about the past couple of gens and I usually get a launch system and then trade in for a the hardware revision at some point mid-gen anyway. So since I’m apparently buying two system during the course of its lifespan, it might as well be one with a hardware upgrade.

Wow... ease up there tiger... how many consoles allowed us to keep digital purchases from gen to gen? I can only think of one.

I mean it’s a nice award and very well deserved. But the authors points are valid in regards to timing and specificity. But even it is a marketing ploy, it’s fun to reminisce over the past 25 yrs of the PS brand, for the most it’s been excellent.
