I wonder if he can now push Nintendo to implement a decent a structure online network now that he's played around with the competition. Beyond anything else, I think that's where Nintendo could most improve.
Yeah but the biggest difference is... they still have stock in some places where as here in the States at least you'd have to camp out at a retail store to find one. Consoles are just not going to be as popular to Japanese as they once were. Don't get me wrong, the PS4 will have that market by a landslide but mobiles are killing it there.
@UltraNova he's not talking about systems, he's talking about games and it's true sales don't always equal quality. If you're going to get 100hrs of straight fun quality multiplayer gaming for $60, that doesn't seem like a bad deal at all. Where as you might have a 10-15hr single player game that's $60, I guess it's all about the experience you get for the money you spend.

Decent article but the biggest issue I have with it is it's assuming that if Nintendo were to re-dedicate themselves to the core/hardcore gamer there would actually be money in it. Look at the PS3/360/Wii era, Sony and Microsoft lost billions in the HD generation even with their systems selling in 80 millions each with countless software hits between the two. Now even with the PS4 selling out every where they are selling the system at a loss and each AAA game costing an average of 20-30...

Aliens Colonial Marines is such a bad example, that game coming out for any system was bad. And besides 1st party 2nd party and Indie developers seem to be supporting the system just fine.
That would make much more sense. I didn't think that bundle had been preordered by a million people. It will interesting to see the march numbers though.
Lol true, I just wonder if this when this 1 million extra sold data was pulled? If it has been I the past two weeks I would consider that a strong correlation to titanfall but outside of two weeks I'd question those numbers being related to the game itself.

They lost 3.3 billion in 2008, lost 4.7 billion in 2009, $890 million loss in 2010, $312 million loss in 2011, 2.8 billion loss in 2012, only 8 million in 2013. So you sir need to do some major research first. Oh and the PS4 is selling at a loss too.

It's a new reseach and development building... expanding companies need new buildings, I'm not sure on how and why that would be considered an ego massage? Not to mention there is literally no word what exactly is going into this building... could it be their QOL stuff, sure, could it be R&D on new systems or software development who knows... but no need to just go and troll on.
It would have helped sell systems regardless of what day it came out. Hell the 360 verison will help sell 360s too, its all money back to microsoft. This game, if sold by hype alone, would push systems out the door.

Simply a business decision no more than that. EA Sports is going to need to be more efficient with their sports titles now that they can't exploit us with rehashes of NCAA titles. It makes me sick to my stomach that they hold the NFL license and 2k doesn't

It was going to happen especially with such a hyped release. I unfortunately believe the same thing will happen to Infamous... this why I will never trust user review scores for console exclusives, too many people that have way too much time on their hands will skew the scores.
