Look we all know that xbox gold free games hasn't been nearly as good as PSN + but Civ revolution is an awesome freaking game that of which I would take over metro last light and next months offering of tomb raider any day of the week.

lol yeah i saw that too, but I don't think its going to stop them from making another one... kind like I don't see Kevin Levine departing stopping 2K from making another Bioshock.

You're right not every game needs to use the second screen outside of the off-tv play, but the machine was built to utilize the second screen as unique offering and right now outside of NintendoLand, Rayman, and ZombieU there aren't whole lot of inventive things happening with it. I don't know, right now I have the PS4 and Wii U, I would like to see cool things done with second screen like what people did with the DS/3DS.

I think he's saying they're not creative enough to come up with a use for the second screen. I love all the elborate excuses not to put a game on the Wii U... why can't just be honest and say, look at has low install base and we don't want to spend the money to port it over? Is that, that hard?

My friend at the Sony Store in town is getting laid off in March/April, but he's getting a decent severance check. It is what it is I guess. New Ips are always cool on paper but usually business priorities take precedent. It's not like Sony's financial problems can be ignored, they have to make cuts across the board. Hopefully this will allow them to be more nimble as a company and allow them to focus more on things that actually make them money.

@choujij I was speaking more specifically to the US numbers above. It looks like the PS4 has an attach rate of roughly 2 and the Xbox has 2.5 games purchased. I know I bought NBA2k and Battlefield. Generally speaking I would have thought of attach rate closer to 2.5 to 3 for both consoles.
@MysticStrummer I miss the days where launch titles really showed off a systems abilities or uniqueness . I bought two 3rd multiplats with a ton of replay ability to hopefully keep me going unti...

I honestly want to know what the PS4 buyers here in the states are purchasing (game wise)? I mean the thing is still selling out but according to this list of software no one is really buying games... I wonder what the PS + memembership attach rate is looking like and whether these buyers are just going through that to get a few free games? It's very interesting to see early adatopers purchasing a system wil the obvious potential for great games vs having them up front.

lol seems to be the consistant theme behind the blogs/article or non-news posted.

Exactly, none of my xbox friends care. They and the majority of the xbox/titanfall fans knew a bundle was going to happen. They didn't expect the game to be free, but they don't care.

I don't people have forgotten it, just ignoring it.

So by your argument any site that has playstation and/or xbox shouldn't be taken seriously? So are you looking for a photo-realistic Super Mario with sweat, advanced particle effects in explosion and fireballs? X looks next-gen, Bayonetta looks next-gen, if what Project Cars is currently showing looks even close to what a Wii U build can do... that looks next gen. There's plenty of untapped potential in each of the next gen machines, if you think The Order, The Division, X, or name...

I agree with your list. The PS2 came just as I was going into college and the #1 reason we (roomates and I) got it was because yes it played PS1 games but it was DVD player! DVD players were going for $150 plus at the time and that was a sure deal to us a long with many of us in the dorms. Plus Madden...

I'm really jealous of that game collection behind that guy.

I'm sure there's plenty of legit business reasons for this happening, it sucks but it's still pretty common in the industry. I mean it could have been because the game was up to par with what Sony wanted and maybe they decided to throw resources (money) to another IP that is working. Plus, lets not forget Sony is going some major coporate restructering, and this could be aside effect. These guys have AAA development experience with SSM, they'll find work.

Yeah they released the 80gb model maybe a year after the intial release with the front card slot, some of the usb ports, and backwards PS2 compatiabilty. It was a good deal to those waiting out that $600 price tag. Besides to those of us love movies getting a playstation AND an awesome blu-ray for $400 was one hell of a deal in 2008/2009.

It's just a short term solution to a long term problem. This game was always going to bundled IMO. It has to be obvious (should have been obvious when PS4 revealed its launch price) that the Xbox was never going to keep up with the PS4 at the $500 price, I don't think this is desperate attempt as I'm sure they are looking at ways to quickly bring down the price long-term. Desperate would be to sell the thing at $350 taking a take a $150 dollar loss.

4486d ago 3 agree3 disagreeView comment

I'm pretty sure this would have happened by default.

It's just business. But seriously, if anyone who was an early adopter and saw that $500 price tag and didn't think that price cut wouldn't happen at some point in the first year, they are kidding themselves. There was no way Microsoft was going to keep up with the Playstaion at that price.
