@bradth yet MS could not help themselves but to use the term "console release exclusive" every chance they got. MS is in trouble in that they will sell a console without providing ample reason to justify purchasing it since many of their own studios have no near term releases in sight. MS is paying for their lack of vision when they designed and marketed the X1 upon release.

By exclusives does this mean timed exclusives which were already in development by 3rd parties? I'll have to assume that is the case. 2-3 years (or perhaps more) is a ways off. Actions speak louder than words. We'll have to see what is really delivered. I have to wonder if MS business decisions back 3-5 years ago show they thought gaming was going mobile / casual and thus they spent less effort on cultivating various console AAA games. Whatever the case, it will take time for MS to r...

MS has nothing to lose at this point. They are in a weak position install base wise and with attach rate for games. I have a hard time trusting MS. They often over promise and under deliver.

Spencer saved the xbox brand to a degree. Had he not been there and xbox stayed it's original course they would be in an even worse position. However, until such time as MS really delivers not once or twice but many more times on an excellent unique games lineup I will be skeptical of their ability to deliver. Announcements are great but let's not confuse them with actual game releases. No marketing fluff, paid promotion, or other BS. Just great unique games in the hands of regular ...

I suspect the reduced frame rate for both Pro and X1X are related to the CPU's not the GPU's in both consoles. Not sure, but is my guess.

I'd really like to play it on pc but think I'll end up on PS4 as that's where most of my friends will be playing. Perhaps I will also get for pc.

I'll use my PC for any specific MS first party games.

I agree. These articles are just ridiculous. Trying to diminish a show that was full of content. Sony setting up for a great 2018 and likely a very strong holiday season this year. And frankly I feel the same for MS's show. They both did decent job. Trying to raise yourself up by pushing someone else down is not a successful strategy. Do I think X1X will dominate the market suddenly? No. But if the product works for some people, fine by me. Enjoy your gaming platform of choice. Kinda gl...

I think if PS4 Pro drops to $299 by holiday season it will sell very well. But it will likely never outsell Slim if that price also drops. Goes to show that in the real world many consumers just want to play games and not spend a fortune doing it. Granted that's not me, I spend more than I rightfully should, but mass market is surely about price more than specs.

LOL - perfect.

It does seem that MS's industrial design is lacking. It's not exactly a stunning looking piece of gear.

And that will continue to be MS's Achilles heel. Their games lineup is weak in comparison to Sony's. And correcting that problem takes time as development clearly is a long process. And what happens if one of their anticipated exlusives is not very good? Say for example, Sea of Thieves underwhelms. It feels like they have almost no margin for error on first party titles in development.

Umm ultimately at $499 there is zero chance of me purchasing a new MS console. Between PS4 and PC I feel there is zero need for it for me. State of Decay could be fun but would I buy a console to play it? Probably not. If it is on PC I will consider it.

Bioware's ability to deliver is very suspect right now. Don't be fooled by early reveal and marketing spin. We'll see after they release. No chance of pre-order from me. Their last two major releases have been meh to poor. DA:I was fair and unfortunately ME:A really under delivered. I refuse to get hyped for their product at this stage. It could be great but they could easily screw it up too.

Typical MS marketing spin. They have such a poor marketing department. Sometimes I think MS marketing does more harm than good for their product promotion.

MS marketing machine in high gear trying to generate hype. Upper hand? Upper hand in what?

As a shareholder I hope they don't "take the hit". Taking the hit means take the loss. Take the loss for how long? And when your competitor can also just release a new console with higher spec to counter I think it's a bad decision to "take the hit". I am sure fans are looking for a mic drop moment but that is short lived. Where are they 6-12 months from now? Taking losses on hardware while you competitor has a cheaper console and more games. Not exactly a strong p...

I agree that patience better serves us as consumers. But I find I also like the compressed game announcement to release method. e.g. announce game and in 6-8 months it releases, versus a 3-5 year (or more) lead time.

I am a complete noob wrt GoW series. I do enjoy it. I have to say I like the Play Anywhere capability with cloud saves for GoW 4. Granted I prefer playing on my pc but sometimes kicking back on the couch works for me.

For anyone who likes RPG games, Dragon Age Origins is the best in the series (IMO).
