Scared? No. But never rest on your laurels. Don't take your customer base for granted. I hope that Sony is not over confident. I don't get the feeling they are at this time.
I wonder if MS will try to manufacture demand? Create some appearance of high demand by limiting stock? I am sure the last thing MS wants is images of full on displays of X1X consoles just sitting there collecting dust. Also how many of the X1X purchases are to new XBox console owners versus existing X1 customer base? I still believe this product is aimed at stopping the bleeding of losing customers to Sony. Will MS grow market share with this? I'd be surprised if they take market share ...
"Xbox One Has the Edge Over PS4 in All But One Area: Exclusive Games"
Oh and one other area it has not just an edge but clear advantage...... sales. The marketplace has voted. I'm sorry but all this X1X talk leading to an MS resurgence is so pathetic. Clearly just lame MS marketing machine hype.
@BeasrX Is this a MS marketing exec account?
MS marketing was never going to say initial demand was underwhelming. So there is no way to know if this is in fact true or just manufactured buzz by PR.
The execs cannot admit they are short on interesting true exclusive first party content. They'll never admit their product shortcomings. Watch what they do not what they say. It takes more time to develop software than an iterative piece of hardware. MS had two major flaws, HW and SW. They seek to correct one of those with X1X but the software piece will take much more time. It's ironic that a software company did such a poor job developing their own stable of studios to develop gam...
Sometimes I think MS marketing needs new fresh faces as the front people. Not sure the cast of characters they put out front is more of a hindrance than a help. And using white gloves? Really? I am surprised he didn't don the whole clean room suit.
If MS spent half as much energy on developing a true first party games development as they do on marketing spin, maybe they would not need to PR spin so much and have actual exclusives. Their priorities are so misplaced. They hope to convince the larger consuming public they have exclusives as many are not really attuned to the business as others. So they'll see the term exclusive online or in a store and think they have something special.
I think what Greenberg means is they have the biggest in terms of file sizes. /s Marketing people are like politicians. If they say something enough times they convince themselves it's true. PR means Public Relations. But nowadays PR is more synonymous with spin, lying, etc.
I wish it could be a new portable. But doubtful. I'll guess either some peripheral for PS4 or limited edition model.

You can please all of the people some of the time.
You can't please all of the people all of the time.
I enjoyed D1. Not as much as some did but I met a ton of great ppl. I will play D2 and am hopeful it will be an even better experience.
I agree it did damage adoption of the system. I read an article that they chose a proprietary format for storage to limit / reduce software piracy. In the long run though it would seem their choice did far more harm than good. I still use my Vita from time to time but not as much as I would have liked.
Regressions are nothing surprising in software development. With such a small company I imagine QA doesn't have the manpower to do full on regression testing. The bugs will be patched.
I imagine this was a decision of the platform companies not government since it was not also censored on pc.
They censored the previous title in EU? Or just PEGI rated high?
Going bankrupt and going out of business are two different things. Filing for bankruptcy can be debt restructure not necessarily closing the doors. It is unclear from the article if this is assumed that they will cease manufacturing due to bankruptcy. However, a acquiring a different supplier(s) seems prudent.
I was initially planning to buy now ti is likely off my list. The inclusion of MTs could have a drastic impact on game balance and skew towards providing incentive to pay for MTs as progression could be terribly slow without doing so. To say that MTs have no impact on the game is not necessarily true. I am not a proponent of MTs in a single player RPG type game Voting with my wallet which in this case is likely keeping my money in it.
Although I like D1. I have to agree. What annoyed me with D1 was the repetition and lack of diversity for builds. I have read that additional dev studios were being brought on board which is supposed to help them create a more frequent release of new content, etc.
This is a wait and see now. No day 1 and possibly no purchase at all.
Although I agree the pc version felt and looked great, I will play on PS4 as that is where most people I know will be playing.
