For multiplayer I'd have to say Vanilla WoW.
For single play, I really enjoyed TLOU.
Here's my best guess. Seeing as nobody wants to talk about the duration of the exclusivity, it would seem this would at some point come out on PS4. Perhaps a year later after X1. MS clearly wants to tamp down talk of the duration of the deal. They are paying for the exclusivity even if for a limited time. Why are they paying? To drive sales of X1. So if ppl think the duration of the deal is some open ended time frame they may be persuaded in the short run to buy an X1 to play the title...
I picked up GTA V fo PS4 pre-owned copy at GS for $34.99. What a crazy good gaame. I saw that Shadow or Mor. was onsale for $24.99. May pick that up.
I wonder how much of negative press or negative social media content is driven by marketing teams from competing systems? Try to talk down a competitors exclusive content in an attempt to diminish the brand. Not sure this happens but I imagine as a strategy, marketing can talk up their products while at the same time driving negative press about the competition. And of course in the console wars one side loves to pile on the other side via fanboy comments and articles. Much of this negativity...
Well we'll just have to wait and see won't we? Reading between the lines is the thought that somehow DX12 will make the X1 superior to a PS4. That is setting oneself up for disappointment if it does not pan out that way. The MS marketing team is doing everything they can to chip away at the notion their HW platform is less powerful as clearly that was identified as a perception by many people. Will DX12 make X1 a better platform? Probably so. The pitfall is setting a dangerously hi...
I don't see MS taking the U.S. market regardless of how they had to do a 180 turn. Sounds more like wishful thinking and intuition than fact based determination. MS took a loss on each console sold during the price break. Perhaps to try to build some market share and stem the bleeding. We'll see how their numbers looks as the price is back to $400 or higher if you buy with kinect.
Last week's nightfall was not so easy, IMO. I did complete it with some clan members but it was challenging. So some weeks are easier than others. That's true in many games instanced content. IMO it's a great game.
I'd be very surprised to see the PS4 top the PS2 consoles sold figure for it's lifetime. A very different market today than in the PS2 era. The number of different platforms may well dilute the market. It is my understanding that the mobile gaming market (handheld or phone) is having a profound impact on where the public spends it money for games thus reducing the market size for consoles.
I don't think you know that for a fact. I'd be willing to bet unless the deal is restructured, under the current terms it will be published (not by MS) for PS4 and PC after a brief period of exclusivity.
MS may not out right pay 3rd parties but there is implied pressure that software that reinforces the observation of a weaker product hurts MS. Some 3rd party devs do not want to harm a potentially lucrative future relationship with MS but piling on. Gamers continue to flock to the PS4 in part because of observable superior performance. How can MS defend against that? Well by pressuring for parity where possible to negate a disadvantage they have in the product. Lack of parity does not hur...
AC Unity is a good reminder for me that the adage "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. For AC Unity I am glad I waited to see footage, reviews, and streamers before spending any money on this title. Ubisoft will continue to sell copies of AC Unity but I think they will realize fewer sales than what could have been for many of the reasons detailed in the article. I for one am not planning a purchase at this time.
@noctis_lumia Why does anyone have to 'shut it'? I think it'll be a great game too but feel no need to silence skeptics.
I agree that it's a little premature to know if this is a GOTY contender. But from what I have seen so far I think it is surely in the realm of possibility. Looking forward to seeing more of this game. I really think review scores are of little value. I prefer to to watch gameplay video, streamer play, and seek opinions of friends who have played. IMO many pre-release reviews are more marketing efforts than objective reviews. That being said I did pre-order at store last night but ju...
Left themselves open for that one.
In typical double speak it is probably accurate to say they did not 'lower' it. It was always the goal to achieve the lowest common denominator. So once they could 'achieve' 900p/30fps on Xbone they met that on PS4. It has probably never run at 1080p as that was never their goal to begin with due to Xbone limitations. I imagine many studios are getting pressure from MS to maintain the illusion of parity.
I may get this game. I played D3 on PC but do not have RoS. I'd buy it for PC but my rig is getting long in the tooth and I am not certain it would play so well on it. Some couch coop sounds fun though. I am glad they will release patch 2.1 for console but wonder why they won't include Seasons. May go grab this today. Between this and Destiny, I will have my gaming time filled going into fall.
I played the original release of D3 on PC. It is fun. However I won't pay $60 for the game to play the expansion while sitting on my couch. I will wait to play when the price drops or pick up a used copy in some months from now.
Helps to read the whole article.
The article did initially state 'made for PS4' but was later edited by the Kotaku author.See the comments at the end of the article. So the N4G headline has just not been edited to reflect the change.
The article clearly states timed exclusive for PS4. Future release on PC. NO MENTION of X1.
