Some people are just complainers. Can never just enjoy gaming but have to be a wet blanket every moment.
I think many (not all) of the players of FIFA and Madden play very few games outside their one or two sports titles. Their tolerance for MTX in games is leading companies like EA to assume that all gamers tolerate such BS. Let's hope the pushback EA and others get from this helps them see this type of monetization is a bad idea for many games. Frankly, I'd remove it from all games. MTX in full prices retail games is a low point of gaming.
It's a complete non-purchase for me and many. I don't trust EA at all. If EA reinstitutes paid loot boxes, who is to say that in 6 months they won't tweak progression back to one which promotes more loot box sales? EA's primary motivation for making the game was not to make and sell a great game first but rather maximizing profits through a GaaS paid loot box system. Gameplay was always secondary to that goal. The SP story campaign is lame and MP is a total mess. Who cares ...
EA has made a train wreck out of SW BF2. I won't support this business model by purchasing this game. It's too bad studios get bought up by them. I would have preferred DICE was independent.

No MTs in single player full priced (retail) games. I don't like them in MP either as they either mess up game balance or become a constant annoyance. They can be immersion breaking as they always try to take every opportunity to present you with the storefront.
It was my understanding Decima was and is worked on by Guerrilla Games and Kojima Productions. I was unaware of any collaboration with CDPR.

X1X is a console all dressed up and nowhere to go. MS is far too late to the party and has an anemic software lineup. Nearly all it's sales are to X1 owners to keep them from jumping ship. These articles are a joke. It's marketing speak to try to manufacture some buzz about a product which came out way too late. I just bought a 4K tv and I'm getting a PS4 Pro. All my friends are already on PSN and that's where the games are. As usual, MS is late to the party. X1X exists to keep the X1 player base from shrinking more. Most of their sales are to existing X1 owners.
MS spent money on timed exclusivity deals. What a waste of money. They would have been better served investing in their studios. They should let their studios take more risks and be more creative.

Nothing is more immersion breaking than the system they devised. Having to jump out of game into the loot box system is dreadful. EA is a lost cause. I'm skeptical of what Bioware will be forced to do with Anthem due to EA interference. Due to the financial "success", EA had with FIFA Ultimate Team, they will try to do that same type of BS with Anthem too. When all you have is a hammer...everything looks like a nail.
Make no mistake power is more easily fixed than games linueup. Sony could if they so chose to, release a new console with even higher performance. They won't right now but they could. Sony knows power is important but equally if not important is quality games with regular releases.
I have owned a PS4 and X1 for years now. I spend far less time on the X1. PS4 is where my friends play, and has great diverse lineup of games. Just bought a new 4K tv and will buy a PS4 Pro. The PS4 games lineup is too compelling to ignore.
MS sure does not appear to encourage creativity and take chances. They rely too much on timed exclusivity deals which costs them money. Money which they could otherwise invest in their own studios. It seems MS does not have the same creative spirit and freedom which Sony encourages. Sony has taken many more chances over the years and that pedigree manifests itself in games which can be a commercial success. Where is MS's Bend, Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Guerrilla Games, and more? How is it a software company like MS can lack so much in the creativity department?
Well I just bought a new 4K tv and I am purchasing a PS4 Pro . It has my existing library of games and many more coming out. Sony has done right by me as a gamer by producing a high quality diverse lineup of games. My PC also attaches to the tv so I can play MS exclusives if I so chose in 4K as well. No need for an X1X for me.
XBox fans should be thanking Sony. The only reason X1X exists is due to PS4. Competition is crucial to gaming evolution. Had PS4 not had a games focused strategy out the gates, MS's orig Xbox may not have made many changes in strategy. X1X is a result of MS needing to keep a player base which they hemorrhaged to PS's benefit for several years. That said, I think a healthy XBox games lineup will push Sony to continue to innovate.
