MS owes more to their loyal customers than t hey have so far provided. All the resources MS has and t hey sorely underdeliver on 1st party offerings.
Yep exactly. Some site feels compelled to be the contrarian to garner clicks. Just stay away from such obvious click-baiting.
I ordered a PS4 Pro GoW bundle for this title which I'll pickup on release day. Gonna be sweet. I'd have played it on my OG PS4 but my kid uses the PS4 alot too. Plus that themed console looks so nice.... I think it'll look and play nicely on my Sony 900e.
I love that Corey says at the end of the interview to those who were skeptical of the turn the game took compared to previous titles, "I am part of the origin of GoW, there's no way I am gonna do you wrong. You gotta play it".
@Concertoine I guess you just don't really understand. Either platform would be reluctant to offer cross-platform if either is in Sony's current position. Why doesn't Sony? Seems pretty obvious. Why does MS want to promote it? Seems pretty obvious. But is this a feature that will leave Sony or anyone "left behind" as the article title suggests? Of course not. Very few feel it is the feature they are lacking.
It is pretty cool they are updating X360 titles for 4K. I wish MS would put as much effort in new titles as well as showing love for older ones. I have RDR on my OG X1. I’d consider getting an x1x if I could sell or get a decent trade in on the OG model and catch the X1X on sale or a good bundle. But at $500 I just can’t justify it it yet, maybe someday it will sit alongside my OG PS4 and my PS4 Pro. But still kudos on showing some love for RDR from MS backwards compat team.
While I do believe the game is probably outstanding, I just can’t bring myself to read or care what Polygon thinks.
Yea I can’t say I always or even often agree with@Septic, but I am not going to downvote for expressing a pretty universally expressed opinion regarding God of War and Sony. And surely anyone who owns a PS4 will play this game. And if you don’t own a PS4 then it’s time to get one.
This is a completely contrived issue with little demand. MS is trying to break the juggernaut Sony has on console gaming, so they use surrogates to perpetuate the allusion this is something everyone is clamoring for in the market, You can bet if the tables were reversed MS would not be pursuing cross platform play with Sony. MS is now the champion of the gamer? Please. That’s delusional.
The only reason MS wants cross-play as it reduces the barrier that people stick with a platform as that is where their friends play. Sony is holding all the cards here and MS is in a disadvantageous position. You can bet that if MS had double the player base as Sony they would not be advocating for cross-play with Sony. MS suddenly went from pariah after their X1 reveal to the champion of the gamer? A leopard doesn't change its spots. MS cannot be trusted with the reigns. This game will...
Sony ran away with this generation right out of the gates and never looked back. It is a certainty that Sony pulled more former XBox owners to their camp than the other way for MS. And the impact of that on next gen will be profound. All those PS4 owners will stick with PS5 as they have alot of money invested in that gaming library. WIll MS be 'more' competitive next gen? We shall see. But at this point I am skeptical.
If we could ask someone who lived through WW1 or WW2 or a major depression like in the early 1930's (US) they would not say things are bad today compared to then. The world isn't perfect and never has been. Many people in the first world today don't really understand what suffering is. Heck some people today consider it a hardship if they lose internet connectivity.
I own an OG X1 and a PS4. Cant say I really ever play on the X1 very much. Just preordered a GoW PS4 Pro bundle as I needed a second PS4. I don’t dislike the X1 but there’s very little draw for me to play on it.
This is why a review publication like Consumer Reports does not take paid advertisements. Advertising casts a
shadow over a sights credibility sometimes. It's the same reason why sponsored streams for a product are not necessarily an accurate depiction of a streamers opinion of the product. I worked for a magazine many years ago and I know that often times management is pressured by advertisers to cast a favorable light on their products which they advertise in the publicatio...
I needed a second PS4 as one of my kids like to use the PS4 increasingly more often. I ended up getting the PS4 Pro bundle for God of War as it was a good deal considering I was going to buy that game anyway. Had I not needed a second PS4 I would have been happy with my OG PS4 though. God of War should look pretty nice on my Sony 900e 4K set.
I'm calling BS. IGN better cash that check from MS quick.
It's really quite sad now. MS looks so pathetic sometimes. MS clearly should have delayed another year to have Rare add more content. Next up...State of Decay 2. I hope that game is not a disappointment.
@Mr_Writer85 It is not brand loyalty alone. I own both consoles and I can tell you I spend far more time and money on the Sony console. I didn't buy the X1 to not use it but there is just less reason to play with it compared to PS4. Also, I'd also say MS lost a number of the 'loyal' customers as many X360 owners bought a PS4 and moved their primary gaming experience there. So if it's loyalty alone then why are there so many more PS4s in the market than X1?
