@indysurfn I agree that there is an effort in the industry including some willing gaming 'press' outlets to make this seem as if MTs are a 'fait a compi'. They try to convince us that they are necessary for the economic viability of the industry. I have read analyses that show this is not the case. This is surely a subtle manipulation to get the public to just accept this business model. I agree that consumers ultimately have the power. Opinions regarding anti-lootbox MTs a...
I have concerns the game will be riddled with MTs. Not so much because of Bioware but included at the insistence of EA. Such monetization practices are baked in from the original requirements from the publisher. I hope this is not the case that the game is ruined by MT mechanisms but like many, I am highly distrustful of EA and by extension any of their studios right now. Trust is earned and EA is sorely lacking in that department right now.
@EDMINX I think that EA has mad...
One has to ask themselves if this could be patched so quickly, why was this not observed and fixed before release? As is too often the case with studios, the deadline is more important than quality upon release.Sure better late than never but c'mon it never should have been released in that state.
Agreed. Nice kid.
Not sure what happened on my end but it seems some comment threads have been removed.

The picture above of the young boy above reminds of Ralphie from A Christmas Story?
@Enjoy Look MS paid for time exclusivity and they should not have bothered doing that. It's not a system seller game. And it is true it is releasing with very poor optimization. This was clearly rushed out for console to get the holiday sales. Any other game gets released like this and it gets torn to shreds. People like you who have no other options but to purchase poorly optimized games sold as new release. Can only shake my head.
Click bait article.
I'll enjoy most of those games too, on my Pro. Plus many others.... Good times for PS4 owners.
Sales were good for PUBG mostly due to the fact that there are little other exciting new choices for X1. The game is a hot mess. Has potential sure but I think unless optimized soon it will face strong competition from other battle royale games.
Well as stated above more revenue does not necessarily translate to profit. If X1X is sold at a loss or break even then MS profits are potentially less than Sony's this month. I can't say if MS is disappointed. The sales numbers may be good. But are they growing market share? Not really. And these are NPD numbers for NA. I imagine worldwide, Sony really continues to put distance between themselves and MS.
Does MS sell the X1X at break even or a loss?. X1X is being sold to existing X1 owners who felt like X1 was a gimped console. They are not likely gaining many PC or PS4 owners. MS had to stop the bleeding of its userbase is why X1X exists. Where will X1X be once the initial sales bump wears off? WIll they outsell either PS4 or Switch in the coming year? MS must announce and deliver on compelling games. That has to be their focus if they intend to compete. Userbase size is mot important to th...
Sony did say they had their best black Friday ever. I guess they had a great month overall. I hear gamers of all ages, particularly younger ones, say they want PS4. Not only for the great games but also because that is where their friends are playing. And many I know are seeking to have a PS4 and a Switch. I still love my PS4 but with my new 4K tv I'll be getting a Pro very soon.
I think after playing D1 / D2 and witnessing the EA/DICE SWBF2 debacle, I have to wholeheartedly agree with you. I never prebought the D1 expansions but fell for the D2 hype I bought D2 and the expansion pass before release and regret it. I incorrectly believed that Bungie would deliver on their intentions. I won't be taken in again by them. It's sad though, Destiny gameplay feels so good. Oh well.
I'll be buying a PS4 Pro. For a "Gaming" Console, it has the most critical factor. Games. Pro still looks amazing. Everyone I know plays on PS4 so Xbox holds very little for me other than some additional pixels.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Well exclusivity deals are not inherently bad but given MS's current state of 1st party, I would have preferred they spend their capital on studios they own. I don't think the PUBG timed exclusivity for consoles helps MS very much at all.
Pretty unimpressive lineup....
Although I agree with your sentiment, to be precise, it is not a constitutional right to discuss in forums against your employer's wishes. Freedom of Speech in the U.S. is about individual rights and government censorship. A company is well within the U.S. Constitution to bar employees from certain conduct. But I do agree it is really bad handling by EA to be so restrictive. I would also like to see a proper Star Wars game made in the hands of a different publisher.
