Yes I agree it is very true griefing is a thing. I'd be lying to say it's not. Could the game at times degenerate into a grief-fest? Perhaps. It may truly matter the systems that BGS has in place along with map size, etc. I am willing to wait and see how their game design works out in reality. I guess the question is, is there a middle ground between all-out unbridled pvp and an SP experience? It seems BGS wants to try to replace NPC AI with true human 'intelligence'. I use th...
That's a fair statement to make that perhaps FO76 is just not for you. While I also like the SP experiences, I do think I will give FO76 a good look and perhaps play it. I like it that Bethesda is trying new things. Will it be a good gaming experience? I don't know. I won't pre-order but I will see what it's like upon release and make a decision then. I myself am not worried about griefers. Being that FO76 is not a traditionally numbers FO release as if it were FO5, I expect...
As much as I like physical purchase, I have a combination of both currently. Reselling digital keys will be possible with potential businesses like Robot Cache. I'd be willing to bet that many of these overtures that "I will never buy this" or "I will quit video games" are just emotional responses at this time. Unlikely most gamers will quit gaming because of digital distribution supplanting physical. I may not like the idea of only digital but me quitting my hobby is...
I agree. Make what you like but don't be surprised that people don't purchase your product. I enjoy video games mostly for escapism. The last thing I am entertained by is some game director pushing their own moral code regardless of whether I agree with it or not. Sure they're free to make social commentary but don't be surprised when customers stay away.
100 % streaming the future? Maybe in 30 years. But anytime soon replacing locally stored content? Highly unlikely. There will be some hybridization of cloud and local cache at some point. Maybe certain types of games will be streamable to large audiences but 4k / 60 low latency is something the current technology is broadly incapable of supporting.
Kinda pathetic the lengths MS fanboys writers will go to garner clicks. This is much ado about nothing. Minecraft crossplay. Ok. Whatever.
It is $2.50 here in the U.S. Maybe they assumed it was roughly equivalent in UK?
You nailed it @morganfell. Just the musings of a jealous fanboy.
@VenomUK I agree this is not journalism of any sort. It's clickbait tactics to draw readers. I won't bother reading their opinion on a game which is not even released or played by that writer yet. I think the game could be fun and I am interested to see more once it is released. This type of writing really leaves zero credibility for the site or writer.
Sony is in no way arrogant. Producing games for gamers is not arrogant. They have been far more consistent since PS4 launched than MS could ever dream of. Sony doesn't react to Xbox fanboys whining about cross-play as they are not even Sony customers. This is a complete non-issue from my perspective. Plenty of players on PSN now. Clearly, MS doesn't feel the same for their platform. This is clearly some orchestrated effort by MS marketing to sully their competitor but in reality, it h...
@343 You speak so definitively. How would you know this?
The game is like water in the desert. When you're dying of thirst you'll even drink dirty water.
Sony is not cocky at all. They keep investing in their studios and produce amazing gaming experiences. Cocky would be MS in that they spent next to nothing on improving their first party all these years and still expected their 360 customer base to pony up money not for one console but two. They produced the inadequate OG X1 and now promote the X1X as some savior device. XBoxers could easily have spent $1000 on two consoles just to play the same games. And I suspect most X1X owners probably...
Sony has treated gamer's pretty well if you ask me. Don't think we're fooled by XBox fanboys trying to use some contrived problem which impacts nearly nobody as a wedge to prop up their platform of choice. We all know if MS had Sony's numbers they'd be acting similarly. It's so laughable that people think MS is some altruistic gamer champion. MS has no choice but to seek cross-platform as they need a reason for people to stick with Xbox. Most of us are not fooled by MS...
Gaming is moving this way due to the mass market filthy casuals far outnumber the traditional gaming audience. And these casuals just don't have the same concerns. The influx of these customers must in large part be due to mobile gaming. Casuals play a game for a day or maybe weeks then move on to the next shiny new penny. Plus the internet essentially enables companies to deliver content streams for minimal cost so there is little motivation to actually finish or provide quality in a pro...
I kinda feel bad for XBox owners. They get so little and are happy with promises.
I guess that is what GaaS is starting to mean for some publishers.
GaaS - Incomplete, buggy game. Please give us your money first and we'll consider finishing it.
Such a sad state of affairs this industry is devolving into.
Frankly, I couldn't care less which platform has beta access. I probably won't play the beta at all as I am not pre-ordering. I will wait to see what the game is like after beta and make a decision later on whether I purchase or not.
I am not sure how much of a studios staff are members of the screen actors guild. The actors for mocap and voice over are members. But are animators and programmers? I don't know. But I do agree that spending millions for a recognizable face in a game feels unnecessary.
The people complaining are generally not Sony customers. This is mostly just MS fans trying to draw negative attention on Sony. Why would Sony want to provide additional players to their competitor's platform? If everyone is so outraged about cross-platform then I suspect millions will be trading in their PS4's for XB1. And if you believe that is true I also have a nice bridge for sale.... This is a manufactured controversy with very little substance behind it. You can bet MS woul...
