IMO, CDPR has easily earned my trust in their own creative process. They have not given me any reason to doubt their acumen for creating amazing games. And I think @VonAlbrecht is right in that many people just want The Witcher in a cyberpunk world. I don't doubt that could be amazing too but CDPR seems to think based on the gameplay they are creating, a first-person perspective is best. I am willing to give CDPR the benefit of the doubt.
The only downside to the console version I can see if the lack of Game Master mode. But the campaign constructed by Larian is great.
I played it on pc last year. But kicking back on the couch to play sounds like fun. May eventually get this for console.
It is not necessary to play D:OS 1 first. As good as D:OS 1 was, D:OS 2 is even better.
The stats on people actually finishing games shows it is just a small percentage of people who actually complete a game. If it's 20 hours for main story I am sure with side missions etc it will be longer. What's the point of having a game world so huge like AC Origins if you don't finish the game? I'll take quality over quantity every day. I imagine at some point there will be a NG+ mode too.
Yup. I own both a Pro and an X1X. I'll probably go with the Pro for the extra content but not sure yet. Are they both locked at 30 fps?
Some people would rather pretend they are saving money through a subscription service as the monthly payment is lower. In the long run you pay more versus purchasing a copy fo a game. People love to get sucked in by the "what's the monthly payment' trick versus knowing what you are actually paying.
Well the problem with subscription service is that you own nothing. The price can be raised for exactly the name game(s). Compared to owning a copy of the game I think you will pay alot more for games and services over time with a subscription model. As for music, I prefer to purchase a copy of a song o than pay continuously for a service to play that song.
Well they did make a point to insult a sizeable portion of their customer base. As for me, I am not buying it right away. Other games in October I will spend my money on first. Maybe BF V in the future if it's on sale and people are still playing it.
Considering Japan has gravitated more to mobile platforms than in the west, I'd say it's pretty good. But I have to imagine Switch my outsell in the long run. But 7 million units sold is pretty good. Monster Hunter World helped push units for sure.
I heard you will be able to customize your electrical power cord now. /s
I'm interested but still skeptical at this point. It will take several years to see if MS studios foster creative developers or rush their content to produce lackluster games. Look how long it took Sony Santa Monica to produce God of War. Some of these studios need that kind of time and freedom to produce quality games. Only time will tell.
I'm still getting my Bestbuy Gamers Club discount of 20% on new game purchases. Of course, BB also canceled that program. But I'll have used it for 4 years by the time my sub runs out next year. I will likely continue to avoid pre-orders and wait for sales.
It is my understanding Bethesda is not trying to close up the 2nd hand market. Rather they just don't want someone selling something under the guise of 'new' when it was previously purchased. An example they state was someone could open the cellophane take out a code or something and reseal and represent as 'new'. Is that likely, probably not. But if the seller sold as 'used' and described as never opened then I think it was ok. Regardless, I think I am skipping F...
Well just because Sony were to release a new console either in 2019 or 2020 doesn't mean the PS4 ceases to be useful. PS4 will continue to have support from Sony even after PS5 is released. Not everyone can or will be a day 1 adopter of a PS5. It wouldn't bother me if Sony releases late 2019 or Q1 or 2020. But I would be rather surprised to see PS5 released in 2019. My guess is late 2020.
Bethesda is biting the hand that feeds them. I'm surprised Bethesda is being so vocal. This tactic may well backfire on them. Are they just being the handmaiden of MS? I may just forgo FO76 completely now. Who cares about some CCG they are trying to push. Nobody really plays that game. CCG will continue to be dominated by Hearthstone and MTG,
This is true. Ultimately the games lineup wins out as long as the user perceived performance gap is not excessive. I own both consoles (Pro and X) and as much as I like them both I tend to make purchases for the Pro far more often. RDR2 will be on my Pro as the quality still looks great and that's where most of my friends will play too.
English letters are not necessarily known by everyone. The console is produced in Japan where their written language is completely different. Symbols, such as those they chose, are language independent.
Newsflash: This just in. Next gen consoles will be more powerful than current gen.
As they say, some people sure have an exceptional grasp of the obvious.
Why is that too soon? Having PS5 doesn't mean the Pro ceases to be supported by devs. It is likely that many games currently in development expected to be released in the next year or two will be supported on current and next gen. The Pro is a mid-cycle hardware refresh. New games will still work on the console.
