Relatively to other FO games, it's DOA. Nobody will be playing this in 12 months.
So sad. What's happening to gaming? It's being destroyed by the casual mobile crowd in other regions of the world. It was nice knowing you Blizzard.
I think GoW was a riskier venture in that they really changed the gameplay formula and story from previous iterations. Although RDR2 really improves upon the mechanics and realism of open-world gameplay. RDR2 is more iterative but still amazing in how far it's improved. Not sure it's worth picking just one game. I haven't played Spidey just yet. So I guess it's a bit of a toss-up for me. But my guess.... the 'press' will vote for RDR2 as it's multiplat and that p...
I like to think it is being developed but who knows. Blizzard has alluded to that since the Immortal announcement but leading up to it said nothing concrete. I still maintain the Immortal release would have been taken less dramatically by the audience had it been announced alongside a full PC release of something like Diablo 4. Immortal sure appears to be some casual game full of MT's catering to a non-traditional Diablo fanbase. Announcing this at Blizzcon as the marque announcement was...
I'd consider myself disappointed not angry. But surely angry if this is the only Diablo release on the horizon. Little to zero chance I play some mobile Diablo game.
Yes I agree Activision understands there is a large casual gaming audience who would play any mobile game. But announcing this at Blizzcon in the way they did as if this was the marque announcement was just tone deaf. This needed to be announced in alongside some announcement of Diablo 4 or Diablo remaster. And now with all the youtube dislike and comment fiasco, Blizzard looks just ridiculous.
Really bad venue and audience to announce a mobile game of a fan favorite franchise. It'd be one thing to announce this in addition to a Diablo remaster or Diablo 4 announcement. "Hey we also have a mobile game in addition to this...". Or perhaps just a stream announcement or some mobile-friendly venue. But at Blizzcon? Talk about misreading your audience in attendance. "Don't you all have mobile phones?". [Open mouth insert foot]
I heard it was an out of season April fools joke. /s
Sony has one huge advantage all other things being equal. The existing install base with consumers is very large. Many people stick with what they know and are familiar. e.g. their friends are on PSN, existing library of games which will likely be backward compatible, etc. MS would need to provide a compelling reason to jump ship. That will be difficult to do.
It is a poor graphic in that advertisement. I am not that cynical to think this was by design. Rather, I more likely believe someone in marketing was just a bit incompetent. But who knows. Either way, fix it for clarity. Problem solved.
Agreed that parent's should be very careful where and with whom they let their kids play. For myself, I don't care for auto voice enablement in MP games. I prefer friends only, or at least voice comms request first before I enable on just any random person. If FO76 has the typical voice controls in place, like exist in ESO, then I'd consider playing but if not, then it is a no play for me. I just don't have the patience for having to listen to randoms at night in my games if...
MS and their friends in the press sell hopes and dreams to the masses. Otherwise known as smoke and mirrors. They are years away from a comparable 1st party lineup to Sony if they ever get there at all. Now if MS had a stellar lineup of games out now and more coming in 2019 then maybe I'd agree it's a good time to get an X1x. But the truth is they do not have that. You'll buy the console and quickly be underwhelmed.
All console makers love to differentiate their product by making or funding unique content. Last I checked, many of MS 1st party are Xbox only titles such as HALO. And those first party which are also on PC are conveniently running on Windows 10 for Play Anywhere. Bethesda is not harmed by multiple console makers platforms. They sell to consumers on all 3. Pete Hines is just a marketing guy but boy can he step in it. He does more harm than good in many gamer's eyes.
Yep, Pete Hines.....smh
Early on I really like the pace and mechanics of the game. To each their own. It's not a game well suited to short attention span children. They can always go play Fortnite.
I had zero issues loading the game nor applying the patch. I hope everyone is enjoying the game regalrdless of whether they bought physical or digital.
@Leeroyw I don't think the author was taken advantage of by CDPR. Even CDPR probably didn't know the extent to which The Witcher game series would be successful. The author did not want a percentage of the profits but rather a payment upfront. Sounds like he expected the game to not be successful monetarily and asked for a lump sum payment up front. CDPR invested a lot of money and years of development and it paid off for them. Now the author wants to turn back the clock. A court sho...
I have already bought the game so I am avoiding reviews and streams at this point. Just going to play for days without the influence of outside sources.
Perhaps Metacritic should do similar to what Olympic judges do in some sports. The top score and lowest score is thrown out. Not sure how many sites are aggregated for Metacritic but maybe the top 5 and bottom 5? Maybe their algorithm for calculating already does this.
I did play PoE1 and will likely still buy and play PoE2 and Pathfinder Kingmaker this winter. But agreed they are a time commitment but that's okay by me.
