i still remember back when i was about 9 years old, my mom bought me a copy of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse on a trip to Gurnee Mills in Wisconsin.

On the 2 hour drive back to Milwaukee, I read that instruction booklet (in fading sunlight) over and over again, gawking at the pictures. by the time i got home i was so pumped up to play the game i'm surprised i didn't faint when i was finally able to power up my NES and play it.

games like Ico, S...

would shut his trap and make a new Black and White game.

i loved Black and White 2. i even loved the original Fable.

didn't care much for Fable 2 (i'm still playing it at the moment), and i'm holding off on Fable 3 until i finish 2 and get some extra cash.

if Molyneux put half the effort into fleshing out his concepts as he does boasting about what he's TRYING to do, and those "little darlings" he can't bare to p...

but even I'M excited!

i've always loved the dedication Polyphony Digital put into the GT series, even though i'm not huge into racers. i DID buy GT 3 back in the day, and i have the PSP Gran Turismo. i downloaded GT HD and the Demo for Prologue, but i don't have any racing wheels or anything.

GT5 is looking like such a stunning showpiece and all around HUGE package for your $60, i'm tempted to get it just for value alone. lol.

but at any point, the developers can have the Cell or RSX utilize that full 512MB, or they could, oh, i don't know, actually bother to LEARN the architecture and how to code for the SPUs.

the SPU usage when we were running those memory tests was VERY low. maybe 1 SPU was active at once. for a console that has 6 active SPUs, that's pathetic.

we are now 5 years into this generation, 4 years into the PS3's life cycle. there simply isn't any excus...

after the merger with Vivendi, me, and most of the folks there were laid off.

then i worked on Blur back in September of last year. that was the last project i worked on for Activision.

i'm currently employed at Konami, though we're in between projects.

also, why the FUCK would i mention working at ACTIVISION of all companies and not some awesome company like Sony or Naughty Dog?

i was a QA Tester, then Floor Lead at ...

i can say they don't give a SHIT about the PS3.

i respect the NDA's i've signed, so i won't go into a LOT of detail, but while me and the team were doing memory tests on a particular multi-platform project for Activision, i noted that the 360 version was using all 512MB of the console's memory. the PS3 version of that same game was only using 256MB, and, understandably, it was running like shit. but the developer's had the audacity to bitch and complai...

if i didn't, i'd go with a PS3.

i'd LIKE more games on my 360 (i only own 4: Mass Effect 1 and 2, Fable 2, and Alan Wake. after dropping $60 on Fable 2, i'll be waiting until Fable 3 drops in price; i'm not paying full price for Peter Molyneux's game design experiments any longer. i at least want SOME design consistency in my sequels. new IPs are for experimenting, franchises are for REFINING the concepts that make that franchise tick.), because my wif...

facial animation i've seen this generation since Heavenly Sword and Uncharted 2.

i was worried when LA Noire kept having delay after delay after delay, but now i see it was, at the least, time well spent on perfecting this tech.

consider this game back on my list.

Bethesda and Obsidian has been making these style of games for YEARS. you'd think the production of these open ended RPGS would run as smooth as a greased wheel.

last night, my wife was playing, and it froze during auto-saving, destroying her save. then it froze while trying to load in a previous save. then it reset the PS3 while she was...wait for it...WALKING across the wasteland.

i'm sick of developers getting a free pass for releasing buggy titles...

i guess...*shrugs* so Ghost of Sparta ISN'T awesome? news to me.

the PSP ISN'T a great handheld that gets shit on for no reason? riiiight.

i DON'T want to see an HD collection of the PSP God of Wars? last time i checked, i most certainly did. what's there to disagree about?

i beat it over the weekend. great game. great ending.

it took me about 10.5 hours to complete, but i haven't unlocked everything.

the extras are going to require a LOT of time to unlock them all (you purchase some of them with the orbs you collect in game, so replay is high; some of that stuff is EXPENSIVE!).

the story, combat, and epic scale is just amazing in this game.

i'd LOVE to see a God of War Collection HD re...

what matters is the CONTENT available on the platforms.

for me, personally, the PS3 has the lion's share of the games i want to play in the coming 6-12 months.

i don't even KNOW what's coming for the 360 next year outside of Gears of War 3 (i'm not a Gears of War fan, so i have no interest in Gears 3. i'm not a Halo fan anymore, although Reach was rather enjoyable, so i'm not interested in a new Halo).

i'd like som...

pee wee indeed!

but yeah, something exactly like that. i actually really like that idea of $5 for level 5, $10 for level 10 and so on, and you can cash that in at anytime, but the money value resets to zero when you redeem it (but you still retain your Trophy count and level).

i just think it'd be a cool idea. it would encourage people to Platinum their games (thus delaying the potential of them trading in their games).

however, i could s...

for PSN rewards or something. otherwise, they are ultimately useless to me. i have no need to measure my e-peen with those on my friend's list.

now, if Trophies could be converted to points that i could use to, say, buy some stuff off of the PSN, i'd be all over Trophies.

they could have it where Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Trophies were worth a certain amount of dollars/cents (like $0.05 for every Bronze, $0.10 for every Silver, $0.15 for ever...

I don't care how good Enslaved may actually be (I only played the demo, and I enjoyed it, but I couldn't afford to buy it), but I NEVER, want to see it in the same sentence with Ico ever again.

Ico DID sell poorly (i'm proud to say that i was one of those initial sales back in the day; i still have my copy, but i'm buying the Ico/SOTC collection anyway), but it was a phenomenal game.

Enslaved is a solid title. that is ALL. it does not deserve ...

my wife LOVES true crime. we're always watching Cold Case Files or Forensic Files, etc.

this hot chick i used to work with at Konami would also come in and watch the true crime shows with me at lunch break. she said she just can't get enough of those shows because they terrify her, and it's like a cautionary tale or something.

my wife loved watching me play Heavy Rain, though she didn't play it herself, because she hates button press games. if...

it'd have been nice to get more of Madison's story in there.

i LOVE Heavy Rain, and it's one of my GOTY contenders, but out of the entire cast, Madison was the character that i thought felt the least fleshed out, and her part in the story didn't really seem to fit as well as the three other characters. of course, it didn't help that i killed her off early on in my very first playthrough of the game. that was a bummer but decided to continue on with the sto...

as a fan of Indigo Prophecy, i thought Heavy Rain was a huge improvement, and closer to what David Cage is trying to produce with his games. just because it doesn't fit into what most of the industry considers to be a "mold" of game design, doesn't make it any less of a game.

there were still objectives and goals, and the player had to manipulate the characters to achieve said goals. sounds like a game to me.

as for God of War 3, it totally ...

my personal picks:

Heavy Rain
God of War 3
Red Dead Redemption
Mass Effect 2

out of that list of 4, i'm torn between God of War 3 and Red Dead Redemption.

the former has such incredible technical expertise, and really evolves the God of War franchise, but the latter is a new IP that evolves the sandbox genre by creating a world that feels more alive than any sandbox game i've ever played, as well as 100% nailin...
