actually, Violater, she *did* do an article the day before entitled "Why I Think You Should Steer Clear Of The PS3 In Europe."
so, yeah. she's done both viewpoints, so there shouldn't be a problem here.
then again, most people on the net have an instant, dismissive kneejerk reaction to anything that could be construed as positive for Sony and the Playstation 3.
I own a PS3, and I love it, but this is really retarded, and it makes PS3 fans look like petty idiots.
So, it's all well and good for us to boast about Ninja Gaiden Sigma hitting the PS3 (which I eagerly anticipate, even though I used to own Black on my X Box), but the moment a high profile PS3 game goes to 360, it's all, let's b*tch and moan about it?
Shameful.
I really, really hope that the people that wrote this petition, and the people that are...
if Ninja Gaiden Sigma does well on the PS3, Ninja Gaiden 2 could very well come to the PS3.
as Capcom and numerous other developers have shown, if you aren't owned by Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo, your game can end up on all platforms.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma looks amazing, and i can't wait to fire it up on my PS3. i used to own Ninja Gaiden Black on my X Box, but i traded it in a long time ago before finishing it (it was a dark time and i had to trade some stuff in f...
well, me and my friends are working on pitching a show to G4 in the next month that *gasp* actually has to do with video games. we have a producer at G4 who's open to hearing what we have, so we'll se where that goes. since it's Hollywood, i won't hold my breath.
hopefully they'll pick it up, and the show won't get demolished during development.
Immature fanboys of all sides do nothing more than make their preference look worse in the end. Sony fanboys are just as bad as MS and Nintendo fanboys, particularly the ones that just can't admit that all three consoles will have some must play titles.
The only thing I don't really see is when people claim that Sony isn't focussing on games, and whenever a new great PS3 title is announced or revealed, they say, "Now this is more like it! Sony is finally putting games firs...
Virtua Fighter 5
Resistance: Fall of Man
Motorstorm
I used to own Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, but I got rid of that piece of crap for God of War 2.
Oblivion will be joining them come next weekend (as i probably won't have the dough to get them come Tuesday.
it's a no brainer that attach rates will go up once more games people want to play come out (Resistance couldn't do it all).
I imagine once a few killer titles like L...
again, with the "Sony steals everything," bull.
they do *OWN* the company that owns the Spider-Man movie rights, and thus the Spider-Man movie font (Columbia/Tri Star).
honestly, the font shouldn't be an issue.
when i'm playing my PS3, i'm not like "Man, that Spider-Man 3 font really detracts from this awesome game of Resistance! I should turn my PS3 on it's side, so I don't have to look at that cursed font while I enjoy my games.&qu...
there's some actual video of the game here, and there is some interesting things mentioned about the game (such as the fancy shots of the city, ala Coruscant, are truly in real time on the PS3, and that they were shown half of that level, and you can see all of that traffic and buildings).
the truth of the matter is that the PS3 is looking better and better each day new information comes out about what Sony and their first, second, and third parties are planning.

07.03.07 has much signifigance for me: it's my birthday.
Home, to me, is a bonus addition to an already great machine.
The software is coming, and it's looking rather good, to be honest.

This thread got really long, and I wasn't sure if Sabbath got to see my first response to his post, so forgive this second post. and skip it if you actually did read it the first time.
11.2 - not quite the same thing
The only real flaw in your logic is assuming that UMD and Blu Ray are the same thing. But there are a few key differences.

The only real flaw in your logic is assuming that UMD and Blu Ray are the same thing. But there are a few key differences.
1.) UMD's were only usable in PSPs. There were no stand alone UMD players, or UMD drives for computers. As we all know, Dell and Apple are exclusively supporting Blu Ray for their disc drives. Also, there are stand alone Blu Ray players out there also. Which brings me to point two:
2.) UMD's didn't fill a need. Consumers buy what they need. T...
apparently, the UK only has roughly 2400 PS2 games anyway.
1200 out of 2400 isn't too shabby, really.
i'm sure most people's favorites will be well represented, such as every title that's available on The Greatest Hits line. they were probably checked and optimized for compatibility first.
RE4, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War (1 & 2), Metal Gear Solid, etc.
and more are supposed to be compatible at launch? things aren't as gri...
i also thing that Okami has better art direction than Gears.
while i think it's fun, i think the character models in Gears looks like they stepped out of a Rob Liefield drawing circa 1992.
Okami was beautiful, and Heavenly Sword looks like it has some great art design from the concept drawings we've seen, as well as the few video clips that haven't been centered around the arena sequence.
still, it doesn't matter if the game matches or exceeds Gear...
i played that arena level at E3 2006, and it was ridiculously fun.
the controls were amazingly responsive, and her animations between moves were very fluid and graceful.
as for controls, it's very similar to God of War, with Triangle being heavy attack, Square being regular/medium attack, X being jump, and Circle being grab. the four shoulder buttons controlled blocking, stance/weapon changes, and super move (like the button pressing mini-game), i can't remember ...
What I find really, really funny about this thread is that all the comments have centered around the PS3 being difficult to develop for, when the real news is that Mistwalker, previously allied 100% with Microsoft, is playing around with the PS3, period!
They may not be developing any games now, but who knows what next year may hold.
I guess it's more than possible that if sales are good, we could see Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey on the PS3 in the future.

I played this game at E3 2006, and it was a lot of fun.
It controls very similarly to God of War (L button to Block, R button to switch weapons/stances, Triangle for heavy attack, square for mid attack, X to jump, and Circle to grab), so those that play GOW will find themselves at home here.
The moves and combos she can do look waaaay better than Kratos' (which is to be expected, as it's a next gen game), and she moves with incredible fluidity. There was no jerki...
I'll use my last comment to address the need for Blu Ray in gaming.
First, I totally disagree with Jay's comment that games decrease over time.
Are you telling me that Super Mario World is smaller than Super Mario Bros?
Is the Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, smaller in size than the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time?
Are you saying that Grand Theft Auto San Andreas would have been possible on the Playstation 1?
Two things m...
And Crackdown isn't nearly as visually impressive as, say, Gears of War, or even Resistance. Or, if the demonstration is to be belived, The Getaway PS3.
I love Crackdown with a passion(ever since I played it at E3 2006), but that's exactly my point. Crackdown is a very limited game in terms of visual fidelity, as well as gameplay.
What are the missions like in Crackdown? Drive around shooting the sh*t out of people until you get intel, then hunting down your targ...
this list is for games coming out in the *Spring*.
it won't be until Q3/Q4 2007 that the PS3 will really start getting it's big games (kind of like how the 360 didn't get Gears of War until a year after it's release):
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - June/July
Hot Shots Golf 5
Heavenly Sword - Sept
Ratchet and Clank Future - Q3
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - Q3/Q4
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Q4
Playstation Home - October (not a game, but stil...
