not that i'm defending Sony fanboys (or any fanboys for that matter), but the key difference between when a 360 gets an FPS and when the PS3 gets an FPS, is that the PS3 isn't *KNOWN for being an FPS house and machine.
what i mean to say is that the PS3, and Sony platforms in general, are known for their wide variety of games (ie, MGS4, FFXIII, Ratchet and Clank Future, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Motorstorm, VF5, Resistance), whereas the 360 really does have an obscene ammount o...
that was a *YEAR AGO.
things change, man.
the game is still coming out for the PC and 360, it's simply now a timed exclusive for the PS3 (or at least *APPEARS to be a timed exclusive).
thanks. i didn't mean to go off on a rant, but i'm just fed up with the incessant b*tching and moaning that goes on across the net:
"XXX has no good games!"
"XXX has no good games!"
"That game doesn't look as good as Gears of War!"
"So and So is copying XXX idea from So and So!"
"XXXX console is better than XXXX console because XXXXX"
it's driving me mad i say!
i guess after ...
you people are so g*d d*mned hard to please. i mean, *REALLY.
this game looks very impressive, and it's coming from a company that has a proven track record for making quality first person shooters (GoldenEye, the Timesplitters series).
i mean, d*mn, this generation seems to be full of nothing but whiny little bastards who can't appreciate a good game unless the developer is blowing smoke up your @sses about "innovation," and, "revolutionary game d...
ever since i first saw this game, and learned that the Prince of Persia team was behind it, i was hyped, no media hype necessary.
this game is certainly going in my collection.
what's even more exciting, is that the game launches in August, and Ubisoft said that there would be a demo released before the game launches, though they didn't say what format the demo would take.
i think it's a no brainer that we'll see a PC, PSN, and X Box Live demo in t...
the Jungle has become the new Hoth/WWII
most new FPSs now are set in the jungle. it's crazy.
anyway, i've been following Haze for a long time now, and i think it *LOOKS phenomenal for sure, and i actually have high hopes for the gameplay, as Free Radical makes some really good games. the Timesplitters series was really good.
i also loved Secon Sight, but i think that was developed by Codemasters.
exclusive or not, Haze has always been on...
and in the first eight months of release the PS3 has
Oblivion
Fight Night Round 3
Resistance
Motorstorm
Virtua Fighter 5
F.E.A.R.
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Call of Duty 3
so what's your point?
the 360 had some decent games for it's first 8 months on the market, so does the PS3.
it wasn't until a year after launch that the 360 got Gears of War, and months after that before Lost Planet...
this "XXX is copying XXX" really, *REALLY needs to quit. it's stupid.
the important thing, is that this game was playable at Sony's Gamer's Day last week, and everybody was surprised at how fun and natural it felt, saying that it was just as fluid and responsive as Wii Sports, if not better.
people complain that the SIXAXIS hasn't been implemented well, then they complain when they use it in a way that's similar to another game.
I swear, Sony...
he still can't turn off his PR machine brain when answering questions, but overall, his answers to questions were truthful, and it lacked most of the hyperbole associated with PR.
the fact of the matter is that the PS3 is powerful, but like any console, that power is never tapped right out of the gate (or did Kameo max out the 360 back in 2005? thought not).
a truth that many in the media and across the net refust to admit (though we know it's the truth), is tha...
what impressed me the most was the revelation that this game is still *PRE-ALPHA. it's not even in beta form yet, but it's still as responsive and playable, with only a few hiccups in terms game mechanics (such as shooting a dude, like, 5 times in the head before her drops, and the lack of a few animations, like when he climbs up on a ledge).
this game is probably the one that i'm anticipating above all others this year (yes, even MGS4, and i *LOVE the MGS series).
i'm not saying the PS3's lineup will *MURDER the Wii, but for a console that is supposed to be all flash and no substance, I see quite a few games that could be considered, daresay, innovative, while the Wii is giving us Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
the uncreative PS3 has Home releasing this year, Little Big Planet, Folklore (it's a rather intriguing concept of sucking the souls out of enemies by pulling and tugging the Sixaxis), Eye of Judg...
see my comment above.
you can be a gamer, and still like movies, music, books, etc.
i've been playing video games since 1985, i've seen gaming evolve to encompass not just one of my passions (the gaming side), but practically *ALL of the things that i enjoy.
sure, there are a bunch of folks that are resistant to the fact that most modern gaming consoles (and handhelds) support more than just gaming, but not me.
i love being able to s...
between the PS3 and PSP, there are so many games coming out this fall that i won't be able to get even *HALF of what's on my list for this year.
i can't even begin to think about purchasing another system (like a 360 or Wii).
i think the PS2 is getting some good stuff too (like Odin Sphere this week).
even with my job, it's going to be a harsh fall, that's for sure.
hmmm, maybe i can get away with giving my friends and family socks ...
considering that i own a PS3, and my PS3 plays Blu Ray movies, i'm always interested in what new movies are coming out on Blu Ray.
if this site posts stories about Blu Ray, it keeps me informed to what's available on the format, and i also get caught up on gaming news i may have missed.
not all of us just play video games. some of us enjoy movies, music, tv, books, etc. i welcome the idea of a site that covers all of that (like ign).
i don't see a ...
from that video, i think they *both look great, but seeing my roommate play the Forza 2 demo on his 360 the other day, and looking at GTHD on my PS3, i think GTHD looks better, but they both look great, if that makes any sense (probably not in this fanboy world, where everything is black and white, with no shades inbetween. you're either on one side or the other, apparently).
i've been following this game since i saw the video for it from TGS last year.
i didn't realize the game was made by the Genji guys. Genji could have been a killer frickin' game, but the camera truly was the only thing that ruined it, as the gameplay was actually rather fun and enjoyable, very Onimusha like.
Folklore (which has had more name changes than Prince), is looking really, really good. but then, what do you expect when you actually have *TIME to develop ...
i hope there's more news and better screens tomorrow!
and Microsoft's battle cry in NOVEMBER 2005 was, "wait until Halo 3!" how's that wait still treating you? it's been what, 2 years now?
give me a break.
Gears of War can only do so much, and outside of Crackdown, i haven't played any other 360 games that made me say, "Dayumm! i needs to get dis here 360!" 360 and Wii fans are playing the waiting game just like PS3 fans.
360: waiting for: Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Bioshock, Halo 3
...
i only have one thing to say about this:
Ninja Gaiden Sigma on June 14th in Japan. less than 30 days away.
June will be the start of a big change for the PS3 in Japan.
July (Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Lair), will be the start of a big change for the PS3 in North America.
it's funny how, when no games are out, consoles don't sell, and then, when games come out, console's sell. i mean, it's almost like us gamers are buying the console beca...
i do find it funny that there is another game that is actually in *PRE ALPHA (which is before Alpha and Beta), that looks, well, phenomenal.
that game is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. also scheduled for a September release, yet it looks incredibly polished and complete, though it's not near Beta status.
i've seen both the Halo 3 Beta, and Resistance: Fall of Man at their early stages (i was at E3 last year, when Resistance was playable for multiplayer, it was also ...
