*PLEASE, i beg of you, to curb your expectations.
that will only lead to disappointment.
while i'm definitely curious as to what this announcement is (if an announcement is even coming at all), i can't let myself get pumped up.
until June 11th, i'll have low expectations as to what the announcement is.
my thoughts on the matter are that it's not Killzone (they said it's real-time debut will be at E3 in July, not before).
games sell hardware. end of story.
right now, the PS3 doesn't have many real big systems (though i personally think Resistance, Oblivion, Motorstorm, and VF5 are must haves), yet it's still selling a consistent, if low number.
what do you people think will happen when titles like Ninja Gaiden, Little Big Planet, Warhawk, Lair, Heavenly Sword, MGS4, Killzone, SOCOM, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank Future, and Uncharted hit this year?
some may think that...
you guys know the commercial with the ravens bursting out of the eggs was awesome.
anyway, this was a *GREAT commercial, and i'm looking forward to the majority of the games they showed.
they forgot "PAIN" though. maybe it wasn't ready at the time this video was edited and put together.
man, i'm itching to see how Aqua Vita and Sky Blue look on my HD set. i imagine it's going to be breathtaking.
i got my PS3, i got my HDTV,...
considering that the entire GTA series (from 3-San Andreas) has sold more units than the first two Halo's combined, i think it should be MS worried that GTA IV may cut into *HALO's sales.
both franchises are completely different, and appeal to a different demographic, though there is some overlap.
for example, i'm not a big Halo fan (i loved the first one, the second disappointed, and from watching my roommate play the Halo 3 beta, it looks to be more of the same...
Sucker Punch *IS apparently working on a secret PS3 title, so there will be something coming out for the console this year, whether or not it's Sly Cooper is still open.
i've noted that, as of late, developers have been in extremem denial mode (kind of like Square-Enix denying flat out that FFXIII would be revealed at E3 2006, only to have a trailer for it).
it's like the entire gaming industry has turned into one giant poker match, with people bluffing all over ...
that's pretty cool.
i wouldn't mind City of Heroes on the PSP. i already have a PC account, so it'd be cool if i could that with me on the go.
for me, the best way to beat him is to save all of your Ninpo (the two you start with, and the Devil vile you find after coming from the cave), then unload all three Ninpo attacks. this will bring his health down to below a quarter.
now, charge up a Triangle attack to full force, and wait for him to come closer, before he gets too close, unleash the attack. he may block, but if you pull it off, you'll defeat him with that one supercharged attack.
i've beat him in...
the games on my list *ALL come from companies that pretty much have a track record for making AA games, if not AAA games.
Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Sony Santa Monica, Konami, Capcom, Square-Enix, those guys make some good stuff, and make up the majority of my list.
like i said, there's a lot of games i'm looking forward too, i'm just trying to decide how i'll get the money to buy them all.
i'm more interested in this game now than i was before, and i was really interested in it before.
i thought it was a lot of fun, and has some surprising depth hidden in there (such as your souls leveling up as you collect more souls of the same type).
the game is gorgeous, controls well, and has a great visual style to it that is both new and familiar. it looks like something out of a painting.
i didn't understand the story at all either, but that'...
this is definitely my most anticipated PS3 game.
since i first saw it last year, i was sold, but after seeing the diluge of gameplay vids, and the trailer at Sony's Gamer's Day a few weeks back, i'm chomping at the bit for new information.
i hope they release a demo sometime this summer, or a few months before the game releases.
what i'm really interested to know, however, is how they're using the SPUs/Cell/RSX in this game, because their results a...
i love my PS3 to death, but even that was a little too sugary sweet gushing for me.
i think i need to brush my teeth now...
i think it's safe to say that nobody really buys a games console for it's early, first 6 months on the market titles. that's just...silly.
i bought a PS3 for titles that have been released, titles that are forthcoming this year, and titles that haven't been announced yet:
Released:
Resistance (own it)
Motorstorm (roommate owns it)
Virtua Fighter 5 (own it)
Oblivion (own it, though my fiancee plays it on the PS3. i play it on our PC)
...
damn, the PS3 is huge. since mine is always standing vertically, and all i see is the front, i forgot how damn *BIG the thing is. in that one shot with the girl raising her arms up in victory(the one used for this story), it looks like it's as large as her entire torso!
this ad campaign looks weird, and full of canned enjoyment (ie, they aren't playing the console at all, and the photographer's like, "just look like you're having fun!). it's no different than the Wii adver...
my most anticipated game for the PS3 this year. everything about this game screams what the PS3 is all about: killer visuals, amazing physics, and incredible animations.
Naughty Dog are definitely doing things that couldn't be done last generation on home consoles.
between Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Assassin's Creed, Ratchet and Clank, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma coming this year, my action/adventure game quota is nearly full.
as...
if there's a best TV that suits all tastes, but i was going to get a 42" Sharp 1080p LCD set, but now i'm getting a 40" Samsung 1080p LCD set, which ultimately had better specs for the same price.
my roommate has a 46" Samsung 1080p set, and it's beautiful, but too damn big, especially for his bedroom. 40" is perfect for me and my fiance and our bedroom. i'll be ordering it this week, and hopefully getting it by next week (fingers crossed).

the good ol' "Sony and MS are only focusing on Halo and Grand Theft Auto," line. i never get tired of that one.
so i guess, Little Big Planet, Home, Alan Wake, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Heavy Rain, and Heavenly Sword aren't innovative enough?
man, old Nintendo is rearing it's ugly head again, lately. they've taken a beating the past 10 years, and now they're the "comeback kid," and they let it get to their head.
l...
what i find really, really funny, is that about a year or so ago, Nintendo was all "we're not competing! we're doing our own thing!"
now, it's "we're going to be in first place this time around."
i sense a bit of that old Nintendo arrogance starting to peek it's head out...
Nintendo: Don't count your chickens before they hatch. this console war is barely a year old (now that all 3 consoles are on the market). anything can change...
i'm getting a 40" 720p Samsung in about 2 weeks (more like three if i have it delivered. i may buy it in a store, i'm not sure yet), so i can't wait to try this out.
the PS3 is a really impressive piece of technology, and it just keeps getting better and better.
now if only Sony will release more of those pesky things we call games...
my PS3 won't be complete until i'm shoving Assassin's Creed, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Heavenly Sword and Ni...
but is it ok if i love your Playstation 3 also?
you won't get jealous or anything, will you? lol.
there is *HUGE bias at most of the stores near my home.
the *TWO Best Buys near my house always have the PS3 demo stations turned off. ALWAYS. the Wii and 360 stations are always rearing to go.
the EB/Gamestop near my house also has every salesperson trying to sell me a Wii or 360, and give me and my roommates a disgusted look when we say we own a PS3, and they call it a crap system with no games (i guess they've never played Resistance, Motorstorm, VF5, or even ...
