lol. are you secretly David Jaffe? lol. reading your post, i can totally see him saying something like that.
since i forgot to comment on the actual topic during my earlier post, i'll do so here:
why is this being reported on?
this teaser is an old marketing tactic to get people fired up and, more importantly, to tune in, whether they are fore or against it.
it's like comic books, where they're like, "This issue...someone DIES!!...
my advice?
get the system with the most games you'd like to play, whether now or in the future.
for me, the only 360 titles i currently enjoy, and the ones that i'm looking forward to playing are
Crackdown, Mass Effect, Fable 2, and Bioshock (though i have a feeling it is indeed coming to the PS3 at some point in the future).
not a bad choice of games.
buuuutt...
the games i'm looking forward to on the P...
there's always a chance at redemption.
look at DMC2. that game sucked. people thought it was the end of the franchise. DMC3 fixed that.
a lot of people hated MGS2. MGS3 was stellar.
RE had gotten rather stale. RE4 reinvigorated the franchise.
Killzone was not one of my favorite games, but i could see the potential in the franchise. the problem with the first game was that the technology just couldn't handle the developer's ambitions....
and i agree with you 100%.
my roommate owns a 360, and even he accepts that it wasn't the best deal. he barely even plays the thing. he doesn't like Gears of War, or Crackdown, and doesn't like the controller. why he bought it in the first place is beyond me, but, whatever. he also has a PS3, which he plays quite a bit, just not as much as he plays his PS2 (Guitar Hero owns his soul, apparently).
me, i have a PS3, and i've been meaning to pick up a 360 for the lo...
from what i can tell, the screens are all from the extended CG trailer they showed a while back.
if anything, look at the FFXIII trailer (which is about 60% ingame), for an indication of what Versus might look like ingame. just darker and more, uh, blue.
@calderra, Square said that the FFXIII trailer they showed at E3 was real-time except for the exterior train sequences, and a few closeup shots. the parts in the forest, where she's flipping around shooting the g...
i saw your bubbles go from, like, 5 to 2 in a matter of about 5 minutes.
i guess fanboys just can't take criticism (on all camps, Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo. fanboys of all 3 are all parasites, and should go back to the cesspools that spawned them. they're not making the game industry better with their smug, self-righteous and all-knowing attitudes. they're killing it).
anyway, you get plus bubbles from me whenever i can vote. so hopefully you'll be back up to ...
i'm a 360 gamer (at least on my roommate's 360), and i still think Achievement Points are, well, pointless (no pun intended).
maybe it's because i'm not a little boy anymore, or in high school, but i just don't care about bragging rights.
the fact that i beat the final boss of Street Fighter 3 having never played the game before even once, whereas my roommate, who plays it all the time, and knows the ins and outs of game better than anyone, but still couldn't bea...
you know, i've been looking at your posts for so long, but i can't take it anymore and i have to say this.
best. Avatar icon. ever.
that is all.
*edit. oh, yeah, and i agree with your post. Blu Ray is going to be very beneficial to gaming, even if shortsighted dissenters can't (and refuse to) see it.
i was intrigued after i first heard about it, and saw screenshots for it.
after seeing this video, i'm even moreso.
i thought the part where he ran from color to black and white was rather cool, and the effect it conveyed to me was a menacing one.
it's like, the guy is leaving the "safe" colorful environs to the "menacing" black and white environment. cool stuff.
i'm looking forward to getting my hands on it and c...
i know. it's driving me crazy.
it was only the arena demo we've seen so much of, but it was so fun.
the controls were fluid and responsive, the animations were smooth and graceful, and the number of moves she had at her disposal between her various stances were sweet as hell, and fun to pull off. and that was nearly a *YEAR* ago! having worked in the gaming industry for 3 years, i know the type of tweaking that goes on during the last 2 to 3 months, so i can't ev...
i'm just as obsessed, if not moreso, with Heavenly Sword than you also!
it doesn't help that i actually got to get my hands on it for 3 oh so brief minutes at E3 last year.
oh, Nariko, you c*cktease you!
Sony really needs to get a demo out for this game asap. like, this month.
i know the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo is hitting this month (man, i can't wait for that one either), but a Heavenly Sword, Lair, and Warhawk demo would really be ...
yeah, and since you checked last, it's 9:2. things change.
the PS3 has just launched in Europe, with positive results.
even if Wal Mart is taken into account in terms of sales, the PS3 has a little over 3 million instal base now, including the, apparently 800,000 plus stand alone Blu Ray players that have sold so far.
at best, HD DVD is at 1 million units installed or more, but still not enough to make a dent in Blu Ray's installed base. a base tha...
what everyone has failed to mention is that this poll was conducted via *X BOX LIVE*.
this poll, and article, is pointless.
it'd be like polling 100% Playstation 3 users, and asking if they want to keep MGS4 or FFXIII, exclusive to the PS3.
of course they would.
in truth, it doesn't matter how many 3rd party titles go multi-platform. what that ultimately means is that the 1st and 2nd party developers will have to work even harder to ...
i think Insomniac have said that they'd like to release a title a year.
Resistance came out last year, Ratchet and Clank are headed for this year, Resistance 2 will probably be released next year. that's a nice 2 year gap between them, so it's not like they're rushing it, especially if it hits November 2008. then, in 2009, i'm sure there will be the follow-up to Ratchet and Clank Future, and so on.
they've also said that both games are just the start of what they...
i almost choked on my soda when i read "Halo is bigger than them all."
really now? interesting.
Halo - 5 million copies sold
Halo 2 - 9.2 million copies sold
Total copies sold - 14.2 million copies sold
Final Fantasy X - 6 million units
Final Fantasy X2 - 5.14 million units
Final Fantasy XII - 3.88 (thus far)
Total copies sold - 15.02 million copies sold
(the whole FF serie...
a lot of what you said, but there's nothing wrong with speculating about Ninja Gaiden 2 coming to the PS3.
i mean, really, why create the first one on the PS3, if you're just going to make the sequel exclusive to another console?
in all of their interviews, Itagaki and Hayashi have expressed, quite adamantly, that they want Ninja Gaiden to have the biggest install base possible.
what would be the point of getting PS3 fans hooked on Ninja Gaiden (vi...
apparently, Itagaki made more than one 360 *EXPLODE*, so i don't see what your boasting about.
the point of the anecdote is that they were both pushing the units so hard that they practically fell apart. well, the 360 did, but apparently, the PS3 just smoked. big difference here.
in either case, it's not relevant or useful fuel for any type of fanboy flame wars.
doesn't matter if a devkit smokes or explodes, considering how frequently they're being...
when talking about Ninja Gaiden 2, he said:
"We think Ninja Gaiden Sigma is the first chapter in the Ninja Gaiden franchise for next-generation [consoles]..."
i added emphasis on "consoles." he didn't say console, or X Box 360, he said consoles.
there's no reason why they'd make Sigma for the PS3, without considering plans for Ninja Gaiden 2 on the PS3 as well.
looking at how well Sigma is turning out, i think if ...
i've lived through the launches of the NES - PS3, and it's always the same ol stuff.
the PS2's first six months on the market were a$$tacular.
it wasn't until month six, when Onimusha, Zone of the Enders(with MGS2 demo), and Resident Evil: Code Veronica (with DMC demo) were released that the PS2 started to show an inkling of what it was capable of. by October of that year, we had GTA3, the game that shaped an entire generation. a few weeks later, MGS2 hit.

Sony can't seem to win, can they?
they announce 2 SKUs, and people b*tch that the 20gig was gimped, and that they'll pick up the 60gig because it's soooo much better than the "tard" 20gig PS3.
now that they've decided, "hey, you're right. you guys don't want the 20gig PS3, as evidenced by our retail partners not ordering more, so we're discontinuing it altogether," and people are all "thanks for eliminating choice, Sony! you guys are teh ...
