i know, odd isn't it?

i guess it shows we all have taste, and can appreciate a quality team-up.

i don't even like Halo, this vid rocked.

it would have been neat to throw Kratos in there, though. he'd have had a blast ripping through those baddies.

not being insightful would be to release the console with a 20 or 60gig HDD, and forcing consumers to WAIT nearly a year before they could obtain a larger HDD to use.

both the 20gig and 60gig PS3 are compatible with ANY 2.5" SATA HDD.

they are also compatible with ANY external USB HDD, which, last i saw, you could find a 500gig external HDD for $150 on newegg or some such site.

Sony was plenty forward thinking enough concerning the PS3. that 2...

when i saw it earlier today, i wasn't sure i'd like it if Master Chief won.

when all was said and done, and my fiancee both were like "this is the best video game video ever made." lol.

i especially loved his response to the question:

Q: "Rob Wright: With the amount of time that's spent designing lifelike graphics for one character, are game developers forced to spend less time on other elements like story, dialogue, music and voice acting?"

A: "Absolutely not. Everything gets cranked up to these high-production value levels. It goes back to the size of the teams. On Legacy of Kain, I started out as the lead programmer and then be...

i'd much rather get Blu Ray now, then have to buy a pricey add-on later (which would probably have cost $200 anyway, as Sony would have had to open up manufacturing plants to produce the separate BD drives for the PS3 anyway), or a completely new SKU that uses the BD drive for games and movies.

the fact of the matter is that games like Resistance and Motorstorm are over 15gigs, and these titles are coming from developers that aren't prone to sloppy coding.

the fa...

you're basing your argument concering the losses Sony takes manufacturing PS3's on information we got last year, before the console launched.

since then, Sony has undergone quite a few cost cutting measures:

1.) they moved from 90nm Cell production, to the much cheaper, and efficient 69nm process.

2.) they removed the EE from PS3 hardware, which was adding to the cost of the unit.

3.) Blue laser diode problems have been ironed out, a...

the price is coming down this year. and by at least $50. at the most, $100.

of course, i base this scenario off of the assumption that the many killer titles hitting the PS3 exclusively this year will not spur hardware sales (highly unlikely).

IF, the PS3 sales don't pick up by the time games like MGS4 and Ratchet and Clank hit, or after, there will be a price drop.

i actually expect that, realistically, a price drop will hit in Spring 2008, when s...

so, a trilogy that managed to alienate it's fanbase in the last two films (The Matrix)...

and a trilogy that everybody and their grandma already has on DVD (LOTR).

call me when Spider-Man 1-3, X-Men 1 and 2, The Incredibles, Toy Story 1 and 2, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, Indiana Jones Trilogy, and the Star Wars Trilogy come out on HD DVD.

oh, wait, those flicks are exclusive to Blu Ray.

nevermind.

i do think the format wa...

i'm not interested in the Wii. not until it drops below $100. see, i already had a Gamecube, and Gamecube games were fine without a gimmicky controller attached to it.

i'd love to play Super Smash Bros and Metroid Prime, but ironically enough, Smash Bros isn't even going to use the wand! so i have to beg the question, why not release it on the Gamecube? looking at the trailer, the visuals aren't that much different or above the Gamecube, so why not make two versions to appeal t...

after i saw this running rather pathetically at E3 last year, i lost all interest in this game.

i mean, it was Silicon Knights! the guys behind the amazing Eternal Darkness, and the Twin Snakes remake! how could they go wrong?

by having the game playable when it was clearly not ready for it.

i wouldn't have minded another year of guided demonstrations. i understand they were proud of what they were doing, but like the Penny Arcade game, they should...

about this game *UNTIL i saw all the previews that have been released this past weekend.

now, i'm eager to see more videos, read more interviews, and gawk at more screenshots.

it was definitely on my list as a potential rental, but after hearing about it, and looking at the videos that back up the gameplay, the game looks to be delivering everything they promised us before a single screenshot was released, and all we saw were CG videos.

these peopl...

is why is it that the best two games on the Wii are Gamecube games? (Zelda and Paper Mario, both former Gamecube games)

no one bothers to note that the Wii's gaming lineup for the forseeable future is, in fact, worse, and very sparse, compared to the PS3's upcoming line-up.

Nintendo fans are waiting for Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros, and Metroid Prime. well, once they hit, then what?

at least the PS3's topselling titles are PS3 games (Resistance and Mot...

but these videos defintely have me really eager for the upcoming demo (which better hit before the game releases this July).

three more months, and the PS3 floodgates slowly start to open, by years end, the PS3 exclusives will be hitting rather hard:

Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Lair
Heavenly Sword
Little Big Planet
Home
Warhawk
Ratchet and Clank Future
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
LA Noire
Metal Gear Solid 4 <...

but what happens, Game, when, say, a *SANDBOX* style game needs more than 8 gigs?

can you imagine how @sstacular it would be to have to swap discs each time you went from city to city?

sure, for linear games, multiple discs isn't so much a problem. it's a bit 1996, but it's not too irritating.

if technology has evolved, however, why *NOT use it?

why am i, and those like me, a fool, if we think a game will require more than 8 gigs? ...

i'm so sick of hearing the "Sony is forcing Blu Ray down people's throats" bs i could just pop.

imagine, if you will, that McDonalds is releasing a new burger, made entirely of grass.

you don't want a burger made entirely of grass, so, what do you do?

*YOU DON'T BUY IT.*

the same thing applies here. if you don't want Blu Ray, *YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY A PS3*

there are other gaming alternatives here, people. Sony isn...

it's not just Sony developers saying the PS3 is a very capable machine.

Team Ninja (a Microsoft and X Box centric developer), have said numerous times that when you put in the effort to learn the intricacies of the platform, it's surprising what you can pull off.

Insomniac (2nd party, not owned by Sony, so they can say what the hell they want), have had nothing but praise for the PS3.

Kojima Productions (3rd party) have said positive things about t...

all these spin-doctor reporters have been playing the upcoming PS3 games, but what about *US*, the gamer?

every article i've been reading about Drake's Fortune, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank, Lair, etc, have had the reporter mention, "the demo we got our hands on..."

put this sh*t up on the PSN already, Sony!

starting in June/July, and through to December this year, you have quite a few high profile, *EXCL...

or maybe David Jaffe.

possibly even Kratos himself.

on topic, i said yesterday that the quote was taken out of context simply to get people fired up.

i guarantee when they release the actual interview, it's going to get so many hits the servers will probably crash.

which is exactly what they wanted, really. massive hits.

i mean, it's like everyone across the net forgot how advertising works.

look at it this way:

the 360 Elite is $480.

a $50 price drop for the PS3 down to $550 would bring it within $70 of the Elite.

a $70 price difference is better than, say, $200 or $120, which is where the difference currently stands.

for that extra $70, you're getting Wi Fi, Memory Stick Readers, and a Blu Ray drive. not a bad deal, really, considering that the HD DVD drive of the 360 is $199, and the proprietary Wi Fi adaptor for the ...

the wait for this game is driving me insane.

i *MUST* get my hands on it again.

i'm actually tempted to ignore all of these stories, as it just makes the wait that much harder.

at least the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo is hitting this month, which should sate my Next Gen PS3 action game fix until it's release this summer, and Heavenly Sword's release this fall.

so many good games hitting in the September-December range. frustrating, but ...
