i'm not a big supporter of flamebaiting...
but holy crap, that was well played.
fricking hilarious, Snake_Doctor.
there are very few Unreal Engine games that are looking different.
Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway is a title that looks to be differentiating itself from other Unreal games, though. at least it was the last time i saw anything on it.
hell, who knows. by this point the guys could be wearing gigantic robotic suits that make them look like Rob Leifeld drawings.
man do i agree!
it seems like everyone on the good ol' internet has segmented themselves off into one faction or the other.
personally, i really, really love my PS3, but i'm looking forward to some great 360 games too (Mass Effect, Bioshock, Fable 2, and Alan Wake are pushing me towards adoption of a 360 when they release).
why people have such a hard time with others who disagree (at least the ones who disagree in a logical, rational fashion), i d...
my roommate has currently been playing this game, and aside from it being very fun, and i think the textures are good, but what point is having good textures when the environments look like they were made in 3D Studio Max?
my point is, the environments look like *GAME LEVELS, not actual locations.
if it was more natural feeling, then sure, the environments would be great. as it stands, it feels like you're roaming around a movie *SET.
fun game thou...
you're probably right.
this is awesome.
why hasn't this story gotten more comments?
i guess everyone is still in the daily flamewar threads...
i love how just about all of the comments in this thread were about giving Torchy bubbles.
oh yeah, and here's +bubbles for you Torchy.
and who the hell disagreed with you?
i *HAVE played it on my PS3.
i just upscaled the PS2 version. haw haw!
anyway, it doesn't matter if it comes to the PS3 or not. i doubt there'll be any significant visual improvements to warrant the $60.
i'll just enjoy the PS2 version.
this is indeed a blow for HD DVD.
i wasn't interested in Blu Ray for movies until i got my HDTV. now i'm going crazy for more HD content.
my fiancee works at 20/20 Video, and when it comes to high def video, they *ONLY rent Blu Ray.
the writing is on the wall for HD DVD.
Blu Ray has the movie support, the PS3, and now it seems, more and more support from retailers. the cost of Blu Ray players is also dropping, so even that plus on th...
i read this story, like, 4 MONTHS ago.
anyway, i agree that they should have been so damn c*cky and arrogant (if anything for PR purposes, as i don't give a rats ass about c*cky statements. i'm not buying a console because some corporate stiff told me to. i'm buying a console because it has what i want. end of story), but this quote is, at least, a few months old. i think after GDC, when Home and Little Big Planet started the upward swing of Sony perception amongst the media an...
the system would be "useless," as you say it, if all it did was play games.
the PS3 does *MORE THAN JUST PLAY GAMES.
i'm going to completely ignore the fact that the PS3 has plenty of quality games (according to metacritic, the PS3 has more 75 and up rated games than that bastion of innovation and creativity, the Wii), and focus on other things the PS3 can do.
even without games, you'd still have one of the best Blu Ray and upscaling DVD ...
what really annoys me is that kotaku hasn't even *UPDATED their original, BS story about it being a flop.
there are still people commenting on that thread, even though we've seen that the PS3 has had a rather successful looking launch.
it's stupid, BS FUD like kotaku spews that keeps me from ever going to that site.
sadly, there are too many sites out there with the same "SONY is TEH DOOMED!" mentality.
personally, i think ...
it would have been nice if there was an indication that this was *FOR THE UK, and not the US.
i was all excited, thinking that there'd be some new PS1 games ready for me next week.
grrr...
why do people fill their pants with a steaming pile of crap every single time one of these stories is released?
i mean, wasn't it considered, by everyone on this site, that the previous story was a little, eh, "inaccurate," to say the least? it was chock full of "unnamed projects" and unconfirmed projects.
at least this list is a bit more reasonable, and logic dictates that there will be sequels to best-selling series like God of War, Resistan...
small list?
that's 15(FIFTEEN) games. at roughly $60 a pop.
$900.
add those cool multi-platform games i'm dying for, and that's another 6 games, also at $60 a pop.
$360
most of those games are hitting at about the same time.
do you have $900 to spend on games at one time? or $1260?
probably not.
i know i don't.
15 games is more than enough for starter games. a...
it's only available for the UK Motorstorm.
something you'd *THINK this post would inform us of.
as it stands, someone who comes here first for news would think that the update was available for the US version.
this is what happens when a product or service is rushed to the market.
i think they felt pressured to release *SOMETHING for Motorstorm, since plenty of it's fans were really eager for the update.
now look, a bu...
sweet christmas i hope they make a Beyond Good and Evil 2.
i *LOVED the first one, and, in typical retarded publisher fashion, they released it during a crowded holiday season, when titles like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Splinter Cell (Chaos Theory, i think), and so many others hit. it was stupid. if they had held it back for a drier game period (say, the following spring), it may have had a chance.
you'd think the Nintendo Zelda crowd would have gobbled it...
it's not confidence, it's logic.
right now, the PS3 doesn't have many games that would make a lot of people rush out and buy it.
you know how people go mad sh*t crazy for Pokemon?
well, why wouldn't the *MILLIONS of Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy fans go out and purchase a PS3 when those titles hit?
if you follow console trends, the PS2 didn't really pick up sales until *AFTER games like GTA3 and MGS2 hit, a full *YEAR after the ...
but it's only coming out for the PS3 *THIS YEAR.
X Box 360 owners will have to wait until *NEXT YEAR.
if 360 fans count games like Oblivion as exclusive, because they appeared on the 360 first, i think, as a PS3 fan, i can count Haze as a PS3 exclusive, since it hits the PS3 first.
in either case, it's looking to be a rather interesting FPS for *BOTH consoles, and it's about time the PS3 became the lead SKU on *ONE GAME.
it'll be int...
this video does not do the game justice *AT ALL.
i've been playing the demo off and on since it became available, and i'm *HOOKED.
i had heard of the game sometime after E3 last year, but it wasn't on my radar until the TGS show, when i finally saw some video for it. i was intrigued then, but after getting my hands on the demo, it's one of my more anticipated titles.
if i can change the text of the game to English (since the VO's are already in Eng...
