i accidentally disagreed with you, i was trying to agree with tplarkin, but for some reason, it added a disagree to you. stupid N4G...
anyway, it'd be nice to see some E3 content from Sony, but i won't hold my breath.
in either case, there's going to be some good stuffing coming from the event anyway, even if we don't get to download it onto the PS3.
oh, who am i kidding, this is a brilliant idea from Microsoft, and if Sony doesn't copy it, it'd be...
my predictions?
lots and lots of happy gamers 1:1
lots and lots of disappointed gamers: 1:1
that is all.
while i'd absolutely *LOVE to have some kick@ss demos and trailers on the PSN during E3, all it is on the PS Store is a banner.
the very same banner that you'll find on the E3 official site.
the site even has the tagline, "Get Read For Something New."
i hope they add stuff, but i wouldn't be too quick to jump on the "Sony is going to offer lots o' stuff on the PSN at E3" bandwagon just yet.
i'll remain cautiously ...
i'm a big Playstation 3 fan, but your point would have been better stated, and taken, without all that X Box ThreeFixMe BS. it wasn't funny, or clever.
you made a great point about games released later on the PS3, that actually have *IMPROVEMENTS over the 360 version of a year ago, yet it still gets a lower score (like Oblivion, even Fight Night Round 3, i believe, got a lower score than the 360 version), why'd you have to ruin it with fanboy crap?
seriously. we ...
i *LOVE the demo, so i'm really looking forward to diving into this game when it releases in October.
i just hope it won't get overlooked by the other great games hitting around the same time.
that last comment
"This will be downloadable via the Playstation Network…so keep an eye out for this in the very near future…and i mean very near future!"
has me thinking that there *IS something planned for delivering E3 content to PS3 users next week.
if we walked away with only 4 playable demos, the Sony press conference, and 5 or 6 HD trailers, i'd call it a good week.
i'm getting more pumped for E3 every day.
...
just so you know, Insomniac, and I believe Pandemic, all fund their own games.
they don't have to pass their ideas through a publisher like Sony or Microsoft to get funding. they've (through releasing some quality games), have earned enough capital to make the games they like, then hope a publisher will understand their vision and publish it for them.
i'd *LOVE to see Sony do something like this, and i wouldn't be surprised if they did.
they have plenty of games to show off, and most of them are in demo form (like Uncharted, Lair, Heavenly Sword), and how hard is it to upload some videos over the course of the three or four days giving us the highlights.
for example, on the 10th, Sony could upload their Killzone PS3 presentation (barring any exclusive coverage deals with a game site or magazine), as well as a ...
when someone disagrees with you, it'd be nice to know *WHY.
Sony knows what to do to get people talking about them, whether it's positive or negative.
look at Killzone PS3, for example. for good or ill, it's become one of, if not *THE most anticipated unveilings at E3, overshadowing anything that Microsoft and Nintendo may cook up.
if they don't deliver, well, they have a bunch of other great games hitting to take the sting off.
but if they *DO deliver, well, all eyes were on them, so maximum positive press...
i'm one of the folks that do enjoy special features, but these features seem a bit, i dunno, "meh."
but the truth of the matter, or the fact of the matter is that
Pixar Movies (can't wait for The Incredibles and Finding Nemo on Blu Ray)
The Spider-Man Trilogy (comes out this fall)
The X Men Trilogy (though three sucked monkey balls)
The Star Wars Trilogy (George loves money. Star Wars fans seem to love to spend their money on countl...
it's supposed to hit in either late September, or October. i'd go with October.
this game just keeps looking better and better.
this fall i'm going to be one happy PS3 owner (as if i wasn't happy now, but whatever!)
after getting my hands on this game what seems like ages ago at E3 2006, i'm dying for another go.
God of War fans will feel right at home with this game in terms of the smoothness of the controls. i also have to say that Nariko has a kick@ss move set, much flashier and pleasing to the eye than Kratos, and this is coming from a guy that thinks ol' Krate's is one of the most badass male protagonists in gaming, but Nariko is surely his match. probably soul mates even.
the issue with the pirates taking, like, a thousand bullets before they dropped was something they covered at the Sony Gamer's Day, and they said they weren't even close to finished tweaking the gameplay.
they also said that the demo didn't even include all of Nathan's animation sets, and they only had about 1/3 implemented so far.
so our jaws are on the floor already from an unfinished build of a game scheduled to release about 5 months from now. i've worked in ...
what's really funny to me, is that the most vocal people on this flamewar probably don't have a 360 *OR a PS3, yet they hop on the bandwagon because IGN said so.
i admit, i haven't played the 360 version, but i've been playing the PS3 version since it came out.
TRUTH: There are jaggies on the PS3 version.
FALSE: The PS3 has framerate issues. During 5 hours of play so far, i have yet to run into *ANY framerate issues.
honestly, first ...
since it's reveal, this game has been my most anticipated of all the upcoming PS3 games (yes, even Metal Gear Solid 4; i'm a sucker for new IPs).
this game looks to excel at everything from gameplay, to graphics (i don't think i've seen a better looking console game than this), and animation.
Naughty Dog has always been a pioneering company on the platforms they develop for, and i see their game engine becoming a sought after property once this game hits.
...
all i have to say is that there is more to the PS3 than just MGS4 and FFXIII.
Killzone, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, The Getaway, Heavenly Sword, Lair, White Knight Story, Little Big Planet, etc.
they aren't exactly chewed gum.
it's no surprise that the PS3's sales are slowly starting to ascend with the release of more titles.
yes, MGS4 and FFXIII will have a huge effect on PS3 sales, but there are other titles that will spur sales ...
i've been playing the PS3 version, and the biggest difference is that the PS3 has jaggies.
that bullsh*t ign vid where they say the PS3 has a choppy framerate is BS.
i'm running the game in 1080i (my TVs max setting), and i haven't seen any framerate issues *AT ALL. not even a slight hiccup. i'll run it in 720p and see if that causes issues, but i highly doubt it.
graphical differences, aside, why does this matter? the actual *GAMEPLAY of the game ...
I've been reading kotaku for about a year now, and they've been sh*tting in Sony's cereal *LOOOOONG before that Home ridiculousness.
right after E3 2006, after the price of the PS3 was announced, kotaku hopped onto the bash-wagon, and you couldn't find a single positive story about Sony until TGS 06 in September (when they grungingly admited that Sony had actually made a *GAMES machine), and then at the GDC in March, when Home and Little Big Planet were revealed, despite the &q...
