I was mainly thinking of all the mobile spin off stuff. They do a good job with their main stuff for the most part.
Yep. I came here to say it but there it is.
I don’t really understand why any of this is bad news. Days Gone was a good game but we really don’t need for every single game to become a franchise. Let’s see more new IP without sequels. Let’s also save the sequels for franchises that really merit them.
For a company that is supposedly going in a different direction with Game Pass, Microsoft sure seems to be trying to desperately claw as much traditional market share away from Sony as possible. It's creepy how much nonsense like this is popping up. It's almost like an election year. My guess is that after all of these acquisitions, Phil Spencer has to deliver now or else.
It looks really good, but aren't these shots all from the extended trailer?
I definitely don’t think he should be fired, but I don’t think he is above criticism at this point. I really didn’t like the statement he made about not seeing the point in supporting older titles.
I do realize that he is in a difficult position there. Sony doesn’t want to add backwards compatibility, so he needs to downplay interest in it. Nevertheless, to me he came across as an executive who doesn’t get gamers. Sean Layden would have handled that infinitely better.
I think it’s probably the really big boobs.
I've come to calibrate again...
Very nice mix of jrpgs and crpgs both old and new. Only two I would add is Planescape and Disco Elysium.
While this number seems low, the way they are presenting the data in this article is a little different from what we are used to. Usually we only get a figure for the number of copies sold. Publisher revenue is of course after Steam takes its cut. Also, if we are talking about revenue, whose revenue are we talking about? Is it exclusively referring to the money brought in by Kojima Productions or is it all the money raked in by the publisher? At any rate, it is good performance for a title t...
Kefka is basically just a ripoff of the Joker, but his nihilistic behavior is supported by his backstory. I don't really think of him as any more or less fleshed out than other Final Fantasy villains.
I have heard people talk about how relatable and realistic Sephiroth is for years now. I don't really agree. I guess he showed some emotion at Nibelheim but it's hard to justify a character arch that goes from war hero to genocidal maniac after one earth shatterin...
@Sephiroushin Yeah I kinda agree about the Junction system. It was cool that they tried something new but it made the game so easy to break. Also, it made the grind at the end of the game feel worse for me because fighting high level enemies felt kinda pointless.
Nice job tossing Planescape in there to try and avoid all the complaints from the CRPG fans. It won't work, but its cute.
I also think that despite the fact that VI is a great game it wouldn't really translate well to ultra-realistic 4K graphics. I will probably get burned at the stake for saying that but there it is.
I could dig an VIII remake. Its not my favorite but it has grown on me over the years.
Weird. I always figured fans of VI also loved VII and IX just not as much. That's the way I thought about it. Back in the day I was obsessed with VII. I like VI and IX a little better now, but VII is still a fantastic game in my mind.
All I remember was everyone talking about how terrible the demo was. The guys on Giant bomb roasted it.
While I do think I’m the devs should have been informed ahead of time, isn’t it a bit odd that these guys were publishing exclusives for a dead console in the first place? I mean you have to at least anticipate a shut down in the future.
I have to agree with you here. While I believe that Sony is a better console choice for the future, it is a shame to see them ignore the past. I would love to at least get ps1/ps2 backwards compatibility out of them.
Let's be honest though, none of these company's is acting altruistically. Microsoft is "giving away" its past for now to gain subscribers and win over market share for its consoles. If they were the industry leader they would hide their gems...
@VerminSC I think it can be described as fun. While you don’t fight, you have an incredible amount of agency over your character. It can be a lot of fun acting like a complete train wreck of a human being.
Nope. There you go. I saved you a click.
