Man, they could at least tell us if they cancelled it. I know there would be fallout from that, but maybe they could leak it to Jason Schreier or something like that. At this point all of this extra merch and attention just stings.
It’s not surprising at all that people like me are still around. My opinion is just as valid as yours and my 60 dollar vote carries as much weight as yours does.
We never got concrete numbers of Rebirth’s sales, but something tells me that the pivot to multiplatform and the shake up in management are signs that the Remake trilogy was a bad idea. If anything it’s surprising that people like you are still around. There won’t be many of you left when Remake part 3 flops and Sq...
I like Hamaguchi. I really do. But I highly doubt that they are going to stick the landing after all the effing around they have done with the original plot. Maybe Nomura and Kitase can let Hamaguchi direct his own game in the future without meddling. I am willing to bet that that game will be much better.
There is a narrative out there that seems to suggest that the big publishers are always the ones pushing for live service multiplayer and the small independent devs are the ones always fighting against them. What people fail to realize is that a successful live service game is enticing to both because it guarantees a revenue stream and helps the dev avoid laying off their staff between single player launches. That’s not to say that these types of games are a good idea, but it is an understand...
The lackluster sales are going to happen on all the platforms. That’s just a byproduct of making shit games.
Not bad. But nothing surprising. Definitely worth waiting for a quick recap on these tiny shows. Getting too hyped for a State of Play or Nintendo Direct isn’t a good idea anymore. We are way past the days of e3
Xbox is the only one who puts on the big hour long shows anymore, but let’s be honest, you have to actually release the games you hype up. Looking at you Perfect Dark.
I did it for David Hayter to be honest. They appear to have paid him to promote Delta, and more voice work for the actual Snake would be something I would continue to support.
I boycotted MGSV until fairly recently because of how Kojima treated him at the time. A lot of what we enjoyed about the series was more than just work of one man, it was a collaborative effort that involved the input of localization teams. You wouldn’t know it by with how Kojima slaps his name on every cut sce...
I’ll take Metal Gear Solid 1, but what I really want is Metal Gear in full modern glory. Let’s close the loop and tell the whole story to a modern audience.
He’ll yeah. Let’s watch them eff up the best game in their catalogue. Love it when companies do this with remakes. It’s like when that college football team that you hate chokes on their cupcake game. I’ll get the popcorn.
Yep.
People still play this game?
Yeah. I’m glad I finally jumped into the PC market. I love my ps5, but if they keep trying to churn out live service crap, I am not going to bother getting a ps6.
It’s bad enough they are phasing out physical discs. If you take away ownership and excellent first party exclusives, it might as well be a Steam box.
Revenue isn’t profit.
And to think, no one wants to buy the games anymore…
Xbox better fire them all then. Wouldn’t want to be accidentally successful for a second.
Give it a day or two. Day one reviews are largely meaningless.
I think it’s helpful to the people who were hoping that it’s not just more of the same. I hated the first game, but saw potential for a sequel that found ways to refine aspects of the gameplay and add meaningful combat. Good for the people who liked it to bring with, but I personally won’t touch the sequel with a ten foot pole now.
Let’s go in order and get a proper Metal Gear 1/2 game with young Solid first.
This is spot on. Most of the time, we actually like the stories that are inclusive… if they are actually good stories. Unfortunately, a lot of what we see now feels forced. No one bothers with character development because they didn’t really like the characters that were writing to begin with.
I bet they paywall Emerald and Ruby.
