Probably needed to wait for Pocahontas to come out so he could shamelessly steal its plot.

Hey look, its the same guy with the same comment from the other thread on this topic. Everyone take a moment to laugh at how triggered this weirdo is.

I wonder if there is any chance of another book announcement. I really liked the most recent book Sapkowski put out.

My experience with it is that the core experience (main story and companion side quests) is pretty solid. However the AI is pretty bad and the game is padded with a lot of fetchy side content. This was the most depressing part about it since The Witcher 3 had the best side content of any open world I have ever played.

The ugly truth is that both Cyberpunk and Final Fantasy 15 made all of their money back on launch. The marketing more than made up for a poor product. Cyberpunk's 13 million pre-orders represented an increase over the lifetime sales of The Witcher 3. While these games would have done far better if they were finished, there is no denying that these companies found a way to win, even with broken, half finished products. Way too many people blindly pre-order.

If Microsoft spent as much money on development as they do on stupid corporate propaganda pieces like this one, this guy would have a whole library of exciting games to play on his new paper weight.

Buying third party devs instead of building up their own studios.

Trying to price fix the industry with Game Pass in order to run the competition out of business.

Let’s see if Microsoft can release one title this Gen with the critical acclaim of Something like the Last of us, God of War, Mario Odyssey or Breath of the Wild.

Probably just tired of seeing all these “journalists” sucking up to Microsoft.

As a guy who doesn’t play that many shooters, have we been going through some kind of drought in this category lately? Is Fortnite considered something else?

Exactly. There is absolutely no reason to do this. I still see morons on here trying to defend this practice. Just buy the game on day one if it means that much to you.

I don't know why more people aren't talking about this. Obviously it's a good deal right now, but so was Netflix in the early days when every Fox, Disney, Warner Brothers movie was on there six months after release. I am happy to see healthy competition, but its hard not to look at this whole Game Pass thing as a power move to wipe out all the publishers that don't bend the knee to Microsoft.

I am focusing more on the company's most recent output. It seems like once a company decides to adopt a Games as a Service model that everything ends up being about monetization. That's my main fear with Bethesda. I am very vocal about it because I don't want people blindly throwing money at pre-orders when the company has a poor track record (Elder Scrolls Blades and Fallout 76). As I said above, if Starfield turns out to be the new Skyrim or even the next Fallout 4, I will find ...

While I do tend to agree with you about some of Nintendo's problems, it is dismissive of you to assume that everyone likes the same type of gaming experience as you do. Sony has always built its platform primarily around narrative, cinematic gaming. Nintendo puts gameplay first.

I love games like The Last of Us and Uncharted, but some people just want to enjoy some pleasant, whimsical platforming. Nintendo tends to do better with those experiences. The portability of t...

I'm sick and tired of hearing about the Bloodborne sequel. It was a fantastic game. The auteur developer who made it wanted to do something else. And he did. It's called Sekiro. He has a new game coming out this year as well. Now let's see how this plays out if this were XBOX. Phil acquires From Software and forces Miyazaki to make Bloodborne 2. Miyazaki does but his heart isn't in it at all. The game is lackluster as a result.

Sequels and Franchises are fin...

How!? Do you think Phil reads the comments on ng4 and gets all bent out of shape about them.?

OG_TK_Cole I don’t recall bringing up their business strategy. I don’t care if they make their investors money. I like playing good games. That’s why I’m arguing with another fanboy head case on a gaming forum.

Buying the competition is good business but it makes for some lazy game development. Since They have made most of these new acquisitions I have yet to see anything from any of these developers that was on par with their output before they were purchased. I’m sure we ...

Interesting that "improve game output" means "buy another company to do it" for you. You are just unimaginative enough to become the next big Microsoft executive.

If Bethesda delivers a game that really captures the magic of the Morrowind to Skyrim era, I will find a way to play it. I would recommend waiting for it to actually happen though. Skyrim came out over a decade ago and it's been downhill ever since. While this is Zenimax/Bethesda's fault, Microsoft doesn't exactly have a great track record with its first/second party titles either. Both of these companies have a lot to prove.
