Remake is close but I would still like to see a new Final Fantasy with the same feel as the classics. I was not a fan of 15 but I guess it was a step in the right direction. I really hope they hit their stride again with 16.

@Banthis I have to admit I forgot about Id. BGS needs to prove its found its mojo again with Starfield at least for me personally, too much monetization going on with that studio lately.

On the same day XBOX released a bunch of trailers for games arriving in late 2022, I was playing a brand new PS5 exclusive that released that day. So yeah, I didn't really feel left hanging. I'm sure there will be plenty of info about all of those pretty trailers you saw... at the next e3.

Did what to themselves exactly? They weren't there.

People are upset because one of their favorite single player devs is currently making two multiplayer coop games (Death Loop and this). I still remember the year Bethesda did the Save Player One campaign. We got four really good single player games from them and they all sold poorly. After that everything was monetized multiplayer garbage, except for Rage 2 I guess.

I think it has more to do with the studio. I personally think Arcane has more talent than any of the other Bethesda studios because of Dishonored and Prey. Immersive Sims never really sell well though and we have to keep daddy Microsoft happy.

This is the silver lining I have been hoping for with this acquisition actually. Despite all the fanboys singing Microsoft's praises for buying these companies, having the developers of this beleaguered genre all in the hands of one publisher is scary for the fans.

Microsoft may roll out those CRPG titles in the short term to boost their representation on GamePass, but sooner or later all of these devs that Microsoft acquired will have to wait their turn to release thei...

I don't know, it felt like the only ones who even tried at all were Nintendo and XBOX. I would have to say it felt like more of a tie between these two. XBOX had more to show but Nintendo had better stuff to show. If Bethesda had any actual gameplay to show that would have tipped it but all I really learned from them was I have until November of 2022 to upgrade my graphics card.

Man, that's surprising. I would have thought that all those "free" and "high quality" titles that Game Pass was constantly adding would keep gamers too "engaged" all the time to go back to old stuff. All joking aside though, it's the Netflix of gaming. It's an ocean of special interest indie titles that few people will try even for free. Along with that is the occasional AAA gem, but Microsoft's first party titles are about as interesting as watch...

Ratchet and Clank. How is the instantaneous teleportation supposed to work if you have load times of thirty seconds or more? Even if they ported it to PS4, they would have to scrap the core gameplay mechanic. That mechanic is so important it is literally in the game's title. It's almost as if you guys aren't even paying any attention.

EDIT: I was a little confused by your statement there, so apologies. It just seems like I'm arguing at a brick wall with thi...

@TheRealTedCruz Xbox is still holding the generation back with the series S. That narrative is still very much in play. As impressive as it is, the Series S just isn't capable of providing full support for raytracing. Raytracing is what everyone was hoping for. Now all the third party titles will be held back because devs will have to include rasterization and raytracing for every title they produce. This means that environments won't be fully destructible because assets will still ne...

The "other consoles" line seems pretty unlikely, considering JAPAN studio's level of involvement.

Demon's Souls is definitely possible as a PS4 title. It doesn't use ray tracing and while the quick load times and dual sense support are used to great effect, they aren't essential to the experience like they are in Ratchet and Clank and Returnal. I don't think anyone who has played this game would argue this point. I haven't once heard anyone describe this remake of a game designed for the PS3 as an "impossible port".

Weren't they remaking the original Gothic?

I pity all the poor gamers who won't get to experience the Dual Sense this gen. Ratchet and Clank and Returnal are unplayable without that controller. This is why Sony can confidently offer this feature without having to worry about scalpers renting out next gen exclusives to anyone with a ps4. All this Share Play feature does is give console owners the ability to play games from another room with their Dual Sense controller in hand.

A game better experienced on PC.

Calm down fellas. Todd has to say stuff like that now. Phil literally owns him. I would be looking for a sunny side to things to if my customer base turned into the Forza, Gears, Halo crowd overnight. Can't wait to see those deep rpg mechanics he thinks he's gonna get to include in Starfield. Probably customizable crosshairs for all the FPS garbage he will have to shovel.

Funny how many developers manage to produce good games for all platforms. You don't have to be Rockstar either. Ice Pick Lodge makes better games than Bethesda and I'm pretty sure they are only a few dozen people. But whatever gets Todd to focus, I guess.

I don't know. It's wasn't mind blowing, but not half bad really. A new 2D Metroid and a new Shin Megami Tensei. The Zelda Anniversary is looking pretty rough though.
