I'm hoping for a good Pilotwings. I wasn't a fan of the one for 3DS since it lacked the light exploration that made me waste so much time playing the N64 one. How about letting us fly around little Europe? And bring back birdman mode.
And his Chinese ripoff cell phone reviews :). I hope he gets one of those Wii U GamePad tablet knockoffs.
What's wrong with Retro?
I agree with the author that Retro should be given a go at a 3DS Zelda. I trust Nintendo EAD with the console Zeldas since they haven't gone wrong yet, and until they do I couldn't imagine risking the Zelda franchise on another, albeit great devolper. Retro got Metroid since that was a dead franchise on everything but handhelds. Zelda is still going strong.
Saying that, I doubt Retro would do a Zelda for 3DS. Retro is too ...
LOL (for real), that comparison was ridiculous :).
Maybe it is nostalgia but Mario 64 was an amazing, groundbreaking game. It showed everyone how 3D should be done. The other games you mentioned were also great but I certainly didn't put as much time into beating them again and again like I did Mario 64. Those games still got plenty of recognition though, as seen from the many sequels most of them had. Tomb Raider even got two Hollywood movies made when Mario just got the...
I love this guy. He's hilarious.
I completely sympathize :-/. Also, I love your screen name.
Capacitive screens are so cheap now that I couldn't imagine Nintendo going with a resistive screen just to save money. If I had to guess I'd say Nintendo decided based on resistive screens being more durable and more accurate. As other people mentioned, I can't think of an advantage a capacitive screen has over resistive that isn't easily solved by the buttons and joysticks.
"So if the wiiu uses a fraction of the power the 720 and ps4 do , then that's a huge selling point."
As an adult who pays for my own electrical bill, I can agree with this. Having a lower power console that you use often could save you over 100 bucks a year. That's two games right there! Also the Wii U uses less power than the PS3 and 360, but they're old tech, before going green caught on so I'm not bashing them for it. I'm sure all the next gen...
I tend to find LOGICWINS to be one of the more level headed commenters, but I still disagree with him/her here. Undoubtedly the Wii U will be less powerful than the PS4 and 720 but I don't think that's their big problem. Nintendo systems have a stigma that only Nintendo games sell well on them. It's been that way since the N64. Having 3rd party support is the No. 1 most important aspect of having a popular system. People seem to forget that the ill-fated Dreamcast (and GC and xbox...
Playing HL2 with Alyx was a lot of fun, which is the opposite of what an AI partner is usually like. If they managed to get Elizabeth to that level, I'm looking forward to Bioshock Infinite even more now.
I BELIEVE THAT WOULD BE ANCHOR MAN. ALSO I LOVE LAMP.
I have a TON of PS3 games that still need playing. And there are games that are coming out that I'll definitely pick up. Also I just got a Wii U so I have to play through the games coming out for that (Pikmin, Rayman). I live and work away from my home country so a console being region free is very important to me. That was a huge positive for the PS3 and I'll be getting a PS4 for sure if it's also region free. If it's not... well I'll have to compare it to the 720 before ...
@dirthurts, definitely true. Every nongamer I've talked to still thinks it's a new controller for the Wii...
Man, N4G hates the Wii U, huh? Of course the Wii U doesn't suck, or if it did then it's certainly too early to tell. But some people here go by the notion if you say something loud enough and enough times it makes it true.
Video games are serious business. Every post on N4G should be taken just as seriously.
:p
I can't believe this res, it's just so high.
Well, I like it. Even if it does "fail" which I guess would be like GameCube level, Nintendo has enough spare cash and money from the 3DS to weather it out.
I guess trolling is in the eye of the beholder.
Why would that make you mad? You have two other console makers who will make the exact system you want, with tons of power and plenty of ram. If you only plan on buying one next gen system and don't care about Nintendo games, the Wii U is just one less console you need to consider.
I have no idea what the PS4 and 720 will be like... Half the predictions say they will be a small jump in power, others say a big jump. A small jump sounds more reasonable to me but I really don't know. I'm going to bet against 4k resolution at least. Even PCs aren't there yet.
