What'd they announce? Here's an article on IGN summing up Nintendo's E3 showing, or lack of.

http://www.ign.com/articles...

Are you talking about the Nintendo Direct before E3?

Nintendo doesn't make announcements at E3 anymore. They do that through Nintendo Direct. Remember when the 3DS XL was announced just after E3?

Consoles are still the best way for friends to get together and play games. Tablets and phones can be OK for gaming but they're only suited for playing by yourself.

I 100% don't understand why people want to use those inaccurate capacitive touch screens for gaming. Is it purely for the useless multitouch? Resistive screens are far more accurate and durable than capacitive. If you want a capacitive screen on the Wii U can you please explain why?

It's a shame but I doubt the new Zelda will use the wiimote.

@rainslacker

It said he'd been asking for the system for like a year. Maybe the dad saw a good deal on a used one months prior to Christmas and picked it up. You're telling me you never bought something and then later it went on sale?

I'd just tell him it was a bad elf.

As long as the parents don't make a big deal about it to the kid, he won't even remember.

"Google: define douche"

I still don't get it.

That was a great article. What an interesting take on Sega's contribution to gaming. That was pretty darn nostalgic.

I found the problem with the VMU was that it was too expensive for the amount of memory it had. I remember putting one simple Arkanoid style game on it, and that was all it could hold. No more room for even a save game. I ended up getting a memory card sans screen which held a lot more. Still the idea of being able to pick plays in sports games without your...

Neat video.

I can't believe people are saying this is somehow another anti Sony article by Kotaku. You do realize that Kotaku has like 50 articles a day? And that maybe one article from Kotaku every two days gets posted here? Yes, a lot of the time who ever submits the article to n4g chooses one that seems negative to Sony. Believe it or not Kotaku also has negative 360 and Nintendo articles as well. Shock!

Looking at today's articles I only see one t...

I like how there's doubt that next gen will even be 1080p/60fps and this guy is hoping for 4k... Not to be a negative nancy but if the PS4 supports 4k at all it will only be for games with simple graphics. Otherwise Sony would have to magically jump ahead 5 years in technology if they wanted the PS4 to be sub $1200.

I misjudged the popularity of this game and didn't preorder. Now I can't find one anywhere. Hopefully it'll be popular enough to be localized outside of Japan like Animal Crossing.

I still like the comment system here. It's better than any other site, even with its flaws. Yeah, those couple people up there didn't deserve to be bubbled down as trolls, but look at Akuma. If your right that people who constantly bash Nintendo get praised for it, why is he down to one bubble? I've found that on the whole, the people with 5+ bubbles tend to be worth listening to and people with one do not. So the system has to be working in some way.

Zebramocha, you're right that it is easy for any device with a screen and a gyroscope to do panarama: Vita, 3DS, iPhone/iPad all have games and apps that do it. The patent is specifically for a device showing the same visuals as a TV while allowing you to look "outside" what the TV shows by moving the handheld around.

Suddenly the basic is a better deal. $50 for 24 extra gigs? What year is this again?

Hm, I just use the old Zboard Fang. It doesn't do anything except put the keys in a more convenient place but I like it.

NintendoGal, you misunderstand. Hatsune-Miku lost a bubble last week and was down to one. There was much rejoicing. Through ancient dark magic Hatsune has gained another. Hatsune is a necromancer, resurrecting bubbles that should not be.

Also, the trolls, do not feed them.

Good point about the Yen, Mika. I'm sure that's a big part of it.
These numbers are better than I thought, especially the US.

I hope this doesn't affect games being localized in Europe.

Whenever I hear the word "region lock" I just get really mad for some reason. Here's hoping Sony continues to ignore Nintendo and MS and keeps everything region free.

Animal Crossing is just selling like crazy and I don't get it at all. I came very very close to buying it just based on the hype. I had the DS Animal Crossing and never got into it but every day when I StreetPass with people 75% of the time their most recent game is the new Animal Crossing. I went to three different stores and they were all sold out. There's no way I'd pay extra for the download version so I didn't get it. It's back in stores now but I'm done. Fantasy ...
