PC is easier to develop on and much more powerful than any console. We would have The Witcher 3 for a long time already if it would have done for PC only.

I hate how game UIs and gameplay are simplified to make them playable with a gamepad.

PC has suffered "consolization" for a long time already. "The Crew" is yet another example.

The list has pretty much only action games. It would be nice to see something much more complicated for consoles some day; UrW, Crusader Kings, etc. They would require keyboard and mouse but it shouldn't be problem with PS4.

Absolutely.

PC is best for gaming but it is very good to see mobile devices getting excellent games as well.

Some people still look mobile gaming down but considering that Baldur's Gate + Icewind Dale and King of Dragon Pass are already much better cRPGs what we have for consoles, mobile gaming is not that bad at all.

@Vegamyster: "Why? A 4+ year old GTX 480 can perform better then current gen consoles and one of the guys i watch on Youtube has 560 TI SLI (coming up on 4 years) and they max out most games at 1080p 60 fps or coming close."

Personally I don't care what consoles can do. I'm only interested about PC and especially OpenGL and Linux.

GTX 480 and 560 TI supports Direct3D 11 (12?) and OpenGL 4.5 so I'm totally fine with those cards. I just ho...

There is still lots of "PC gamers" who has older than 4 years old dGPU. Personally I think those cards are too old for gaming. Game developers should be able to make games for OpenGL 4.4 and Direct3D 11 already and switch to OpenGL 4.5 and Direct3D 12 immediately when possible.

I hope Valve is able to make some kind of targets (low, mid, high) developers could make their games. At the moment it seems the target is "console level" which I think too low for ...

Very nice times for PC gamers. Since many gamers uses their machines for working as well all these new CPUs, GPUs, DDR4 etc. are more than nice.

Unfortunately games from big publishers like EA and Ubisoft are made for machines that has weak CPU and mediocre GPU so most of the resources goes for vain. Fortunately there's new raising stars that makes games for PC (Elite: Dangerous, Star Citizen, etc.)

Very nice... and this is just beginning.

It would have been interesting to see the game ported for K1 which is much more powerful compared to Apple's SoCs.

I hope Apple wouldn't continue with "Metal" but with OpenGL NG.

Paradox Interactive's grand strategy games are simply put the best in the market; complex, versatile, challenging, etc. Totally opposite what Ubisoft and EA releases.

Heh, PC gaming has been dying at least 20+ years but for some reason it is still doing great :)

Linux 10th position just behind new consoles - that's very nice surprise.

I buy full price games only from developers who I want to support. Bigger games are way too simplified and straightforward nowadays; lots of hand holding, UI is made for gamepad, regenerating health, enemy waves, etc.

Fortunately there are still companies like Paradox Interactive, Stardock Entertainment, etc. Kickstarter and Early Access has been great so far as well.

I just hope OSX doesn't nerf down Linux version yet again.

Can't wait to play OR CV1 + Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog + Elite: Dangerous

Linear, straightforward, hand holding, etc. like any big game nowadays.

I hope there would be a game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R again but much more unforgiving and complex. Early Access or Kickstarter is the only change it could happen but no luck so far ...

Battery life is a problem only when tablet is used mobile. At home the tablet could be attached to charger/dock while playing more demanding games. Computing power is not a problem anymore especially if playing "console games" (GPU heavy, not CPU)

Tablets has already excellent games like Baldur's Gates and King of Dragon Pass - both better than Dragon Age.

Yes, especially if tablet is evolving more TV friendly. Computing power is not a problem anymore. It is already easy to attach them to TVs with controllers but it is still considered as a "hack".

NVidia is already showing the way.

I'm interested why gamers are so incredible hyped about these games. To me they presents typical consoles games; straightforward, simple, hand holding, shooting and jumping -games.

I'm wondering if console gamers are interested at all game types like; grand strategy, 4X, RTS, etc. ... ?

4194d ago 0 agree3 disagreeView comment

Yep, same here. I'm still looking forward to play this but I hoped the game would have more like "Alpha Centauri" feeling. Even after 15 years Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is still absolutely amazing.
