That controller is hideous. It's friggin' huge and doesn't look comfy on the hands at all.
That's what happens when the world's most arrogant graphics company tries to design a controller. That tablet better get drivers to use DS4 or XBox controllers, cause that thing is as ugly as a rape charge.
Titanfall is a generic shooter with a mecha gimmick strapped to it. Sunset Overdrive looks awesome, but Insomniac, as much as I like them, have never done a game with the scope, atmosphere and hardcore sensibility that the Souls series has.
The only game I'm anywhere as excited about as Bloodborne is Cyberpunk 2077. All other games take a back seat. I was always gonna buy the PS4 anyway, but the announcement of Bloodborne made me tap my PS4 on the head and go "That'll do, pig, that'll do."
I'm not worried for Shovel Knight. It was an anticipated release. I bet it'll start selling gangbusters after the Steam sale's done.
The best non-serious game in the last few years is definitely Just Cause 2. The amount of ridiculous stuff you could do in that game was monumental, and no game thrives on its own ridiculousness and goofiness as much. The moment they announce Just Cause 3, I'll shed happy tears that taste of honey and bliss.
EDIT: I gotta give props to Saints Row 4 and Especially Blood Dragon, too. If the rumor is true that Blood Dragon 2 will be made with the FarCry 4 engine... well, see...
I can get a Vizio 22-inch 1080p LED TV for less than $150 and I'd get a much bigger, better display than this thing, plus it's still pretty portable. Cause let's face it, a PS4 by itself isn't very portable, so you'd need some sort of luggage to haul it in. Might as well haul a display too.
At this pace, TLOU, an HD remix of a previous-gen game, will look more new-gen than Ryse.

Guacamelee is fantastic. Super colorful Mexican-inspired graphics and music, fun and challenging platforming and a nice fighting system. Metroidvania done right.
As a Sony fan, I can honestly say I'm envying Guacamelee Super Turbo CE as a free game.
Lightning is the very worst traits of Squall and Raiden from MGS, multiplied a thousandfold, then given a sex-change operation. She's one of the absolute worst game protagonists ever, female or otherwise. Then again, the FF series has never had good female representation in their leads. The only females that were honestly interesting characters were part of an ensemble cast where EVERYONE was interesting (FF6, still the best by far) or got killed at the end of the first disc.
What the hell does Sony have to do with this train wreck? Besides, Nathan Drake is Sony's Mario. Or Kratos. A very sadistic, bloodthirsty Mario.
What really enrages me about this whole 5hing is that Squeenix keeps throwing money at a franchise that no one wants any more, yet they cut budget and let people go from Eidos, who've made their three most successful and critically acclaimed games in recent memory (Deus Ex, Just Cause 2 and Tomb Raider). You guys know that "envidia", the way Nvidia's pronounced, is Spanish for "envy", right? And that's exactly what they must be feeling towards AMD, envy over the huge-ass chunk of cash they're not getting for bailing out on making the hardware for the new consoles.
Say what you want about AMD, but they offer affordable and very stable hardware. At least with an AMD board I don't have to spend the gross domestic product of Belgium to upgrade....
Excellent news, we need more diversity and female representation and perspective in gaming :) The saddest part of all this is not so much that lack of females in the industry is not a problem with the industry itself, but with the tech industry as a whole. I'd love for anyone to play DW mashing buttons and see how long it takes them to get ripped a new one. The series has progressed A LOT since the PS2 days, but people don't give it a chance since they're prejudiced about it. Dynasty Warriors 8 is an AWESOME game with ridiculous replay value and an insane character count(who ALL PLAY DIFFERENTLY). The Xtreme Legends version for PS4 is an amazing value for the money. I can't wait for Samurai Warriors 4 to come out, too.
See, I don't mind difficulty as long as it's of the tough-but-fair category. The Demon's/Dark Souls games may be hella tough, but the game rewards you for persistence and progress. Getting to a bonfire after a particularly tough area or beating a boss make you feel accomplished, and in the case of bosses for example, you get boss souls which allow you to either really improve your character or get special weapons. And the more you play, the more you understand the game's rules...
The botched XB1 reveal and Sony's subsequent slaughter should be essential reading in any economics class. It's simply amazing how much of a screw up Microsoft made, to the point they basically handed new gen to the competition.
