You know, I'm still amazed that other game companies haven't approached 4A to license their engine for development, since the Metro series is one of the best looking of the current generation and the engine is rock-solid. Could be an alternative to both Unreal4 and CryEngine.
And I love the Metro games, and seeing them running so great on the new consoles makes me very happy. I'll be getting Redux on PS4, since we PS gamers missed out on 2033 last gen.
I'm doubtful that any game I play next year will hold a candle to Bloodborne, it's definitely my most awaited PS4 game. The Souls series is just a joy to explore, every new area feels full of history and secrets, every illusory wall and treasure chest is an achievement, every fog gate a nerve-wracking door to the unknown. It's just friggin' great.
It was never announced as an exclusive. The P.T. demo IS exclusive, but that's just a marketing agreement between Sony and Konami(which is GENIUS, btw). It's like Activision giving a bigger push to the Destiny marketing on PS4, it doesn't mean exclusivity. If it WERE announced exclusive, though, it'd be big news, and if it were a timed exclusive, at least Sony wouldn't announce it without EXPLICITLY stating it is (*COUGH* Tomb Raider! *COUGH*).
The reason people are upset is because of the bullshit corporate speak try8ng to mislead players and the fact tha Microsoft is still pulling the timed exclusivity card, which players feel is more of a remnant of the past generation. Microsoft basically wanted to fool everyone into thinking the game was a full exclusive to make sales, giving the illusion that players would need the XB1 for the game.
Imagine, just imagine, for a second that the timed exclusivity was revealed AF...
Yeah, sure, Squeenix is gonna allow this game to be XB1-exclusive and miss out on that fat piece of Sony pie. Please, this one's got timed-exclusive written all over it.
This guy seems like a scumbag, and some of his business decisions have been baffling, to say the least. So they buy the Homefront IP and then they sell it away before they even release one game for it? And the F2P thing is retarded. Crytek's in the business of making game development engines, that is RISKY and EXPENSIVE business. It could not possibly be sustained by a F2P business model, especially with competition as stiff as Unreal engine 4. And making a MOBA is SUICIDE. DOTA and LOL a...
So I can play a Souls ripoff done by a development studio with a shitty track record, or I can play THE REAL DEAL.
Decisions decisions...
As a military man myself, the idea of using a snowboard in a combat zone makes me laugh derisively. Suppressive fire becomes shooting fish in a barrel if your target is too concentrated on staying upright to effectively use his weapon.
Agreed on Assassin's Creed and Resident Evil, disagree on Borderlands and The Line. COD I think should keep going, but hold it back to once every two years for better story and more innovation. We don't need a yearly installment when the multiplayer stays pretty much the same and the campaign gets progressively weaker. And Activision can afford to take their time on COD, every installment is a guaranteed best-seller and Battlefield's consistently proven to not be any competition. ...
We're not missing anything with Ryse not coming to PS4. It's just another hack'n'slash. I'm perfectly fine with not having it.
This is the last nail on Crytek's coffin. UE4 is probably gonna be more user-friendly and less hardware-intensive than CRYENGINE, and will DEFINITELY get more support from developers than CE. Now it's proving that it can do what CE can equal or even better, that's egg on Crytek's face.
INEXCUSABLE!! You mean to tell me that a game with pre-rendered backgrounds and by-now ancient graphics that came out 12 years ago is gonna run at 30fps??
Seriously, anyone who doesn't get the memo that Capcom is playing us for chumps and trying to milk water out of a stone DESERVES to get their money taken. This is seriously disgusting.
It has a bigger install base in Japan than any of the other current-gen systems. So yeah, fuck Capcom.
I think it IS a waste of time. The gameplay of the game will go over most mobile players' heads, since they're usually the causal crowd, and controlling the game would be a friggin' nightmare.
I already saw various screenshots of both the advertising and the actual game, and it's BLATANTLY ripping off Dark Souls.
I can't blame them, the Souls games are arguably some of the absolute best of the last generation, so you can do a lot worse when choosing what to rip off, but jeez, dial it down a notch. This is beyond ripping off and it's straight-up plagiarism.
Mah man *fistbump*
I'd add a new Warhawk and Jet Moto to that list. Imagine an awesome online multiplayer Jet Moto, it'd be amazing. And Warhawk was one of the PS3's most fun multiplayer experiences, it'd make a killing on PS4.
There's a huge difference: weapons in Destiny are standard guns with a few pros and cons when compared to each other, and sometimes which gun tyou use is a manner of preference. There's SO MANY guns in Borderlands with so many variations, and you change old ones for new ones so frequently they might as well be currency.
If you already have a PS+ subscription, you already have a few free games right out of the box. Enjoy :)
For the life of me, I can't see how they'd make it any slimmer! The hardware is already amazingly compact and well-designed. Maybe a new SKU with a bigger harddrive or cheaper to produce internals, but the box itself is remarkably well-designed, I don't think they gotta slim it down.
The Witcher 3 Special Edition looks WICKED, that statue is all sorts of sexy. All the others I could live without, though Destiny's stuff looks nice, and I love art books and stuff that expands the game's story.
