The lack of trading baffles me. Trading is one of the classic MMO socialization/player interaction methods that enriches the game and here it's missing. There should be an auction house, too, and daily challenges that give guaranteed pieces of loot.
The game IS good. It's just that it's merely good when it should be outstanding. And the game's loot system is BADLY broken, with your performance in the game influencing NOTHING on the loot you get. The Cryptarch continuously screws people over when item appraising, and I CRINGED when I watched the Angry Joe review and saw a player being the MVP of a strike and his two fireteam allies getting Legendaries while he merely got crafting materials. That shit is ridiculous.

I want to see a Judo fighter who fights with throws and holds(NO, PAUL DOESN'T COUNT) or a more rounded MMA fighter. Marduk fights NOTHING like an MMA fighter, being more like a lumbering pro wrestler like Goldberg or Brock Leasnar pre-UFC. A Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu, Eskrima or Krav Maga fighter would be awesome, too. BJJ is a MUCH better representative art of Brazil than Capoeira is, an Eskrima fighter could be a short and very fast fighter, and a Krav Maga fighter could be a badass Israeli...
Bloodborne stream FTW!
If you build it, they will fap.
Man, I saw the SCEJA video, loads of twee visual novel crap. Games in Japan do nothing to push the hardware, and they recycled the same franchises ad nauseum. It distresses me, cause there ARE talented developers out there, but they're being stifled by how insanely shallow Japanese pop culture is these days.
Edit: They showcased Destiny, and wow, the game looks GENERATIONS beyond what any of the games from Japan look like. It's pretty sad.
All true, plus there's also the expansions coming, not to mention the servers that had to be put up for the game. Apparently they're regional servers, cause every time I play I see loads of Puertorican players. Either there's so many that I always see some online or it's a regional server that has Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Yeah, it was a strike boss. But they ARE kind of like mini raid bosses. The way the game's designed, it's impossible for a player to solo one. It's not like Borderlands, where with some twinking you can actually solo a raid boss and destroy him in seconds (I've seen it happen, I had a guy in my team who destroyed Terramorphous on his own in like 6 seconds in BL2).
I just did a raid boss last night. We were a 3 person fireteam and it was TOUGH, loads of dropships bringing in more mooks and the boss himself sponging damage like crazy. You'd see every player doing as much damage as possible, then scrambling to revive any member of the team that dropped. Then a few more players came in by chance and started helping us out. When the boss finally fell, every player gathered in the middle of the boss arena and started dancing.
It was fuck...
I saw last week's UFC Fight Night (Jacare DESTROYED Mousasi), and at every commercial break, they had an XB1 commercial advertising their fantasy football feature. Fantasy. Football. Are Microsoft that fucktarded that thet think fantasy football is a game-selling feature for ANYONE? Do they think UFC fans are brainless jocks who don't play videogames? Cause I've been a fan of the UFC since day one, and I've been gaming since the Atari 2600 days. If they had advertised GAMES fo...
A successful alpha and beta, good press, Bungie's promise of substantial support of the game, compelling multiplayer in both MMO and traditional FPS multiplayer, star power(Peter Dinklage, Peter Stormare, Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres and a bunch of voice acting royalty), amazing presentation, a huge universe to explore... This game is gonna BURY Watch_Dogs.
@Uptownsoul The comparison with the RotTR situation is not appropriate, I think, cause Microsoft was blatantly seeding confusion to make players believe the game was XB1 excluwive when it's not. Destiny at no moment has been advertised as a Sony-exclusive. It has been advertised as Sony-CENTRIC, and it is to a degree, since the best and best-selling version between the two consoles will be the PS4.
I just hear the name Pachter and I cringe.
The Last Of Us is amazing, but I don't even think it's the best game of the last gen, let alone best ever. It has lots of awesome gameplay and emotion, but it didn't FLOOR me lime some other games have. Dark Souls, for example, floored me. Bioshock (first one) floored me. The Metro games floored me. Don't get me wrong, it's a classic, and I have my copy of Remastered to prove it. But not only is "best game" supremely objective, but it's also something hard to...
This statement nails it. Yes, it's clever, but it's also MS calling sour grapes on crap they've been doing for YEARS. And as I mentioned in another post, it's not like Sony and Activision are advertising that Destiny's an exclusive game. Unlike MS tried to do with Tomb Raider.
Well, it's clever, but it's not like Destiny is being advertised as exclusive when it's not, it's being advertised as Sony-centric, which it is. This isn't a Rise Of The Tomb Raider situation here. The bottom line, though, is that, if you want the optimum Destiny experience, you'll want to get it on PS4. Just on install base alone, the PS4 version will be much more active.
Microsoft already opted out of the TGS. They've decided they've shot themesleves in the foot enough and decided to strap a live grenade instead.
Not doing the TGS is a HUGE mistake. Of the regional videogame conventions, the TGS is the most important one to its native audience: the Japanese put much more weight on the TGS than Americans do E3 or Europeans do Gamescom. TGS is where Microsoft should have used all its energy to sell the system and bring up the paltry launch numbers. Instead, they're giving it away to Nintendo and Sony to walk all over them, they're doing themselves irreparable damage.
More like 3 million + 1. 5 million is the number shipped.
Which makes it even more sad, cause twice the amount MS has shipped is what Sony has SOLD.
Submitted for your approval: Just Cause 2. No other game delivers such distilled joy and fun. Runner up: FarCry 3.
