Microsoft is in a frenzy acquiring studios left and right, but how will they MAINTAIN those studios? Making games costs money, and if MS has too many studios beneath them, that budget is gonna get stretched pretty thin. Sony doesn't have as many studios under them as MS does, and they support them well with both healthy budgets and creative freedom, which is the winning formula that won Sony this gen. MS is dangerously close to beng in Activision's spot of having to cut costs on somes...
Quality of life. I can understand striving for realism in certain aspects of the game, sure, but one should NEVER go backwards in terms of ease of play and anti-frustration features. For example, yes, skinning is more realistic now. It's also a GODDAMN GRIND and time-consuming as hell. I'd rather have RDR1's skinning with more bells and whistles than the long-ass frustrating experience RDR2's version is.
Honestly, Destiny 2 is pretty unsalvageable at this point because of Activision's meddling anyway. Best thing Bungie can do now is just do tweaks here and there to make the experience less frustrating and focus on Destiny 3 or a new IP, in which they can just go all-out creatively without Activision sabotaging them. From the immensely positive reaction online, it's obvious that fans overwhelmingly took Bungie's side of the split and have faith that they'll deliver a quality pr...
I loved RE4 when it came out, but I agree with you, that game has NOT aged well. It was revolutionary, though, and I'm HYPED for REMake 2.
While I adore MHW, I totally see where you're coming from, since you're not the first person I know to have problems with the game. MHW is SERIOUSLY an overwhelming game to get into, with its ridiculous amount of game systems. Even hundreds of hours into the game, it'll continue to throw new crap at you that keeps complicating it.
That is LITERALLY the first thing that came to mind when I read this, holy shit indeed!!
This not only is easily the biggest piece of gaming news in ages, it's an absolute indictment of the AAA publishing industry. This is Bungie making a statement that their creative vision was sacrificed because of Activision's shitty-ass policies and that they're now putting on their big boy pants to right the ship. I am beyond glad for them, and am genuinely excited to see w...
They'd probably run on the Pro's enhanced mode by default, and maybe some of the newer games, like TLOU2 and Ghost of Tsushima, would have PS5 enhancement patches.
Street Fighter 5 was pretty bad with all the nickel and diming and the more mainstream gameplay compared to 4, but this game looks amazing, and Monster Hunter: World was THE best value for your money of any game last year, not to mention a top 5 best game. If GOW and RDR2 didn't come out the same year, MHW would have scored that spot easily. So yeah, Capcom deserves praise when they do moves that merit it, nothing hypocritical about that.
@InTheZoneAC I think I speak for everybody here in saying that taking jabs at EA will ALWAYS be appreciated XD
Indeed. The zombie hordes is just one element. From what's been shown, there's also human gangs and cultists, which are individually more dangerous than the zombies, and the friggin' wildlife, which is what has me most excited. Humans and zombies are pretty scary, yeah, but zombie birds and zombie BEARS? Fuuuuudge that! I also love the focus on smart survival tactics, like sound and light discipline. You just can't try to shoot everything, cause, although a gun is the most pow...
Good call by Sony. There's enough multiplayer content for the PS4 with 3rd-party developers, and their focus on single-player won them both critical acclaim and great earnings this year. Plus, cramming a multiplayer mode on a single-player story-driven game is just unnecessary.
Deep Down has been vaporware for years. But my money (not literally, I didn't crowdfund it) is on Star Citizen.
I call bull. This is EA we're talking about, it's absolutely impossible they won't try nickel and diming us.
Well, it does have Luke Skywalker. Look at him, he's right in the banner picture, lol.
God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last of Us actually came out.
Every piece of gaming news involving Australia just keeps confirming that the Aussies' intellect has been stunted by all the platypus venom.
Glad to know my suspicion that EA execs are just as much creeps to their employees as they are to their customers is 100% accurate.
They need to patch in the option to turn off motion blur. This game has THE WORST motion blur I've ever seen, it genuinely is headache-inducing.
Indeed. I'm not a fan of the game or anything, but I think Fortnite's monetization model is on point. Microtransactions can be pretty painless if you make the free experience good enough. Warframe is doing gangbusters this way too. It's when put in pay2win, especially on a game that you've already paid $60 for, that it starts to taste like bullshit, and is COMPLETELY INEXCUSABLE in a single-player game, like the goddamn auction house in Diablo 3 or the initial horridness Shafo...
This chump needs to invest in real estate or something, cause his tech investments so far are the very definition of dumpster fire clusterfucks.
