To be fair, IGN is HARD to take at face value, considering all the blunders they've made recently in reviewing games (REMake 2, anyone?) As well as their obvious favoritism of certain cash-cow franchises while disregarding great games with smaller reputations.
That doesn't mean they're not 100% accurate in this particular case, mind you, I'm just saying that IGN as a ehole needs to be taken with a saltshaker.
It basically gives Microsoft no motivation to create top-notch games cause they can just throw them to Game Pass and recoup sales that way. Sony and Nintendo put much more effort into their exclusives cause they have to make a profit on their own merits, while Microsoft just throws a mediocre game to Game Pass to "add value" to the service and minimize risk, but also minimize effort. It basically makes Game Pass a dumping ground for mediocre games to make money while Microsoft has ...
Bloodborne Complete for $17? There is NO EXCUSE to not get it now.
Mister XXX must be fucking horrifying now!
So, is this Microsoft's strategy now? Releasing mediocre games and touting they're a good value cause they're available on Game Pass? Cause they did the exact same thing with Microsoft's last big exclusive, Sea Of Thieves. Also, the last high profile XB1 exclusive was Sea of Thieves? Which is almost a year old already? Since that time, Sony released God of War, Yakuza 6, Spider-Man, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Detroit: Become Human, Tetris Effect and MLB The Show 18. The only hi...
Sony should make a new studio but hire the dormer Visceral Games people. Seeing how EA had no problem shutting them down in their infinite ignorance, seeing Sony pick them up and giving them the ball to createnew stuff would be boss. They could very well take ideas from the cancelled Star wars game and make a new IP, or do a spiritual sequel to Dead Space. Either way, those are some talented people that deserve way better than the shitty-ass hand that EA dealt them, and right now it doesn'...
Indeed, I expect PSX this year to have more bombshells than the DMZ. I still think that skipping E3 to directly control the narrative of the PS5 launch and have more time to release a dope show was the right move. Plus, last year's kinda anemic E3 showing is probably because they ARE saving up the big announcements for upcoming PS4 games to have awesome stuff to show for it along with the PS5 announcement. And if Sony ARE considering buying more studios, that's a big announcement. Mic...
That'd be boss too, except that it'd be PS4-exlusive. Although maybe they could do an XBox-exclusive one to compensate? What exclusives does MS have that could fit? (Not trolling, legitimate question)
"It is more of the fact that they value visuals over performance."
So, they're not OPTIMIZING the game?
Stay in-house and give us the Arisen and monsters from Dragon's Dogma to fight. A griffin or a chimera would be boss.
I am not gonna blame Microsoft for this one, as much of a Sony fanboy as I might be. This just means that Bioware has done a shit job optimizing the game for the XB1X, pure and simple. This bodes badly for the game as a whole on BOTH platforms.
Where have you been? There already was a Bionic Commando reemake, Bionic Commando Rearmed, and it was BOSS.
Monster Hunter World for $25 is a STEAL. Anyone not yet on board with it should definitely make the plunge now, especially since the new Witcher DLC just dropped yesterday. You can get a FUCKTON of gameplay from the game right now before Iceborne drops at the end of the year.
That will never happen, since WB has Netherrealm for its own fighting franchises. I do wanna see them cross over with SNK again, since Capcom Vs SNK 2 is still to this day my favorite 2D Capcom fighting game. Maybe add Sega and Namco to the mix too?
Man, I just wanna see Kazuma Kiryu in a fighting game, dammit.
Seeing all the love for Dragon's Dogma here makes me smile 😀
This. SF5 fell victim to the goddamn piecemeal season system that Killer Instinct started with, and it bit Capcom hard. I seriously doubt that SF6 will have the same release strategy, considering how much crap Capcom got over it. Thank goodness that Capcom's other releases haven't suffered from this. If anything, Monster Hunter World is the POLAR OPPOSITE of SF5 in terms of release schedule. By the end of the year, we'll have had two years' worth of free high-quality DLC AND a...
Edit: Oh, and by the way, did you check the article on Capcom's million-selling games? Cause so far, SF5 has only sold 500,000 less copies than SF4, so apparently, the XBox players don't count for much.
Last time I checked, there has never been "death by Grand Theft Auto" written on an autopsy report.
Those Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen numbers look off to me. Does it cover the game's sales on PC and PS4 as well? Cause to my knowledge, DD is actually Capcom's most successful release on PC. But regardless, it brings me joy to see it in that list, and I hope that the Switch release bumps those numbers even more and motivates Capcom to finally make DD2. DD is such an incredibly underrated game. It's actually my favorite game of the 7th generation of consoles, even over Dark Soul...
"I haven't played the multiplayer so I can't comment on that."
Are you the guy who reviewed Resident Evil 2 Remake for IGN?
