The expansion is an ENTIRE new continent with new maps, new monsters, new gear, new quests and G-Rank, and they'll be doing loads of updates in the meantime. It's actually pretty amazing they're releasing all that barely a year-and-change later. This expansion will be WAY more meaty than anything like, say, Destiny 2 had to offer.
If Capcom continues to handle MHW this way, with constant updates adding small improvements and a big expansion every year or so, MHW can have longevity that'd put games like Destiny to shame. Not only are we getting huge volumes of free small updates, but the expansion is a genuine EXPANSION, an update that's a massive overhaul.
Tsujimoto mentioned that previous owners can buy Iceborne as an expansion, so that means there'll be a full re-release when the expansion comes out. Wait til then.
As for the announcement, this is the PERFECT handling of the franchise. Announce a bunch of updates to keep the game fresh in the meantime and drop a huge expansion. If they keep this pace of constant updates with a major expansion every year or so, MHW can have longevity that can put games like Destiny to sh...
Man, are you ignorant.
Obsidian were formerly Black Isle, creators of the original Fallout and the guys who made Fallout New Vegas, the best game in the series. They have nothing to do with Fallout 76 and thry have a proven track record. They're also CRPG royalty, with games like KOTOR2, Planescape, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate and Pillars of Eternity under their belt.
And here it starts. The Fallout 76 burn is doing its job. We've done a great job, guys.
"I Do Not Find Fallout 76 So Bad: What Am I Missing?"
A soul, probably.
"Oh, we're sorry we lied and gave you an inferior product in our $200 special edition. Here's $5 bucks."
Jesus Horatio Hornblower Christ...
No, Wasteland 3 was announced before the InXile acquisition and is being released on all consoles to fulfill contractual obligation. This is newly announced, so it falls under the new contract.
Conaidering that game won't come out for PS4, I'm not interested.
What problem? They're skipping E3 to announce the PS5 in their own conference and fully control the narrative. That is super smart.
Wow, this is Bizarro World clickbait.
Oath at Fhelgana, Seven, Memories of Celceta and Lacrimosa of Dana are amazing games. I adore the Ys series, and Adol is one of my favorite JRPG characters ever.
This has been the year of the big guys doing dumbass bullcrap. I'm amazed Ubisoft came out rather unscathed when EA, Activision and Bethesda did massive screwups.
"And it started as a Souls-like". I imagine they had nothing to show cause they realized halfway through that only From can make Souls games worth a damn and scrapped everything to start from scratch.
Looking at that list, goddamn, guys, shenanigans from bastards like EA, Ubisoft and Activision aside, this has been a great goddamn generation of games.
Horizon was hyped MASSIVELY as Guerilla's first big non-Killzone IP. It was as big for Guerilla as The Last Of Us had been for Naughty Dog after Uncharted or Spider-Man was for Insomniac. Hell, Horizon was so big that even when people were comparing it to Zelda: Breath of The Wikd, it was STILL being hailed as a landmark game.
Pfft, what a dumbass statement. We don't NEED next gen, on paper. In theory, we could still be gaming on Atari 2600s. But why would global technology advance and game development not take advantage of it? We don't NEED next gen, but we WANT next gen.
*sigh* These things are NEVER right.
Lol, wow. This is the funniest review score I've seen yet.
I mean, don't get me wrong, perfectly deserved, but still.
Pffffft, no. Steam is a JUGGERNAUT. Yes, Fortnite is popular, but one game a service does not make. I, for one, don't and will never play it (no shallow reasons, I just dislike competitive multiplayer as a whole), so it's not a selling point for me, and I'm not the only one. And as much dumb shit as Steam has done over the years, it's still the primary platform for pretty much every publisher out there, and there's few things that make players salivate like a Steam sale. ...
