That's exactly my biggest worry.

Considering how disastrous the last couple of years have been for Gearbox, Borderlands 3 is the ONLY announcement from them that'd be worth a damn. And even that comes with about twenty asterisks, cause worst case scenario is that Borderlands falls into the games-as-service cesspool and the game is ruined before it even comes out.

Lol, precisely the opposite. PUBG was killed by Fortnite and that's getting killed by Apex Legends, there's only one top battle royale game at any given time. And games-as-service have gotten the worst goddamn beating since the concept first was created, with Fallout 76 and Anthem being industry embarrassments. Meanwhile, last year and the beginning of this one have been banner years for single-player or multiplayer-optional games games, with hits such as Monster Hunter World, Yakuza ...

Cause people like narrative-driven games.
Cause people like complete gaming experiences without being hassled by pay2win.
Cause people don't like to depend on other players for their fun.
Cause people like new IPs instead of the Nth iteration of franchise X.

Looks like Amy Hennig drank the EA/Activision/Ubisoft "Game development is too expensive!" Kool-Aid. Yes, when you release a broken, sub-par product that is infested with microtransactions, game development IS expensive... cause you piss off fans so hard that they won't support your product and it'll never make its budget back. This is not an industry problem, it's strictly an EA/Activision/Ubisoft problem. If you ask guys like Sony of CD Projekt Red if game development ...

No, but they're the same director.

Looks like DMC5 and Dragon's Dogma are joined at the hip. Not only will good sales of DD make Capcom consider DMC5 for Switch, but good sales of DMC5 will apparently be able to make Hideaki Itsuno finally start working on DD2.

In the last couple of years, I've bought RE7, REMake 2, Dragon's Dogma (for the fourth time!) Megaman 11 and Monster Hunter World. Can't wait for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and I'm crossing my fingers they finally start work on Dragon's Dogma 2. Capcom's been crushing it lately.

"Never in a million years (after seeing that Anthem trailer at E3) did I suspect that I'd be playing Crackdown 3 and avoiding Anthem, but here we are."

Yeowch, that has to be the most damning assessment of Anthem I've seen yet. You recognize that Crackdown 3 is a mediocre game and yet you actually prefer it over Anthem? That's savage, dude.

Scrapped ideas for this one = new ideas for the next one! I for one am excited with the future of the franchise. As much as I love Resident Evil 4, it did send the franchise in a more action-centered direction to the detriment of it. But with RE7 and now REMake 2, Capcom finally hit it on the head with balancing modern action mechanics with a better focus on actual survival and good scares. And since we're almost at the finish line for this generation, RE8 will most likely be a PS5/Next g...

Man, you guys make me smile. I'm so glad to see so much love for Dragon's Dogma. It's my favorite game of the PS3/360 gen, but I know practically no one that played it or enjoyed it to the level I did. I'm so glad to see so many people praise the game too.

That is a hell of a question. I too am curious about what happened to Deep Down. However, one thing I do think is that, even if he game didn't come out, it wasn't a waste, cause look at those old trailers for the game. The camera movement, the over the shoulder view, the character's movement and animation? I think the engine they were using for those eventually became the RE Engine, cause everything in those reminds me a lot of the Resident Evil 2 Remake.

I always thought that Springboard and Ladder Blade were meant for co-op. Pawns never know how to use it or launch themselves from it right, but in co-op, it'd be GLORIOUS to launch your buddy into the air to grab a cyclops in the face or grab onto a flying griffin.

WOW, dude, hivemind! I too was gonna mention that DD and KoA are both underrated gems. That EA didn't give KoA any publicity and basically set up the game for failure is an absolute travesty. I'm so glad THQ Nordic bought the IP, I can't wait to see what they do with it.

I love DD so much that I bought theoriginal, bought Dark Arisen when it came out, bought it on Steam and bought it on PS4. I'm the kind of player that DESERVES DD2 XD

@Nacho_Z Holy crap, dude, you literally quit at precisely the point the game starts to get REALLY good! You didn't fight any of the REALLY cool monsters like chimeras, griffins or even dragons yet! I definitely recommend you give the game another shot, cause when the game opens up and you're finally able to explore all of Gransys, it's a friggin' blast, and in Gran Soren you can finally change vocations, which also makes the game much more fun in that you can switch playstyles...

Just out of curiosity, how far did you get into the game? Cause DD is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE game of the last console gen, but even I will admit that the game's pretty rough at the start until you finally get to Gran Soren and are finally able to freely switch vocations. But when it finally hits its groove, the game's amazing. And the large monster battles are the most awesone of any action RPG I've ever played.

It does nothing new and everything it does is arguably done better by other games. The only thing it does distinctive is the flight mechanics, and the game will arbitrarily take flight away from you for no good reason other than "just 'cause." Taking away the biggest selling point of the game fod no good reason is the definition of anti-fun.

Why would EA use a F2P game to nuke a game that was six years in development and hundreds of millions of dollars in budget? It's nonsensical.
