If it was real,i'd say its good positioning to offer a 120gb at a $250 price point and the 250gb at $299.00. Does it cost all that much more from a manufactuers standpoint to produce a 120gb HD over a 60Gb one?
If they can offer a 250gb MW2 bundle with a extra controller for only $100 over a Elite,shouldnt be too much trouble.
And if you think it would be a desperate move,then i cant imagine what you think Sonys was. They ARE losing $$ ...

Well everyones situation is different.Your right if your TV is a 10 yr old 27 incher,then building this rig is a cheaper way to go.Not denying that one bit.
But all I was trying to say was for ME,and others...I already have a HDTV in the living room that serves another purpose...and it actually plays more movies and programs than games (only I play games on it and thats usually after my wife and daughter go to bed).

The TV I tend to use is 1080i and from what I read,component goes up to that resolution.So even though I have HDMI on this TV, I figured it would be a waste of money. But if you think im missing out,im open to buying a HDMI cable if anyone has input about that.
I dont think my HD satelite broadcasts at a signal higher than what my "old" 1080i can handle too.

I think if the movie was made today,Speilberg would have had Cruise operate his computer without any sort of "virtual reality glove".

I felt the computer interaction was one of the least high tech things I saw in that movie. that doesnt mean it wasnt impressive, but compared to some of the other stuff you see......
Interesting article.I would need to buy a OS,monitor,etc as my newest desktop is a "name brand" budget model thats about 5 years old (went with laptops last "upgrade cycle").About the only thing I could salvage is the mouse,keyboard,and sound system.
I wouldnt build that and hook my 17" CRT to it.
Its still alot better deal than picking up Dell's special of the week.
