DICE has had to sacrifice a few things, such as the 60fps frame-rate in order to achieve the visuals/destruction.
That isn't exactly a small sacrifice and I think that's why CoD has been ahead of everyone else; it is able to achieve better controls.
Frame-rate isn't exactly a factor on PC, and it appears that CoD's popularity there has been declining, so perhaps consoles will follow suit if both games performed on the same level.
So, in next-g...
... unfortunately, it didn't get the majority of 'overall GOTY' awards.
I read it as "Portal 2 Review"
Silly little brain making assumptions.
1 & 2 are due to simply the game being popular.
They're both not really justified reasons to hate a game. CoD didn't ruin your favourite series, the developers of your favourite series did.
As for 3, truly good games still wouldn't get recognition even if CoD didn't exist.
"After all, this is another attack on the PS3 and it's games by a site known for such worthless writing."
The list contains other games, including a game that isn't on the PS3.
Yet, because one of the games on the list was a PS3 exclusive, the site is trying to attack the PS3?
O.o
A game being difficult on the harder difficulties isn't exactly an argument against it being dumbed down.
If you compared MGS4 against, say, MGS3 on the same difficulty, then it can be argued that MGS4 is easier.
In MGS3 you had a limited amount of camos, there was no Drebin to supply you, and there were parts where you were without your trusty sidearm... and when you had a weapon, you couldn't aim and move at the same time. The boss battles were also...
Don't you need online on the go to play CoD's mp?
Which either means you'll have to find some kind of wifi spot, or leech of your phone if you have a plan or maybe buy the 3G version if that works.
Neither of those options sound that appealing to me.
Games like MortalKombat make more sense to me for a portable system.
A handful of companies that are part of ESA have said that they don't support SOPA, yet ESA still supports SOPA.
So they're all still indirectly supporting SOPA by being part of the organization.
Only trend I've seen is, the more expensive the product, the nicer the sales person is to me.
I don't think it has anything to do with a PS3 exclusive.
The car combat genre doesn't really have a huge fanbase, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the online community decline.
I hope the game has a server browser as that would allow the online to thrive despite having a relatively small community.
Not really a fair example.
If they steal your PS3/360/Wii, you no longer have it... meaning you won't be able to play games.
With piracy, you just have copies being shared.
A better example is if someone broke in, cloned the console, and then ran off, leaving you with the original.
Well, the entertainment industry isn't exactly starving.
That, and currently, the entertainment software that is sold (music, movies, games) are now being sold digitally. So supply isn't really an issue to begin with (even if companies like EA try to trick us otherwise by telling us to buy a digital download 'while supplies last')
You'd think with Act4 of MGS4, they'd already have most of the assets to recreate MGS1 with the new engine.
(They can still use either the original voice work or TwinSnake's)
MGS1 is on PSN (I think), so having the PS1 version on disc was also a possibility, but it can't really be "remastered" like the other games.
Javelin is a tad bit too effective against air vehicles though, if you have a few friendly SOFLAMs on your side.
However, they better increase the ammo capacity for Javelin if they nerf the damage.
It's cruel indeed to see how little love that game gets.
Doesn't it run on Java?
Well, the plumber does have a habit of doing 'shrooms.
Not sure about single GPUs, but I generally hear about multi-GPU setups running at those resolutions.
The new Radeon 7000 series might support it though. Either ways, they're expensive... just like the TVs needed to display them properly.
EDIT: Just checked the power consumption on the GPU. It's 400+ Watts during usage. Might as well use the expansion bay as a toaster.
Yea, but then again, this game is targeted at casuals.
Just look at the ridiculous driving assist on that thing, you don't even need to use your hands.
DMC was 10 years ago?
... Oh God.
